Halstrom Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 In vanilla you can't pick and choose which hardcore features you wantWhich was a terrible design decision. You're giving the player the option between having five interesting new things and one annoying one, or not getting any of them. Well I did upload a non-aids version of SexoutSTD's as well, but for the latest update, it's only a matter of setting a AIDSOn flag in the main script to 0, if that's what people are refering to when they said it's not working, there was more than one person that did request AIDS added and even in the AIDS version it only does damage in Hardcore mode. people should be voicing issues/comments like that in the SexoutSTD's thread, they hadn't so I assumed everything was all happy.
Odessa Posted February 13, 2014 Author Posted February 13, 2014 @Halstrom: They are referring to the STDs that are now included in this mod, as we discussed because you said you didn't want that mod any more. Sorry, ought to have pm'd you to let you know I'd actually released it.. since it took me a while I'm not using the sexual disease treatment kits from SCR, perhaps they can be removed, or maybe I should overwrite them? @ Zippy: sorry, I phrased that comment rather childishly and the gameplay wasn't the only point you had issue with.. I've only had about 10 hours sleep this week. I'm swapping AIDS for a disease with a tribal background, which will fit better and be more interesting.
Halstrom Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Yeah I saw you had added it, I try to keep up with what everyone's mods are up to. I thought they were referring to the original mod, as I said, I think it's great you've added this into Wear and Tear it fits in well and saves one less esp for everyone and you will go further with it than I would have gone, I had too much on my plate You can overwrite the STD kits if you like, let me know if you need any variations added or send an esp I can merge into SCR if you like, but as I think I have done we keep the scripting in the Wear and Tear. You could even put an IsModLoaded warning message telling people it's silly to run both. I would only leave STD's there as a skeleton for people that didn't want Wear and Tear, but if you eventually offered the option for people to disable everything except STD's I wouldn't see a point in even keeping it available at all, by itself it's not a hugely popular mod by any means, yours is going to kick it's arse and it would just create confusion at times I suspect
Odessa Posted February 13, 2014 Author Posted February 13, 2014 Yeah, its impressive how many mods you manage to maintain. I actually already have the option to disable all the parts of the wear and tear side so you only get STDs, and I included a check to throw a message if you load your .esp at the same time. I'll overwrite the STD kits for the time being to avoid confusion
Halstrom Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Yeah, I know it had been suggested in the past to diversify STD kits more into stuff like Penicillin, Crab Wash, Rash Cream etc. maybe even a hard to get AIDS cure. So let me know when you are ready if you want to do that. And we can put the base assets in SCR.
XanonZ Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 So... I use WearNTear, I should not use SO-STD anymore. Correct (unless I turn that feature off in W&T)?
Odessa Posted February 24, 2014 Author Posted February 24, 2014 Yes, they shouldn't be used together, wear and tear will complain if you do.
herpman Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 I'm surprised to have searched this thread for the word "Fisto", expecting some special rules being applied, and came up empty.
Trebor2 Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Does the new STD feature account for condom use? We really should practice safe sex you know
Odessa Posted March 2, 2014 Author Posted March 2, 2014 The French Wannabe is too pretentious to drink those (as he says, he only drinks wine from Bordeaux, but there isn't any in the Wasteland), he won't drink beer or scotch either, but there is another alcohol that was popular in France once upon a time... although they don't sell it at Gomorrah.. its green, and strong. Otherwise, you could use Mentats to boost your int.
icladel Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Im not sure what happened but W&T tracking seems to have stopped. The first time I installed this, it worked. I started a new character and now it isn't tracking various conditions. Even after going through a legion camp/soliciting/working casinos, all three areas remain as "Good". (No lube, and started on very first sex scene) (Note: STD's is working and the Quest works fine) However, I do still get certain status effects. I managed to rack u p the "Loose" condition after a mutant... But are status effects meant to correspond to the MCM Status? Cheers
Odessa Posted March 2, 2014 Author Posted March 2, 2014 The MCM status is how close you are to getting a busted effect. They indicate what effects you might get from sex, but don't directly correspond. If you're getting the other effects then its working, you generally need to have a lot of sex in a short time to get the worst effects. Healing is based on gametime, endurance and a few other factors.
icladel Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 OK. Awesome I'll keep an eye on it then. Cheers BTW. Very good mod
Odessa Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 Uploaded V3.2 to OP - Fix for doctors following you across wasteland to give STD test results (packages are so much fun!) - Fix for doctors not starting test result dialogue some of the time - Added MCM option to automatically use lube for consensual anal - Increased effects of lube on anal (penalty for not using + bonus for using) - Reduced the price of lube - Added MCM option to disable AIDS only (I still intend to change it to a fictional wasteland disease, but I've been busy with Soliciting) - Overwrites SCR disease kits with penicillin 7-day - Some misc tweaks and fixes EDIT: Are the STDs working, has anyone caught one? They all worked when I tested them, but I was skipping game time via the console rather than playing the game for lots of hours.
Hedlum Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Just wondering, is "Unknown Lbs. -1" in the status effects part of this mod? I've had my character tested for every disease and she came up negative on each one. (Sorry if this was asked before. Tried searching the forum but every time I did the page crashed for some reason.)
Odessa Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 No, that is added by Pregnancy. It means you might be pregnant.. better buy a bubspot test kit
Hedlum Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Oh.... Well then... That takes a load off my mind but adds an entirely different one. >.>
RitualClarity Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Oh.... Well then... That takes a load off my mind but adds an entirely different one. >.> Mazel tov....
AkivaValika Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Oddly specific question... Let's say I catch an STD... It's in incubation for now, and I go to the Big MT to do that chain, only to, at some point, get the disease start causing me troubles. The autodoc there can fix me, right? More general question: Could you pay for one of your companions visit to the doc to get his penicilin shot if he/she is sick?
Odessa Posted March 17, 2014 Author Posted March 17, 2014 No, the autodoc can't fix you. Perhaps it should, and plotwise/sciencewise (?), the STDs shouldn't affect you without a heart or brain. Unfortunately it is difficult to support OWB without making it a mod dependency, and some people don't have it. The workaround is to disable STDs via the MCM until you get your body parts back, disabling this way doesn't cure any of them, but stops their effects. When you reenabled they will start working again. To treat a companion or any NPC, put the meds in their inventory. They will not use them immediately, but they will take one after ~6 or ~12 gamehours when the script updates and then keep taking them again daily when they're due. I'll add a note about that to the OP.
Loogie Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 It's a 4 year old game. If someone doesn't have the DLC there's no excuse.
Hedlum Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 It's a 4 year old game. If someone doesn't have the DLC there's no excuse. While it's a bit harsh, I'd have to agree. I'm a penny pincher if there ever was one and even I have all the DLC to this game. Hell I bought all the DLC for Oblivion a few years back even though I haven't played it for like five. XD (Steam sales. I can't resist them. >.< )
Loogie Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Might have come off as a bit harsh, but come on - the DLCs routinely go on sale for $2.50 apiece and I've seen the entire Ultimate Edition go on sale for $5 once. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect players to have the four main DLCs and GRA. Especially if my prediction is right and TTW becomes the defacto default for playing Fallout.
RitualClarity Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 It's a 4 year old game. If someone doesn't have the DLC there's no excuse. I believe Pride stated in the past he didn't have the DLC's... Edit: Apparently he does... Unfortunately it is difficult to support OWB without making it a mod dependency, and some people don't have it. Create a patch esp? SexoutWearandTearOWB.esp ?
