I thought about putting something similar on the home page. By telling me which route they are following I already have a more complete picture. The specific quest is something that people always report.

 

Now, taking the last user as an example, is their first message and from what I can see, had no problem getting to the end of the content. Norita's route is pretty solid and usually takes intervention from another mod to cause bugs.

Yes, Commonwealth Slavers is only compatible with Nora's route.
NR tracks whether you were in Commonwealth Slavers, and when you resurrected Duke and chose Norita's route, you created an conflict in the NR scenario.

Disable/Enable was one of the first things I tried, but it does not help here.  
I just spam e all around her hitbox and.... nothing.
Maybe I found an odd edge case and I should just re-start without doing CS at all. Restarting is such a hefty chunk of time,  but I might have to do it anyway. 


Currently, I am careful to make sure just the one specific stage that is blocking me is completed via console, everything else so far behaves correctly, no bugs no glitches :)
 

It's not a report I've ever gotten. But you're definitely the first I know to try Slavers + Norita, and you may have noticed that lore reason are not compatible, so, without assuring you, that could be a cause (I don't quite see how...). In any case, type "resurrect" on her could help you.

Look at the aliases. Alias "Sophie" is filled? Or does it say None?

 lol, that bug doesn't ring a bell, but it may be enb that is playing weird with the house lighting.  

 

The visual effect of "Doberman" by the way does not work if Music has glasses on. No idea why, probably because of the material it uses. So I'd say that visual bug doesn't come from Fallout, but from an external element. Type "Resurrect" in Music and she will appear with her glasses.

moveto player works too as it gets her away from the scooters' use marker.

If JB has her lean against the booth vs sitting on the scooter it permanently fixes that.

Swapping a static scooter until the end of the conversation should work too, and keeps the player from using the scooter before talking to Sophie.

Let me know if you want any follow-up on what happens if I do, as I fully understand that what I've done is/was not a legitimate event flow. Best not divert too much attention to it.

The alias is there , all seems to be correct in that regard.
No improvement on being able to initiate any dialogue with Sophie, on any sequence combination of enable/disable/kill/resurrect done in any order.

Yeah I don't think his bug is NR related at all. I have the same thing with worsins powerarmor garrage. Its world space have the same issue. I have a feeling it could be lighting mods causing that as I know for a fact that it worked before. I would disable the lighting mods and load that save and check what it does. Should be easy to find the culprit

Yeah, ignore that. I erm... forgot about our dear American cousins' renowned inability to spell 'Harbour' properly lmao. Thanks JB, it worked like a charm lol

My bad. I thought you already had the latest version installed. Apparently you still have an older version.

Hey guys, so something really weird just happened. Everything was running fine (seriously, I reckon this was the most stable my FO4's ever been) & an AAF scene froze on me. No biggie, I figured. I'll just shut down & restart my game. Only now, whenever I try to start F4SE through MO2 nothing happens. I get a black screen for a while but then, instead of the game starting as per always, it's just shutting down & it's closing Steam in the process. Hope no one minds me asking here, only I don't know where else to ask. Has anyone got the faintest idea what might be happening or how I might fix it please, as I've never encountered this issue before? I tried booting up Elden Ring via its mod organizer to see if it was a general Steam issue but that worked fine so I'm clueless. Any assistance would be gratefully received, thanks.

Were you running old gen FO4 ? It might have updated to next gen. The fact that it closes steam tho is pretty weird. Open your original fo4 folder and under data check if there are any CC content files.

ehj, I don't have a clue.   I'm thinking along the same lines as you, but I can't find the culprit.  I tried shutting down any lighting or visual effect mods I had one by one, and even a couple more, but so far, no luck.

Hey @osculim check this out.

 

 

I was fiddling around in game, and noticed this by accident.  If you look through the shower glass from the inside, it gets rid of the black shadow.   I spun it to where it was half and half so you can see.   

 

maybe this will help give an idea of what is causing it, just thought I'd let ya know.

