AAF Nuka Ride: A Porn Studio Mod

Nuka Ride 6.5 Voices by Axary (xVASynth ) and Kalistara (11labs) 1.1, in the Optional Files Folder

  • Fixed some inconsistencies in player's voices. 
  • Added voices for Katelyn with Elevenlabs. But I used up the quota -now- so like 90% of her dialogues were dubbed.

@JB. Good god, you have an absolutely amazing sense of story telling, on top of excellent Creation Kit wrangling-skills. NR and CS are both excellent. Played CS, then came to check out NR6.4.

 

Both are really very good, and do a lot of what a professional game studio Bethesda didn't manage to do in the base game. (It's called pacing Bethesda! Don't have me fight a Deathclaw in power armour at the opening of the game, because now all hint of challenge is lost!). So actually quite enjoying the slow pace of 6.5.

 

The 'Training Day' quest did stand out as a bit of a lurch in tone, though. I suspect this might be the result of coming from speaking with Corsican ('I'm going into porn') then straight to Katelyn ('I don't know about working in a titty bar'), and trying to mash NR6.4 into the new story in NR6.5. Which you mentioned about the incongruities in the 6.5 post so I do see what you mean.

 

Only really stands out due to the overall excellent quality of everything else.

 

Thinking about it, I do have a story structure suggestion to massage over this. But I know it really means 'hey, do all this work' ?, so I'll put it below.

  • Katelyn offers the girls caps to clean and move stuff into the bar (and nothing else), at the first meeting.
  • Whilst cleaning they see the slaves practising their moves.
  • After cleaning they find the stuff to move in has already been done by the BoS (I dunno, they arrived early or something, and it shows they're not a pack of dicks and introduces them to the girls in a non-sexual, innocence-preserving, way, if that is something you'd consider for the story).
  • Sophie and the PC, now having time on their hands, end up in conversation with the slaves and begin practicing moves themselves (badly, obviously). 
  • Katelyn enters the bar and explains that she's spoken to Brett and they can do some waitressing (I can now imagine a horrified reaction for her to enter as Sophie is pole dancing!).
  • So now the BoS boys are expecting the PC and Sophie to be there but not as the entertainment and they are off-limits, just waitresses or something.
  • The events in 'Training Day' then proceed more or less as they do already. Maybe Katelyn goes out to look for the slaves herself and comes back with the Overboss to find Sophie and the PC have ... acted on their own initiative.

I'd see that as a more naturalistic and gentler introduction that makes sense in context, and preserves the excellent 'slow boil' you've got going for NR6.5. But it is just a suggestion; not making requests here.

 

Whatever your plans are with NR, this is an excellent mod. Really looking forward to seeing how you progress this. I mean, I lost my champion lurker status just for this mod! ?

Just to be clear I wasn't suggesting another route at all or that you change anything, only add. I was suggesting that the PC might just hear a little more about the studio while working on the farm, probably during one of her trips into the park, just to set up her wanting the job a little more. I agree that it would make no sense to download this mod and then not accept the offer. When we meet Corsican, we have heard some things from Sophie about Duke but I think that's about it. Of course, whatever she hears would need to tempt to her to want to the job and then maybe she has a daydream (or actual dream) about it before meeting Corsican. But the way the story is right now is fine, too. I understood that the PC was uncomfortable in her new life and I got why she jumped at the chance to be a porn star and to be the OB's pup. It's just that some people like more of build-up and this was just a suggestion to achieve that.

I didn't even plan for it to have submission and rebellion routes, the mod grew and added things by user suggestions. I took on a new commitment. I never wrote a branching story, do you have any idea how complicated it is? Take your main character and start giving him multiple personalities and try to keep the sanity (both you and your character). 

 

But I did it because I was happy to take on the challenge. This was just a simple story because I didn't want to complicate it with ramifications since I was quite afraid of Creation Kit, but I added things as I learned to program, and especially learned to narrate in CK, because it's not the same writing a book than writing for this mod, but it seems you already know it all because of the lightness with which you demand ramifications and reprogramming.

Look, I'll tell you something. I really liked an idea you gave me for that Gage quest. The OB at that point is still a "pimp", but it's true that you are his "bitch" and there should be benefits. I loved it and to this day I think about changing it. I did not respond because I have this policy of not responding to anyone who does not maintain a minimum of cordiality when referring to my work, Policy I'm breaking now because I'm fed up.

 

I know I will change it. But it's not a matter of snapping my fingers, or closing my eyes really tight, to make it happen. I don't know if you get what I'm saying. What you're asking for is not simple. It will take months, but I want to do it because I like it. 

 

Again, this mod grows and grows by user input. I simply have to put up with the venom of some who never contributed anything / have no idea of programming / want to give me classes of storytelling. Just like Justine did. 

You're a good person  to respond so kindly to my rant.  I think I see amazing potential in your creation too, and get emotional about it. Thanks for taking it with a grain of salt, because the entire concept is amazingly creative and immersive. It is easy to find "oversights" when I am not the one doing the actual work.  Anyhow, you have a fan in me.  Great work, soon,, I'll be trying the expansion.  I'm hooked.

