sonjohandbzx Posted April 14, 2022 Posted April 14, 2022 So, got 2 saves running: 1 with the console changes, where I haven't got a clue what to do: Ariela doesn't say anything, an no hints whatsoveer to solve the vision. 1 with the somewhat cleaned save where I found a note in Belethor's shop, asked in the Bannered Mare, was sent to Falkreath, and the Jarl, innkeep nor Nenya know anything. So pretty stuck again.

Updated upon entry, both slaves updated when I got close enough. I did find a note when I cleaned out the bandits directing me to another hideout, something about Ravens and taming a cat without getting into spoiler territory. I was at the other hideout after delivering the "rescued" girls to my homes when I noticed that the mission was still active.

I tried them in Riverwood and Whiterun with no option to talk about captives. Sounds like something was broken or corrupted. Since SBC fires up on initial log in, is it possible that some of its scripts are being stepped on by other mod as they are firing up also? Would a restart button or command possibly fix these issues since (at least) a few of us run script heavy games?

Yes, though there's a 3 second delay but avoiding crashes was what was in mind for that. I do have a mod with scripts that have tif in them but I disabled it thinking it might be causing issues. It seemed to have no effect.

MO would tell a user if one of your 2 tif's are interacting with other mod. While highly unlikely, this could explain why some users(?) have problems that others dont. I am NOT getting the message that I have located the girls, and that is the point at which everything comes to a screeching halt. I reloaded a save from before I finished the "Between the Lines" quest, finished it, talked to an innkeeper, sent to Morthal, talked to the steward and got sent to Robber's Gorge. Three girls in the camp, the camp has been cleared, and I can talk to the girls and choose what to do with them, but I have yet to locate them. Lissa, Caelia and Evska. Evska was entertaining a pair of bandits when I was clearing the camp. I have found and read the Bandit Leader's Journal. All of the wisps have been defeated, as have all of the bandits. Evska still has the purple glow on her as if she is still affected by the wisps. Detect Life shows three non-hostile people (the girls) and one hostile, a deer outside of camp. Detect Dead shows eight dead bandits. I have had the problem with invisible enemies before in this game. I went down into the cave under the camp, cleaned out the chest there and the one on the island, came back out, and spoke to Evska. Now I have the Liberate, Escort, Subjugate choices for her. After going down into the cave, across to the island, and coming back up out of the cave, I got the update as soon as I spoke to Evska. Liberate worked. Reload. Escort to Sybille, no option. Escort to Nenya worked. Sybille was the mage I spoke to when I was freeing Sabrina. Reload. Subjugate worked. Color me confused.

Ok, at least we know where it's halting. It sounds like it's failing at the initial dialogue script, and not the vastly more complicated one triggered by succeeding in Release/Subjugate/Escort. Erratic non-reproducible results like that sort of points to script lag. Sometimes it can be aided by building in minor delays that allow the processor to catch up to what's being ordered. Will experiment.

Wolfshrike Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 on E ver, now. Still no paper from Brina. Found and rescued captives in... the one dungeon with the pale lady, I forget the name off top. Apparently though that wasn't the correct camp, so it's back to hunting to try to clear the pale from the quest log. Also ran into a minor conflict with another mod in Robber's gorge- Buxom Wench Yuriana places a bunch of captives there as well, and some of them overlap with SBC captives. Pretty minor overall, I think, since everyone could still be interacted with (And, to be frank, BWY isn't a mod I tend to use every playthrough anyway...) but figured I'd report it as a conflict anyways.

Sounds like you still have at least one live bandit somewhere. You could also try exiting the cave, and coming back in if you are sure that you have killed them all.

The place is a circle of a route with bridges crossing the two sides in two places. If you go to the boat straight from the entrance, not going up to the left after the first ramp, there's a guy guarding the bridge on the other side to the left. There are two guys in a room near the sunken boat as well, which you could completely avoid if you stay along the ledge and don't go inside.
Naps-On-Dirt Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 (edited) Sent to Nilheim. Talk to Telrav and offer to walk him to his camp. SBC quest updates as we approach with "find the captives in Nilheim". When the "guards" go aggro I cast Rage at them and chase down Telrav. When he's finally dead, the last two guards are finished off quickly. I enter the tower and hear the actual last guard hit the captive. I run up and engage him and kill him too (though accidentally hit the captive with a shield bash that was not aimed at her, stupid Skyrim) but the quest does not update that I've found her, and she says I have to kill them all before I can help her. I've searched the area and am pretty sure there are no bandits left, and this new version doesn't have the option to tell the captive not to worry about finding the last guy. Edit: I fast travelled to Riften then back to Nilheim in hopes that re-entering the cell would reset stuff and make her see that the bandits are all dead, but it changed nothing. llelx Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 (edited) EDIT: fixed after making my character dance Hi having a pretty good run with 0.98e on SE, the bugs I had earlier were fixed and I got through the 2 quests. I've managed to break my player character a little though, probably after equipping dormant restraints briefly: When trying to use workbench, tanning rack, enchanting table it cancels right after the UI appears character will briefly pose like a captive with arms behind back for a moment and then stand normally My character was walking around in that pose for brief moments at one point but that's gone have tried various things to shake it off but I'm not having any luck Edited April 15, 2022 by llelx
