are there any other games besides skyrim that have good sex mods etc?

Well, TBH in my point of view Skyrim is one of the best/easiest games to mod, for both creators and users of mods. That's one of the reasons, I think, why a buggy mess like Skyrim still is that successful, after 10 years.

Bethesda games in general are a good modding foundation, but they all share more or less the same methods, as the engine is similar (at least for the newer ones)

 

Sims (4) has quite a big community in this forum, too, though I've personally never played it, so I don't know what's possible.

 

The Witcher 3 seems to be moddable, too, but there it seems to be mostly textures that get replaced. To be fair, the game itself already offers sex scenes.

 

From there on, most games seem to be quite conservative/dismissive when it comes to modding. For some there are "hacks" or tools that replace some small stuff like textures, but I don't know of any game besides the Bethesda ones, where it's possible to build completely new mechanics into the game.

Honestly I think the Sims 4, and to a lesser degree, Crusader Kings (2&3, although 3 is still kind of in it's infancy) is the best for sex-mods for a number of reasons.

 

1. Unlike Skyrim, sex is already an important part of vanilla gameplay, even if it is hidden behind cutesy "WooHoo" in Sims and abstracted in CK. Sex will always be tacked on in Skyrim. Yeah, there are mods that try to integrate it into actual gameplay in various ways, but in the end Skyrim is about going into dungeons and killing stuff. CK and Sims are about family, and making a family, which makes sex an important gameplay mechanic, not just a visual spectacle.

 

2. The sims in particular has a HUGE amount of animations (I am approaching 9000 animations, and I'm not even a patron of any of the animators), and the game is specifically MADE to account for several characters interacting in synchronized animations.

 

3. If you want to play a sex-centered playthrough in, say, skyrim, for example you want to play as a hooker, you are basically removing 99% of the game's content outside of the modded stuff. In the Sims, it's just another active career to try out with the right mods, and everything else the game has to offer can still be a part of your playthrough.

for me ive spent hours on hours to try to download mods only for something to not work. ive only once gotten that fine balance where everything worked as intended. took me hours. then that changed when i installed skyrim on a faster harddrive and had to try to reintall some of the mods and shit and then it was just a shit show from that point forward

You're on LoversLab - probably THE best place to find game mods of a sexual nature. Considering the success of the site and the amount of mods available, I'd say you've hit the jackpot - but for whatever reason - The results you experience tells me you are NOT reading everything concerning the use of the mods you've downloaded - or everyone would be having the same issues.

 

Adding mods to a game on a system that is running at less than recommended specifications much less required, is the first step towards having a 'shit show'.

 

 

Understanding the mods works fine, many use them, and the problem is at your end somewhere is not a negative - it means you have the capability to make it right.

Sims 4 is pretty solid.

 

Wicked Whims is a fantastic framework with a wealth of customisation options not just linked to explicit content. Some great animations in there too, not sure I'd even play the game without WW at this point to be honest. 

 

I was always of the belief that The Sims should have moved forward as more of an adult franchise anyway.

 

It's also ridiculously easy to mod, with script mods sitting directly in the mod folder, Packages (Clothes, items etc) can be easily organised by the user as well. I think the key issue with TS4 would lie in how often game updates will break some mods, especially popular ones. Truth be told though, the mod creators get updated versions out rather quickly more often than not, so it's just a case of putting Origin into offline mode prior to updating your game.

I never considered Crusader Kings at all with modding. I actually have that game. Maybe i should give it a try.

My view was mostly, sexy game ~ Bethesda/Sims

Of the sims i find Sims 3 somewhat better as it has more options to engage in sex acts. Sims 4 always appeared to me as a the not so naughty version. But that is just my opinion really.

I can't speak for CK2 but CK3 isn't worth the hassle IMO. There's only a handful of 'sex' mods and the quality is nowhere near Skyrim/Sims level. You can have a quick scan through the few pages (3?) of mods here on LL to see what is available.

Koikatsu is really fun game. I had the English version for a long time. Actually trying to not have sex in it is a challenge since eventually the girls start becoming more aggressive. Honey Select 2  is sort of boring as the animations are fixed. The game has no purpose other than sex.

Yeah, that's true, but also kind of the point. You don't turn CK into a porn game, you just add another minor mechanic that fits with the rest of the game. You are still playing CK, not trying to change it into a different game. My experience is that when I add adult mods to game where it doesn't fit the gameplay, like Skyrim, it either takes over the gameplay, and turns it into another game, or I ignore it. I'm sure it's possible to find a good middle ground where you are just playing Skyrim with added naughty interludes, but I, personally atleast, have never managed that.

 

I'm not against adult modding in Skyrim, I've played the mods and enjoyed them, but in my view they fundamentally just doesn't fit into the genre as well as adult mods can do where it becomes a legitimate part of the core game, and has a core mechanical purpose of reproduction of player characters. In the end it's just about what you want out of your game of course. If a visual spectacle, basically porn, is what you want to get out of adult modding a more graphical game like Skyrim is obviously superior though.

In 5 years I have never played vanilla Skyrim  - to me it is a crap game from any angle. Skyrim is nowhere as bad as CK3 though. After less than 2 months I've pretty much given up on CK3.
