I don't know why it's constantly appearing, but I know the cause is from moonlight tales and/or werewolf mastery, possibly the patch to merge the two. Neither calls for the esp to be needed so I'm unsure why it's in there. Highly unlikely that's the cause as I've had the three for a while now, even before I started messing with Submit and the like.

Ah, I turned my back to this when the silly shouting was implemented, and now I revisit and witness the grapple key!
Marvelous.

Now, if only the surrender mechanism could be reworked to function in accordance with the vanilla one: To sheathe weapons be the surrender offer (and if forced by external effects, say a dragon shout or mayhap a devious device, just as well).
- I can see that this would need some additional work to be accomodated: The surrender scene should not trigger at all with foes, to which surrender is impossible, say the undead (though that is not universally true, depending on other Sexlab functionality; but the configuration should be pollable).

Actually, now that I think about it, I have to try what happens, if I put the surrender key to the sheathe key... no, that should not work, it would surrender once disarmed, not before, and if the command to both do and disarm happens concurrently, the former would not be able to detect the latter.
... Ah, mayhap you can think about a good solution.

Tales of Lycanthropy, I'm guessing.

That's the thing, I don't nor ever had it installed. And while I type this, the game is yet again frozen, but this time I can report that ambient sounds are still playing.

Go back to your mod list and check for missing dependencies with BOSS or Wrye Bash.  Mod Organizer will also tell you what's missing if you use that as well.  You've either used that mod before and uninstalled it, or you have a mod that has it flagged as a requirement and you didn't install it.  I can't really think of what else it could be.

Yeah, no dependencies. I figure it's because the Moonlight Tales author also being for Tales of Lycanthropy so they reused assets from ToL. That's why I figure it has something to do with the mods I first mentioned. And upon further research I'm intent to think it might be something to do with SD, as I didn't click the "install" mcm option. I'll try that next and report in.

I'm getting the "you are still in combat", and occasionally, the "your wounds are mortal". However, most of the time even with "you are still in combat" everything works fine.

I've tracked down a couple of mods who's scripts were breaking or timing out, and uninstalling them and starting a new game seems to have cleared up my previous error. (Where the submit key stops working).

Having done far more reading than my poor aching brain really liked, I think I might have a clue what's causing the glitches surrounding the submit key ceasing to function and "you are still in combat". The script stack is finite. I don't know how many scripts it will hold, but it's fairly small. Once a script breaks or hangs the stack fills. Once it fills it dumps to prevent the game from crashing. Then poof, random weird errors caused by scripts that failed to run, and nothing about them in the papyrus log.

So far I've had good luck with just standard anti-bloat tactics. I've done a lot of waiting in interior spaces to give the game time to empty the script stack and clean up corpses. I'm 14 or so hours into this particular run and so far, so good.

Edited for readability.

Interestingly i came hear to ask about this aswell, submit key and auto submit has stopped working. Would you mind telling what the mods were?

and will this: "lot of waiting in interior spaces to give the game time to empty the script stack and clean up corpses" work on a save game were submit stopped working?

Hi,

Thanks for this mod, really enjoying it so far. I can't seem to get enemies to submit while in vampire lord form, though?

The red shout hits my enemy, but nothing happens. No message appears in the top right, and they don't surrender; they just keep fighting as if nothing happened.

I did a quick test to provide you with a papyrus log. I tried to get somebody to submit in both flying and groundfighting modes before eventually having to kill the person. The log is attached.

I am also running Submit + DD + Follower friendly, in case that may be the cause.

Anything script-intensive, once it gets combined with other script-intensive thingies, methinks. So Frostfall, Hypothermia, Realistic Needs and Diseases, combat overhaul mods, the usual suspects - all the good stuff, basically. ;) Even on high-end machines, one has to pick his mod ensemble carefully, because once scripts get delayed, it is only a question of time until all the mods start to be divas and drama queens. And with Skyrim, CPU power only helps so far.

About the waiting tactic, I am not so sure - I have heard it to be anything from a cure-all Wunderwaffe to a placebo snake oil, so try it, and if it works, rejoice. If you do not have your hopes too high, you can only be surprised pleasantly. ;)

Maybe that new Save Game Script Cleaner on the Nexus can also help with your save (if you have uninstalled mods which might have left traces, of course)? It seems to be hailed by everyone as The Next Big ThingTM, and not completely undeservedly. ;)

Well don't know what broke it, try to stay away from too script intensiv mods, excluding mods here on LL ^_^.

anyways, auto submit and submit key was broken.

went into breezehome, hit the max sleep for me (744h, didn't know if scripts were on IRL or ingame time) about a month ingame, left it running, took about 11min IRL.

