What am I missing? Must be something silly, but I can't figure it out. Anyone any thoughts?

NR consists of 2 parts: Main mod + Outfits BodySlide files(CBBE or Fusion Girl depending on the body you use).

You forgot to install the second part(Outfits BodySlide files).

Ran into something weird this playthrough. I got to the Apollo quest stage where I enter Nisha's lair to get the quest to be a mule, and I've done this in at least 6 other play throughs with no problem, albeit with older versions of NR. But this time every time I walk into Nisha's room I get the message I failed Apollo and failed Becoming a Pornstar. As far as I can tell the NR mod will continue without those quests, but it's weird.

I tried restarting to an earlier point five times, but every time I approach Nisha those two quests fail this time. Here's a short film if you're curious.

I even made sure to be wearing the pink outfit just in case a normal outfit with Pornstar keyword isn't enough, but it always fails :) Just figured I'd mention this in case anyone else runs into the same thing. Again, NR seems to continue without it.

I could't replicate it. The only thing that can move Apollo to stage 200 (fail Apollo + fail Becoming a Porn Star), is if either Nisha or Solomon become aggressive by a player's attack.

Do you think there is a mod of yours that can modify the AI or behavior of the NPCs?

Hi, I thought I replied a while ago, but it's not on the forums, so maybe I misclicked. Sorry if this is double reply :)

Thanks for checking, JB. I can't think of anything which would affect those NPCs other than Nuka Ride, and they didn't seem to be aggressive. But at least it's good to know that's what you think caused the behavior. It's weird because I even reverted to an earlier save 5 times, and it keeps happening *laughs*

But as I've done NR many times in the past, it's not so bad to me to skip a few quests. I'll just keep playing Nuka Ride from the name change point then, unless you think NR is broken for this play through and that I should start over. Either way, thanks again :)

Nuka Ride 2 had a "bad" ending if you attacked Nisha, Solomon, the OB or their VIPs, but it's not much use since NR3. I'm going to remove it in the next update.

For me it would be better if you win that mission with cheat mode enabled. Load a save before asking Corsican for the quest, activate the cheat, and talk to Corsican to ask him for the quest.

Because the first problem I presume is that when "Becoming a Porn Star" failed, the mission to visit Mason wasn't activated, which will make Cito's quest unplayable.

According that vid, you have some other issues that need worked out before trying to debug NR. No offense! But how do you play it that broken?

Load order juggling will fix some of it, but not sure why you're missing vanilla outfits.

Just a small tip: When updating any mod, completely delete the old one, install the new version and start a new run. I got in a hurry & broke NR once by not doing that. ;)

Nah, Nuka Ride's been that way for me since around NR 4.0 give or take (the last 5 or 6 playthroughs). I've spent a TON of effort trying to get the walls not to go invisible and can't. I've even searched FO4Edit to see what stuff hits those cells. It's unfixable, and it's never been a problem other than aesthetic for me. Seriously, it's been that way for me for  years even when I re-install NR to force it to be last in order  and even when I uninstall anything else that touches those zones.

I had that problem with Quincy. The LOD was fine but as soon as you got close everything glitched out, like your vid.

The problem was a corrupted vanilla .ba2 file. Verifying the files in Steam didn't work because the file size never changed. I ended up deleting all the vanilla .ba2 files and letting Steam re download them.
Oh, and re-installing the whole game didn't work for some reason. Steam cache? dunno, it was years ago.

I can think of a few things excluding the typical load order.

1 You have the Nuka World DLC "cleaned up" with that F4Edit tool, whose name I can't remember now. I don't recommend it and suggest re-downloading the DLC.
2- You have some loose files in the Data/VIS folder.

I just tested deleting the Nuka World DLC ba2 files and redownloading them, and it didn't fix it. I also checked and don't see a Data/VIS folder. Honestly this doesn't bother me anymore. It's worth it to me to have missing walls outside in the Nuka World main area to have your game installed. In the past I've uninstalled everything I could think of (even Problems of Survivor and the CWSS universal fixtures mod and stuff like that), and nothing fixes it. But I'm okay with it, thanks.

I do have a theory that maybe it's a graphical card performance issue or game engine issue. I play in 4k all-ultra, so maybe there's just too much for the game engine to display out there. It doesn't matter :) I've been living with it countless playthroughs now.

