anjenthedog Posted December 16, 2021 Posted December 16, 2021 Ok, so I have a CBBE-3BBB based female,appended by a 3BBB/3BA "Buffy the vampire slayer" racemenu preset (heavily modded by me afterwards) who appears with golden skin, either from donning a (Bodyslide fitted) slot-32 body piece, but also interestingly enough, when I first enter the game while she's sleeping in bed (I use goto sleep, for what it's worth) This is her when I enter the game Spoiler Now, when I get up, her proper texture is applied as the final step of whatever Go to bed is doing to re-cloth her, no matter if she was wearing Armor prior, or if I'd put her to bed after taking a shower (taking a shower strips everything she's wearing, but does not result in gold skin on slot 32). Spoiler Does anyone have a clue why this would be happening? Does this set of symptoms give anyone an "aha!" that I might use to solve the issue? It's not so terrible for the bed issue since the act of getting up solves it (although it might help with the other problem of when I put anything other that nip jewelry or a fur over (poncho, coat, or shoulder piece, none of which actually use slot 32), her skin goes golden and I have to enter racemenu for its renderer to clean up the texture issue. PS> just for clarity, when I get into bed she does not lose her proper texture. Nor does she lose it just with the act of sleeping when I stay in game. it's only if I save and exit with her still in bed that that particular issue comes up upon the next load of the savefile. With the other part... putting on armor clothing to slot-32 though it's every time now. aurreth Posted December 16, 2021 Posted December 16, 2021 I used to see that effect from Wet Function Redux. Had to do with missing textures, so the specular map was being applied (the shiny effect from being wet), but not the actual wetness textures.

Hi and thanks for the reply Yes, as well, (also from the tanning option in BOSSE if it gets dinged) but that (and BOSSE) has been gone from my install for a very long time (since 1.5.80/2.0.16), far longer than the emergence of this issue. - oh, and for whatever, I'm still running under SE 1.5.97/SKSE 2.0.17 if that matters or helps anyone, not a 1.6x or AE issue.

She'd "taken a shower" before bed so was naked when she entered bed and left. But nonetheless, I had no clothing of any sort on at the time. I entered bed fully naked and left it the same way. Having said that. if you are serious, can you offer more details? thanks

belegost Posted December 17, 2021 Posted December 17, 2021 I've seen this in my games as well. It sometimes happened after importing an Oldrim racemenu preset on a new SSE game, not always though. I have no idea what might've caused it, as it would be about 50/50 chance for it to occur. Once I had it happen after importing my own, SSE-made human preset to an elf race, but it would not occur again after restarting the game and importing again. Every time I had it happen it was exclusively on a new game, when making a character. The way I got around this problem was just exporting all the known Oldrim presets I had again and saving them in SSE RaceMenu as new ones and using those. Any chance you're using The Pure skin texture? Because I had it happen only with this one (not that I tested with others - this is my favourite and I ditched Leyenda for it without a second thought).

The hands feet and face use separated files. So if you only replace body, you'll get 2 different textures because you're missing the hands feet and face. Try to install demoniac (i use it with zero issues, with bijin, pan and fresh women) and see if it overwrites multiple files. Could you make a acreenshot of the textures you have in the female folder? Last, but something you probably don't want to do, test on your own created character instead of a preset.

I'll dig into the various texture mods I've archived and see if they offer any "default.dds" I can use to replace it. It's the singular instance of a file that doesn't exist on my system (in this preset). My /character/female folder is rather cluttered (I have a muscles by weight mod that adds a lot of extra stuff, and a small group of folders that have various stuff in it for working on my character and several followers) Spoiler Now I'll try a different tack and drop a direct copy of my femalebody_1.dds into the folder (after removing the fake "default.dds" file), then changing the name from "default" to "femalebody_1" in the preset >>>> Update: That was a bust. I got the same gd golden body on load.

Both failed. the first left me with afflicted face hands and feet (but normal body) and the second with golden skin again. But this path is leading somewhere. just not sure where to place my figurative feet quite yet. thanks for the reply.