When i came back i tried it and it worked again,

Humanoid no problem at all.

Creature also worked again, though same as before it completly stopped,

don't know why but creature submit key is iffy, only works ~30% of the time, especially when there are more then one creature present. combat stop but then every one just stands there no hand in the air anim and after a short while combat resumes -_-

Is the only diff between 11FEB and 29MARS version the new voice, or are there stuff like bugs fixes etc, just unmentioned?

So I assume the latest version included auto-healing. Because my char can only submit through manual key. It also explains the relentless CTD I have. To be honest, it's been a frustrating 2 days of CTD madness. I think I'll wait for the next version, I'm just too tired to keep trying...

I should mention i have bunch of followers with my char. at the time. THe only sexd that happened were those 2 followers decided to have sex to each other.

Sometime later, I try by sending my char. alone to Dainty Sload & found that the corsair will stalk her if she ran away DURING GRACE PERIOD! They are also stuck in a threating stance & the debug message keep saying "You're still in combat" I also think you should butchered the "Your wounds are mortal" because it gets my char. killed both times.

CTDs are usually not caused by a single mod, if adding one more mod is causing problems then you need to review this:

Adding some other new mod may also give you problems so you need to fix the problem.

Actually I alwayss crash with Sexlab & all of it's associated mods on. I never use Sexlab mods for serious playthroughs, but for relaxation. But it has been a frustrating experience recently.

Yes, I've downloaded the guide a while ago, never really got to sit down & read it, got real life matter to attend to.

FWIW, can I add tuppenceworth on the 'Submit doesn't work with the Hotkey or Auto Submit setting and it's all the fault of this mod, or that one' issue?

I have just spent three or four hours going from Valtheim towards Dragonsreach, trying every combination of recent versions of the base 'Submit' mod and the 'Submit+Devious Devices' and 'Submit+Devious Devices progression' mods, with and withour follower, Lydia in this case

I had innumerable punch-ups with a Slave Trader and his sidekick + intow slave,   the first 'people' encountered on the way, all to no avail, :dodgy:  where every combat ended in bleedout for the PC, or PC + follower, and no submit 'after effects', 'afterglow', or any other glow other than my glowering frown, regardless of wait a while, save and reload or anyother combo I could think of.  Merely some happy sword waving on the part of the antagonists, and a 'Let's do this again sometime', or not, depending on what might well have been whether they were waving their swords clockwise or anti clockwise.

Having got back to Submit 20JAN14 and Submit + Devious Devices Progression 1.41 again, I got to the point where I no longer cared, :@  and set my PC off on the road to Whiterun.  Then, on an attack by a nasty black horny wolf, and because my PC had been in as bad a mood as not to wait until their health built up, well, blow me down, or maybe that should be beat me down, everything kicked in and fired off as it should have, with no blanks either, at least not that I could see

What it all seemed to boil down to was WHO was doing the attacking.  I had been trying it out on the Slave Trader and his mates from what I assume was the 'Slavegirls' ALPHAS mod available here.   Trying again with characters from OBIS and whichever mod that naughty wolf comes from worked fine, with both these mods in play.  Even that pesky dragon that hides out on the mountain there swooped and had his wicked way :shy:

So, the 'you are still in combat' and nothing otherwise untoward happens etc, well, to the extent that you expect the untoward to be initiated by the mod, it may be nothing to do with the mods and their compatibility, but rather who you are having your altercations with :-/

I CANNOT be absolutely sure that there is any racing certainty that guarantees this to be the cause of this sort of problem, but it may be worth checking by those who are having problems with getting anything working.  This help anyone?

Posted both here and on the Submit + Dev Dev + Progression mod as seems to be a common theme to both

FWIW, I almost gave up with all this, but reset my entire game to work from Mod Organiser, rather than NMM. and although it took quite a long time to do, it made a huge difference, in that I was better able to rethink and choose base content, vanilla and vanilla+, set up multiple game scenarios, see what my saved games had as content, and update mods in a way that I was much more certain about what both I, and the game itself, were doing.

Looks much better, more stable by far, and a lot more fun

There has been reports of issues with the newer versions of Submit and Submit+Devious Devices. Also make sure you have morality set correctly sometimes it is odd what some of the creatures and NPC's moralities are set at that make honestly no sense. Other mods that add new NPC's could have their morality set to just about anything and that could be part of the problem.

So I'm stuck in the binding position and I can't get out. It just keeps saying how I'm still in combat, how people may have noticed my position, and keeps rolling chances of being noticed. Is there some kind of command I can use to get myself out, been sitting here for 30 minutes trying.

The same key you use to surrender. I think default it is number pad 7 I think but not sure off the top of my head.

Thank you so much, I didn't realize I had to press that button.