EDIT:   I played with dynamic cinema lighting a few minutes with the in game holotape menu, and looked all through the MCM, but still could not find anything.  But if you look through that shower door, that has a water drop effect, it fixes the problem, even on other characters.

I'm sure if JB makes it so that at the end of NR the game gives 3 popups and then exits to the main menu. There will still be people who will say they have a bug - the game just exits to the main menu.
It's such a funny world we live in.

 

I don't know why. For the most part it has worked pretty flawless until JB broke everything with 6.7 :)  (And of course NG breaking Fallout 4 modding entirely) But it was worth breaking and now we await his next update.

In the worsins garage for example if you looked at one of the powerarmors it would be fine in that room but as soon as you enter one it would turn black. I think it basically the same thing what you are seeing with the mirror. Anything that is not you looks fine. I will be doing some more testing today It might just be shadow settings aswell.

i still play on the old gen version (i will not go to next gen until i have no choice as i have 5-15 mods that have not yet switched over including some quest mods).

 

for those interested in having both CS and NR in the same playthrough i will put how i do it in a spoiler and will say that so far it works

for CS 2.5.7 and NR 6.7.6 (both Nora and Norita routes).  i have not hit any bugs not reported by multiple other users.

 

mental gymnastics for roleplaying are dependent on individual playing the game.

 

it does take a little bit of pre-work and using a mod manager that will let you change profiles on the same savegame.

i use MO2 and i know it works there and should work with Vortex (but cannot confirm).

in my games i use a total of 6 profiles:

 

everything i plan to use while playing is installed (Left pane of MO2) but not yet active (right pane of MO2 aka Plugins)  i did it this way so that it keeps should not mess up RefIDs.  so far as i have been able to tell this process works.

 

1 - basics - no DD stuff -      this is everything i can load n pre-war Sanctuary that does not require DD/KFT toolset.  it includes body replacers, texture replacers and even includes most AAF related mods (but not quite all yet), Real Handcuffs and Torture Devices, and more.

 

2 - DD enabled - most DD related mods Deviously Cursed Wasteland (i like a couple of its quests).

 

3 - Commonwealth Slavers - anything i can have installed while playing CS leaving just a few more mods to add.  stuff not yet installed is followers (i have Ivy, Heather Casdin, Ellen the Recorder, and Curie/Piper 2B replacer), Commonwealth Captives, Milking Human Kindness, Cursed DD Enchantings (redux), Nuka Ride, and the patches for those mods.

 

4 - Post CS - rest of stuff not yet installed that i want to play. this one activates the followers, MHK, and Commonwealth Captives.

 

5 - Nuka Ride - everything is active except Cursed DD Enchantings (i just have not played with it enough to be sure when to activate it).

 

6 - Post NR - activates the Cursed DD Enchantings mods.

 

special mods i have installed that make a noticeable difference include mods that prevent the DLC quests from starting until i start them, the one that prevents Confidence Man from starting until Nick is Rescued, and the one that delays Deegan from starting the Cabot House questline.  i got them all from Nexus.

 

Method of Play

 

during play i make sure to NOT advance the main questline, Confidence Man, Cabot House questline or start any of the DLCs.

i also do not harm any of the vanilla NPCs if i can avoid it.

 

using Profile 1

 

start new game (and wait out notifications as it tend to be a bunch at this time)

play until after talking with Vault-Tec Rep and Codsworth asks me to go see to baby.

do not go to baby yet. set all MCMs. make a hard save (i do this through console so i can give it a special name).

exit to desktop

 

Switch to Profile 2

 

load last savegame

wait out notifications

save game in new slot

load just made save game (necessary for DD to fully initialize)

adjust new MCMs (usually just have DD and DCW needing adjustment) for me i turn everything i can in DCW off as i just want the Belted + Alice in Chains quests.

