> LL changed me. It has some kind of weird, dual influence on me: on one side it made me addictive to the community, wanting to and enjoying to participate in members' life, discussions and topics, while in the same time it made me less patient with stalkers, idiots and imbeciles. I wanted to say that withing 6 years as I am the member of this community, I learned a lot of things from and about some very good LL people, but I also became more aggressive and rudely responsive to uncivilized behavior.

> LL helped me to rebuild certain level of trust in virtual friendships and relationships and regardless certain unpleasant experiences, it is the site made of good people in general. Why am i saying this? I was the member of many forums but none of them had such a strong influence on me, like LL. Maybe it didn't change you, maybe it doesn't influence on you in any way, but it changed me. And I am thankful for such valuable (good and bad)  experiences.

I think it has/is.  It's opened me up to more things that I never even knew were things, and has made me even more accepting of the diversity that makes us all.

I'm not perfect, but do my very best not to judge people based on their likes or dislikes - on here, and everywhere else in RL.

I've only been (active) here for a short time, so haven't seen everything yet either...lol

I truly feel like I can be myself here too, and that's a great feeling.  I'm part of other forums as well.  One for quite a while too, but it's fan-based - attitudes/sentiments change, and it's not really my thing anymore.  Sad, but oh well.  Moving on.

This really is a spectacular forum, with some excellent (and very talented - yours truly excluded) folks.  I really like it here. :)

I hope meet even more great people, and to learn a lot along the way.

Great thread. :)

Didn't change me all lol, just only post my first nudes here. Just felt safe in this environment.

Yeah, it changed me. Mainly the Skyrim section way back in 2014-2016. And not in a good way. I used to be a huge contributor to this community way way back in the days but that was a long time ago. Now I'm just a forum prick.

Not really changed me in any way regarding my real life or virtual life.. But it gave me the opportunity to act a bit outside my age, be silly with strangers and just waste a bit of my time while the whole shit show is going on in the world.. And i can share stupid sex pics from game without feeling too perverted doing it ?

That and some very rare threads i stumble across poke my interest. I enjoy just reading some of the off topics here and there. So no, no changes but some very funny and interesting happenings from time to time and a little addiction..

Too soon to say, but I'm hopeful in it being helpful in a therapeutic manner - without publicly delving into details.

Other than that it's pretty great and a fine place to start over with online social interactions, something which I had given up on before.

I learned more about making patches, solving plugin conflicts and using xEdit in first 6 months here than in 12 years on Nexus.

I still can't make mods though.

Posted

since I came here only for Sims 4 mods - it changed me in ways, that I have learned a s#!t load about modding and error solving

after some time I found about the Adult Stuff section and, well... it changed me, too.

I opened up a little, found out a lot about myself and others. I can now speak more about sexuality (my own and others) - here in the anonymity of the internet, but also in real life, which is great.

Hard to say how LL changed me. I'd say, at least I started talking with other LL people than just lurking. Most of the time I just lurk because I'm not American & I know I'll get harassed for not following the silly American ideology or daring to have different point of view on the world. It has happened to me before, even on here.

Gaming wise, I just like to know about technical side of gaming stuff. I know I have no talent for it, still something that greatly interests me. If I can, I'd want to make some complex mods.

I don't exactly think those are negatives. I'm all for a bit of community shunning if it means casually helping edge out behavior that makes other people uncomfortable and disconcerted in reasonable ways. That said, I'm totally always trying to not become jaded by embracing a similar modus operandi.

Hoping that I can find a niche on here, if only just messing around on the fourms and occasionally getting turned on by new mods on my games, haha.

Yes, and no.  I came here for the Oblivion, and then Skyrim mods, which was an interest I already had.

And then I discovered things that had nothing to do with here, but definitely changed my outlook on the world, mostly through a single individual, though I've had (extended) conversations with a few.

I came here as a horny teenager. While it did lead me to some... Questionable places, it also got me to have a greater understanding of sexuality in general. It also changed how I perceive people. Once you stop thinking that sexuality isn't something decent people do, it makes it easier to laugh at stuff and understand people.

It's also the community I first learned to give up on dumb people. People fighting tooth and nail to "defend" a mod author when I was giving feedback, on the details I didn't like in the mod and how I thought it could be improved. Mod author acknowledged it at the time, but gave its own argument against it. It was a matter of preference and we simply didn't align. Doesn't make the mod any worse, but apparently some people considered disagreement as an insult. And I tried to have a chat with those dumb people cause I still believed it was possible to talk with anyone. The ignorance of youth.

I mostly agree with all you said but even though i do not judge people or things i have come to realise that a lot of people like me have to keep their mouth shut i am open minded and belive in offworld friends and that this world is contolled by a faciest movement pretending to represent freedom and they have many many minions dotted about forums such as this there are a lot of good people here but you do have to realise early on what their agenda is, i do try to love everything down to a blade of grass in my garden love is all there is, but many will try to tell me otherwise, saying that i come here frequently every day and it is a very different site from many others there are many things to like and some not so much, but the biggest draw is the fact some really really talented modders live here and on that note i wish to say thank you modders you are a fantastic bunch and thank you Fiend71 for prompting me to answer and thank you Evaloves4 for starting this post so i could say my piece much love to all.

