INI files are right. It worked when I took the pics for class! I don't know what happened! Guess I gotta peel back until it works, CRAP! I'll take a look at the Paplog, see what I can see. Be back!

Bluegunk Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 (edited) Infinite loading screen. That was my problem with my dead game. I never got to the "Continue / New" menu. After which, of course, a mod designed for AE destroyed it. In my case it was two things: first a mod that for some reason would not fire up. Second a mod that looked for an ESP master, but I had turned that master into an ESPFE so it could not 'connect' with it. Have you ESPFE'd any mods recently that might have another mod depending on them? Just a thought. Edited December 1, 2021 by Bluegunk

Bluegunk Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 Paplogs don't really give much clue. They're pretty much useless for this sort of thing. SKSE logs are better. I expect you'll have to inch back from the latest installed. Any missing masters? That can give an infinite load. A broken DLL can, too, but that's more unlikely. It's possible - given the experiences you 'suffered' with Vortex - that a mod might not have installed right. It might be worth checking the installation of recent mods to make sure stuff is where it is supposed to be.

That's the trouble with infinite loading screen before the menus, the logs don't really get going. So sadly it is down to leg-work. You must have become used to mods you know work OK. So, have you any new ones? Odd ones you are trying out? Sometimes these infinite load screens are memory leaks from faulting DLLs. You haven't sneaked in an LE mod? Or LE HDT? Bluegunk Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 Hmmm. That's not getting very far. Have you tried switching off Bugfixes? That log is so small that whatever is stalling the game is happening in the earliest stages of load it.