make a new hard save (i do the console thing again)

leave Vault 111 and claim Sanctuary (just open the workshop and close build mode as this prevents a possible vanilla bug).

turn on AN76 (needs mod as i really REALLY dislike a couple of parts of Bugstheda Survival Mode).

play game until DCW Belted quest is complete.

i tend to go to Drumlin Diner (as i have to anyway) and solve the Trudy/Wolfgang situation peacefully (have both left alive).

as i have Settler of the Commonwealth installed i usually send Bob and Pumpkin to Sanctuary as they are near Drumlin Diner and can/will conflict with CS if not moved.

give Bob and Pumpkin jobs as farmers for now.

i usually make a save in Sanctuary then go into Vault 111 and make another hard save (Console again)

drop to desktop

 

Switch to Profile 3

 

load last savegame

adjust CS MCM (NR is NOT active yet at this point because if it is Duke will get messed up)

play game until CS is fully finished

do any require cleanup from CS (usually just sticking some junk i collected along the way and assigning Ivana (enslaved with Just Business) to a settlement.

make a save in Sanctuary then go into Vault 111 again and make a hard save (console for naming).

drop to desktop

 

Switch to Profile 4

 

load last savegame

adjust MCMs

as i now have custom followers available i leave Sanctuary and get the notifications for the start of the recruitment quests.  i do have to go to Diamond City and talk to a NPC outside the Dugout Inn so that Ellen will work right when recruited.

play MHK and if i am pregnant at the end i just build up Sanctuary until pregnancy ends.

save game in Sanctuary again and another hard save in Vault 111 (console for naming again)

drop to desktop

 

Switch to Profile 5 (woot time for NR)

 

load last savegame

adjust NR MCM

leave Vault 111

talk to Duke (as he has never been in the game until this point i can do either the Nora or Norita route)

play NR until end of current content

make a save

make a special hard save (console for naming) so i can roll back to just this point when NR updates again)

drop to desktop

 

Switch to Profile 6

 

load last savegame

adjust MCM (just Cursed DD Enchantings for me)

play game 

 

as far as when i pick up Ivy, Heather, and Ellen it tends to vary depending on mood.  so far i have not had them interfere while playing NR if i pick them up before starting NR.

and yes i have been able to do Ivy's full questline whether i get her before or after starting NR.

Yes, I haven't updated (nor do I have any intention of doing so) & just checked, there are no CC content files in there. I was worried maybe Steam were trying to force me to update or something, similar to how they did with Skyrim a couple of years ago but it's still saying 'update required' so no. I'm totally stumped. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Yeah I had steam updating FO4 regardless of it being blocked and my exe's protected from writing. The new downgrade procedure changes another file from steam that prevents that from happening.

Ok my problem is gone. I still haven't found exactly what the issue is but its something to do with shadow setting in my ini. I just use the new betheni and messed around with the shadows and the problem went away.

Someday I'll figure out how we can break it by simply moving, but this has been the case with me for a long time now. 

 

The "caf" console command clears the current idle animation as well.

Winner "happy ending". Winner says they will respect v status, but then plays NR_FM_Human_NukaBed02_Staged which does not match what he says he would do. IIRC - the first time poker game for this play through happened for winner, it DID follow with what the winner said he would do. Multiple reloads and different winners, say result.

 

Just wanted to mention, don't hold up the next story update! :D

If you done the anal training with the OB they will do anal with you in the bed.

The error is more because the anal training is 100. When it has that value there should be anal sex, but it's vaginal by mistake.  Already fixed it for the next one. 

 

This reminds me that I have to do the voices for the poker winner. It's a tricky thing when there are several possible actors, but I think I've got the hang of it.

 

For the next update I already have 5 quests finished. But I have 3 more to go.

I have finally found the way, although I have to see one by one if it is convenient for me to change them or not. There are some idles that I'd better leave "loop forever". Like when the girl waits while the others eat lunch when she works as a maid, or dance idles. But there are many others that should be non-loop.