And we thank you for feeling safe to do that.   Oh, and yes, I enjoy your posts very much, perhaps though in perverted ways that make LL one of those "naughty places".

Glad you enjoy them, and I'm pretty sure LL was naughty before I got here lol. ?

If people are in an open and safe environment, they tend to learn and share more.    This is the main point behind "the culture wars" that are going on.   While there are some things that people like here that I am not a fan of, nor would I engage in, that this is a place where both those people who enjoy those sorts of things and I feel free to share is critical and unfortunately rare on the internet.    That said, exposure to different people and different perspectives has broaden my own knowledge, much to a positive effect.

I still have some residual fear that the Nexodus will bring some of the bad blood in those forums here, though (sometimes overzealous) action by moderators has limited the forums into arguments.

Nope, we were all about ponies and kittens before you started posting.    You have debauched us all ?.  I was a young respectable gentleman before I saw those images and now......well... lets just say I have aged fun, but definitely not aged well.

I've been, well...pretty open here. Lol. As for the trolls, they are rare and if they occur, I simply move on.

This is a great community, one worth fighting for. There's very little judgment of a callous nature from what I've seen on this platform, and those are are targeted are dealt with. It's a great place to socialize.

Beyond just socializing, it's also a great place for mods. You can have your fetish mods, your gay mods, or just your plain weird mods, and no one will bat an eye. I don't know if it's due to the moderators being harsh on kink-shaming, or just that to find this place you kind if need to have a somewhat open mind, but you don't see the "eeeew" comments that add nothing but virtue-signaling that you'll find on other sites when it comes to mods that fall outside of the "normal". If it isn't for you, people here just don't download or comment and leave it at that. I've always enjoyed that aspect in particular about LL.

I am conflicted.

Yes, i did learn a lot being here. At the same time i realized that i am chasing something that wasn't me.

I think i value the people more i interacted with than the games itself.

In recent past i shifted my interest a little bit and i am somewhat more active on F95.

I fell in love with novellas. Though i realized at the same time, that the thing i miss and long for is romance. Not fetishes per se.

To me, Bethesda games are over. I just can't play them anymore. This was originally why i came here.

If you like to play a truly amazing game that emphasis relationships, i recommend Light of my Life. Though its lewd but it has a path for belonging.

Anyway, i think i am not striving for abuse or whoring, though its naughty and nice.

I am also going through a different phase in my life. Everything is changing.

But i appreciate this site for its offering. A great community where you can share your thoughts and being accepted for what you are.

My bottom line is, the site helped me to understand myself better. What it is, that i want or long for and not being confined in the porno bubble. To be honest with myself.

So i am glad i did join even though i am much quieter than before. But thats ok.

Eva, I was a bit shy with regards to adding to this post.

One could argue that LL didn't change me,  but the people I met here did.

When I came to LL back in 2017, I was just looking for mods that had disappeared from Nexus because the author was banned and she took all her mods and came over to LL.

When I arrived here I discovered not just how user friendly the site was, but all of the people who went out of their way to help a Noob with silly problems.

I was going through massive changes in my life, my parents had been killed in a car accident in 2014, and I was just emerging from the depression I went through as a result.

The homestead my parents had built was now mine and I lived alone in the wilderness cut off from civilisation for 3 years. Then survival kicked in and I finally went to the nearest town for supplies.  Even after three years everyone there recognised me, and offered sympathy for my loss. But, several inquired about items they had brought to my Father for repair.  Now, my father had taught me the business of repair and modification, so I agreed to finish what he has started.  Soon the business was back on track and I started to accept new orders.  However I was still alone especially at nights and during the winter where I would be cut off by the snow for as much as 8 weeks.  I started to play the games my father had on his computer, and figured out a way to get internet in my location. Once on the internet I started searching for mods and found Nexus and by proxy LL

So life had settled in....or so I thought.  I was used to having men come up to the homestead to ask for help in repairs or to bring equipment for said same.

One day early in 2017 all that changed when two different men struck a chord in my heart, and sent me to a place that I would never have imagined in my wildest dreams.

But as fate would have it i found another person on LL who was in a similar situation.   She listen long and hard to what I had to say and answered all my question with brutal honesty .   What she told me changed everything in my life, and made me see possibilities that would have been taboo in my old way of thinking.

Thanks to people on LL,  I was able to accept the love I had found, and today almost 6 years later I am happily married and have given birth to two beautiful girls.

All of which I would have walked away from, because it was not conventional, and totally against the norms of my Catholic upbringing.

So in effect if LL had not existed I would still be living alone in the wilderness.

Thank you for sharing that, as well as to others.    I wish I knew what made LL a superior site to others, other than possibly one single rule "Don't be a dick".

However, I wanted to ask if you have played Dragon Age Origins.    In terms of romance/relationships, I have not see its equal.   The mod maker Dahliailynn (https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/users/2073175 ) made a series of mods that seriously expanded the story telling and romance options.     Anyway, I do not know when you started gaming since that game came out in 2009 (not long ago to me, but...I am one of the older people here)  so you may have missed it if  you are a young gamer.
