DoubleCheeseburger's xVASynth Based Mod Voicification Thread

Recommended Posts

Hey, thanks so much for your work here, most of the voices sound amazing.

Do you think you'd be interested in doing troubles of heroine? Since it's mostly a dialogue based mod anyways it's a pretty big element of it. It's probably somewhere between Sexlab Survival and Babo Dialogue in size.

Would suggest submissive Lola as well and its extension (extension is very small, probably below 50 lines of dialogue):

All 3 of these are have official SE versions or are SE compatible.

@Roggvir has already done a lot of work creating some voice files for Submissive Lola: The Resubmission (and he's done valuable reporting of typos in the dialog).  If you ask, he might like to make them available here (that's up to him).

(My own VASynth voice packs have been moved to its own post, link here)

BSA packed DoubleCheeseburger voice packs:

So I realized I was getting 5 minute launch times in MO2 with a couple of these installed, figured it was the file transfer speed with MO2's vfs.

I've packed most of the voice packs I'm using into BSAs which should reduce space and improve load times, for me went from 3-5 minute Skyrim launch time back to a few seconds.

- Any loose files like Sexlab Survival has should automatically overwrite since the BSA loads first. If you'd like to use the voices within the pack over the original voice files, you just need to delete the sound/voice folder within the original mod.

- Prison overhaul was the only mod that came with its own BSA, so I unpacked and merged it with the voice pack. The original BSA only had 2 texture files related to hair so I assume it will continue to work for the near future, just make sure there are no changes to POP's BSA file when installing new updated versions and it will continue to work.

- There is a notable size reduction but the obvious point of this is to reduce the file numbers. For example SL Survival's voice pack has 66,476 files and 47 folders. With Babo dialogue coming to 174,736 files.

This is brilliant thank you. I was wondering why my launch times were so long now after installing these over a few days. Feel a bit silly now ?

As for Prison Overhaul Patched 5.00 the male jailer speaks MaleEvenTonedAccented voice type. MaleEvenTonedAccented happens to be one of the few generic voice types that xVASynth is missing at the moment. This means that male jailer will be still muted. Unlucky.

But the good news is that you can easily change the voice of the jailer to MaleEvenToned, for example, using Creation Kit, xEdit (search for XX0259D5 FormID, with XX being POP's load order index of course), Lazy Tools or similar mods or tools.

I tried MaleEvenToned for the POP Jailer, but did not like it. I much prefer the MaleBrute voice for the Jailer.

Here is an ESL-flagged ESP file with one NPC override record to change the Jailer's voice to MaleBrute.

POPJailerVoice.esp

When I do future SE conversions of POP for Inte, I plan to switch the Jailer's voice to MaleBrute during my conversion process.

EDIT July 2, 2021 - MaleEvenTonedAccented is now available and sounds quite good, so I have dropped my plan to change the Jailer's voice type in future SE conversions of POP. Folks who want the Jailer's voice to be MaleBrute are welcome to use the patch provided here.

Is there a way to quickly do this for other mods?

What process did you follow to get the dialogue and match it to voices? With that knowledge, I think we can get a lot more done or at least, I could try and upload the results (if I'm allowed to) here. Further, a guide on how to set up lip syncing with CK64. Hope that's not too much to ask and it'll allow us all to do the same.

Should anyone else know the process, I'm happy to try and add voices to some of these mods via synth.

can you share the Xedit script that you use to get the lines for batching... Please   :)

Hopefully, I'll be able to share my xEdit script this weekend with some basic usage example.

Meanwhile, does anyone know if Skyrim Special Edition BSA files are backwards compatible with Legendary Edition? So far, it seems that there is no reason to not pack voice files into BSA, but Legendary Edition players would need to extract and repack files which is not so convenient.

My understanding (which could be wrong) is that the BSA file formats are different between LE and SE.

I use the BSArch tool to make BSA files, and it has different command-line options for making LE versus SE BSA files.

That sounds fantastic. I realised (pretty early on) that you were probably using some custom script to get it into a CSV format and then batch building (or something to that effect). The problem was extracting NAM 1 - Response Text from the dialogs or filtering for that only. I didn't fancy copy pasting everything myself and was hoping you'd be around to explain the process. Glad to hear you're more proficient than me and made a script for this lol.

Looking forward to it and thanks for your plentiful work already!

Thank you for making these! Mentioned both posts in the original post.

Oh well. Can't really see myself making separate BSAs both for SE and LE. Maintaining it will get tedious really fast.

Thanks for the insight.

The BSA would have mesh files packed in it which aren't compatible between LE and SE.

The sex dialogue during sex for Spank That Ass seems either broken or incomplete. All the voice lines for the participants other than the player come from a male voice (commoner or guard maybe)? Even trolls and women have that same voice, so for some reason there's a male voice telling you you're good at eating pussy (weird). The trolls thing might be unavoidable, since it's a quirk of SPA that some beasts can talk.

That's it, my xEdit script is shared and the guide is written. I will polish it in the future eliminating typos and probably adding more info.

As for now I'll be low active for the next 2-3 weeks as things got intense at work and require my personal attention (and a lot of it).

As for voice packs, if I have spare time, I'll do SexLab Survival from scratch because it was my first pack and it was made using bugged xEdit script, not to mention terrible lip sync and missing recently added voice models.

Have a nice weekend everyone.

Okay.. So I'm actually experiencing some problems with packing Babo dialogue in BSA. Some dialogue work and others never output, are stuck on blank, then attempting to exit dialogue instantly CTDs. Didn't have this issue with the loose files. Also not having any issue with other BSAs...

Babodialogue does have the most files / voice lines of all of the sound packs, so I'm thinking that might be an element of it. Still not sure why right now. If anyone has tried the Babodialouge BSA voice pack and had it work / not work let me know ;-;

I made my own BSA's and am having issues with BaboDialogue too, I'm not getting CTDs with it, but whenever someone uses a line from babo there is no sound and it wont let me select a response. Also not really sure what's causing it, all the other BSA's I made seem to be working fine too.

EDIT: Looked into it a little more, didn't realise the file was so big ~8gb!! Skyrim doesn't seem to like BSA files over (around) 2gb, split it into 4 separate 2gb BSAs and load them in with dummy ESLs (since you can only have 2 BSAs attached to one mod - 'modname.bsa' & 'modname - textures.bsa'), will hopefully work but haven't tested yet