On side note, I might start a new character shortly to redo Nuka Ride from the beginning. I've been thinking about the failure of those quests. Much earlier in the game I picked the pockets of some raiders.  I do that every play through, and I'm fairly certain I did not get caught. Older versions of Nuka Ride didn't mind me picking raider pockets in Nuka World (seriously I do it every single playthrough to remove the chest armor and outfits from female characters), but maybe Nuka Ride this time failed the quests because of it even though nobody was aggressive to me. *Shrugs* I'll start over. No biggie :)

I had similar issues with invisible walls in Nuka Ride and Commonwealth Slavers a few months back. It turned out to be Universal Working Bathroom Fixtures, a CWSS 4 companion mod. According to Vaultbait:

Quote

UWBF includes pre-computed visibility (previs) for the locations it modifies, so any mod which modifies things in those same locations in previs-altering ways will potentially revert the previs timestamp on the location record.

It took me several hours of troubleshooting spread over about a month to finally get it fixed. I hope this info might help in some way.

Right, it can usually be solved by adjusting load order between the competing mods, or worst case by making a patch plugin with a combined previs that integrates the meshes from all involved plugins. Or uninstall some of the mods which are conflicting with each other.

Getting familiar with FO4Edit or zEdit makes finding those record conflicts much easier.

@JB.
Does anyone else have an issue of not being able to get your sister out of power armor?
I had to cf actor.switchtopowerarmor the twit out of it. Other than that, and her energy level being to high at 70, she works very well as a companion.

Well until she walks in front of you while firing a mini nuke. ?

(don't say it.. I know there's a mod to stop that, disabled it due to an issue it has & haven't got around to fixing it yet)

I noticed that if you end the NR mod by entering the depot, the only location that is left is the surgery center and you can talk to Dr. Crocker, no response though as he's still in awe of his prefect work.

Alright, I just added a dialog to take her out of the P.A.

Heck, what did I miss?!?

After filming 4 BOS (pretty sure it's 4 maybe 3, for sure no more than 4) recruitment films with her & Lucy, she becomes a companion. You just have to talk to her. Don't be shy.. she only nibbles.

And IF you enter the train station and hard end NR, her new home will be your apartment. I believe that's regardless of having recruited her or not.

Hi, JB. Your question gave me an idea, so I extracted the VIS folder from Nuka Ride into my loose files to make sure no other archive overwrites yours (even though I always keep Nuka Ride at bottom of load order), and I still have invisible walls.

To recap:

- I used FO4Edit to make sure I have no other mods touching the cells in Nuka World

- I even (several playthroughs ago) uninstalled CWSS Universal Fixtures and did not reinstall it

- I tried enabling or disabling the Nuka Ride CWSS patch (did nothing, but tried anyway)

- I made sure your VIS folder was the only one used by making it loose files

- I deleted all Vanilla DLC ba2 files including the 52.1 Gb of HD DLC files and redownloaded all the vanilla archives

And I still have invisible walls. There's no way another mod is interfering with Nuka Ride because I got rid of anything which might try.

However, this raises a question.

I play with HD DLC. Is it possible Nuka Ride files are only for Lo-Def Fallout 4? Would they need an HDDLC version as well?

If so I don't mind. I'll keep playing with invisible walls. But I'm curious because I've been trouble shooting this for years and am completely unable to resolve the invisible walls even uninstalling anything else that touches those cells.

p.s. I don't know what "cleaned up" means, fyi, so I definitely never did that. I also didn't ever install any mod that tries to clean up anything. And this has been going on for several versions of Nuka Ride for years, so even fresh installs of nuka ride has invisible walls.

It seems like a very common practice in Skyrim, but it has generated a lot of problems with Fallout.

As for the previs, I had prepared a file for you yesterday and forgot to upload it. Only that mine has the previs and pre-combines (Data/Meshes/PreCombines/NukaWorldDLC).

I don't use the ultra textures, only with the default ones. I don't fully understand the pre-combine system but for me it's just the meshes, there are no textures involved.

Ditch that DLC, from what i gathered, it's a waste of space (mostly uncompressed textures). There are better HD textures on nexus.

Thanks for that, JB. It seemed to work significantly better than the ba2 archive versions, and I tested it walking around for several minutes.

With the ba2 archive version most of the walls disappear and stay gone (they're there at start of play through and then fade out and don't come back, and I navigate by knowing where everything is rather than seeing walls).

With the loose file version, the walls fade in and out but mostly in making it easier to see where to go and showing most of the walls at some point, though they fade out.

I did crash to desktop after a few minutes of walking around with the loose files, so I really think it might be an engine limitation or a performance issue rather than a problem with your files.

I'll keep your loose files installed, nevertheless, because I think it's more effective. Thanks :)

p.s. I think when your next version of Nuka Ride comes out I'll start a new play through from scratch setting ugrid to 5 instead of 6. I think that'll help performance but is the kind of thing that needs a fresh game to test properly.