 

PS: yeah, I am using Harassment, attributes,  Horizon Outcast, timescale half, and every trigger AAF and Theme mod available including Beggar Whore.  I can see how things get very complex as more and more detailed systems impact such unique story line as NR.

The Morality Thing:  Force the player to consider others he/she cares about in rebellious dialog.  If you can figure out a way to threaten people/animals /settlements  the player cares about.  Morality.  Consider the effect on others.

 

Regarding Likeable OB:  Yeah, making the Overboss more possessive, like the option during plastic surgery quest , to NOT get it;, expertly done.  If the OB is obsessively defensive of his Bitch, and doesn't like sharing her, you strike a likeable and realistic Human emotion that becomes "respectable" .  Such tiny personality changes like that make the OB more complex and peaks curiosity. 

  Adding to this, I can imagine the ultimate punishment for "misbehaving " being sending her to "abduction" site , while the Overboss hates to do it, and hopes she survives , but admits she is out of his control.  He should , deep inside, want her to love him, and obey him out of  loving respect rather than just fear, so hurting those she loves should probably be an empty threat, that the player can explore. 

 

Anyhow,, thanks for such a thoughtful response.  Keep up the good work.

Question regarding NR 6.4,, I want to begin using other , conflicting mods, and have finished all of what I wanted for this toon.  Is it best to just avoid NT, or end it by entering the Transit station, or killing some raiders and starting a war?  I tried a couple times , both those options, but the Nuka Town inhabitants never regained their AI, and just stood there.

So, to continue onto other mods, I just avoid NT?   Or end the mod?  I don't want to lose my NR clothing.  And tattoo access is nice to.  But will Hardship (Beggar Whore) and such mods cause me problems if I just leave NR be?

You have a console.. ;)

And you don't lose the clothing. Well, you might forget where you put it..

If you enter the Train Station and properly end NR, all the locations will be gone except for the Apartment, which will have your sister. And the place will be back to vanilla.
Otherwise, disable via hot key or MCM the other mods when visiting NT so they don't interfere with the NR dialogue.

I love it. When I take a break from my male character. I just wish I find a g/bi for guys. NOT the same of course just similar.

Thank you very much. Hmm, I must say I'm liking it if that helps make the decision more natural. I may need a new quest after the first dinner, but before the quest where we meet the hubologists. The training quest is already "full" because I did exactly what you suggest. It was a shorter quest, but I added a new subplot (all that saving Katelyn and working in her bar), so the stages are already full. Adding stages requires updating packages, dialogue conditions. A new quest will be faster. 

 

I will seriously think about it. The idea is very good, but I must see if I am not giving too much detour. 

 

On the other hand, next year I rather want to focus on finishing this startup and connecting it with Nuka Ride, so I also have to weigh if it's worth to hold that longer.

I uploaded a new version, yesterday I reproduced the CTD on the farm, at the table at dinner time. The culprit was the CWSS patch, which had remnants of previous pre-combines. I did the cleanup and not only is it fixed, but it feels like it runs smoother. 

 

Yep, broken precombines. 

 

I also mistakenly had Ryder and Clint appear ahead of time, during the hunt. 

 

The mod will no longer remove the weapons you have in your inventory before going to the farm for the first time.

LOL thaaaat's why I didn't have that issue! I had already re-worked the patch when I added showers/toilets to a few more locations.

 

Awesome that I can keep my Vault weapons! :) I would just go back for them later. Killing Raiders IS a favorite past time ya know!

If you are using NR-6.5, which is the test version, you should read "Future plans.txt" available on its Mega.

It states:"Right now it is impossible to play the new route(young girl's route) and then start the audition."

I'am at version NR-6.4.7. I also have and finished CS first.  I am thinking of reinstalling everything but I want a less nuclear option first

Did Kaiser send you to Shank, or you come to him on your own?

Charon should bring you to Kaiser, after the conversation Kaiser will send you to Shank.

Hey, thanks for even looking at it. 

 

I could see this as a fault-line where the two different story tones of NR6.4 and the new content clash. I thought this might require the least amount of work to smooth it over, based on where I believed you intended to take it. 

 

Mainly because; honestly, if I was Katelyn waiting outside the bar, I'd still say no to the player and Sophie. I'd know what was needed, and I'd know they wouldn't have it. You have very firmly established the player's and Sophie's inexperience ?.

 

(Also, thanks for including the Hubologists in the mod. I'd forgotten about them. They're great.)

Charon brought me to Nuka world, and Kaiser just keeps telling me to talk to Shank After filming the ad, I also have the misc objective to talk to Shank about it

What are the criteria for starting _NR_Hunt07_Innuendo?

For the life of me, I can't get NR_Hunt Stage 58 to activate.

I have tried virgins, experienced, and maxed charisma and innuendo. And the Creation Kit hates me...
