I'm trying to install this but have the black face bug no matter what I try.

 

My current setup uses FSM 5.0.1. It works like a charm and I never get the black face problem:

Looks Menu F4EE.ini set to 2048 x 2048

HiPoly face + 2K compatibility pack

Kallies Brows mod + HD pack

FSM 5.0.1 face and body textures.

 

I understand Kziidt skin has a 1K face so I make the following changes:

Looks Menu F4EE.ini set to 1024 x 1024

HiPoly face + 2K compatibility pack

Kallies Brows mod + HD pack

FSM 5.0.1 face and body textures -> Install Kziidt Fusion girls non realistic skin

 

I have not done any mix and match of *bhed_n/d/s due to lack of experience.

 

Can anyone provide some pointers?

Make sure the headrear/bhed texture files also match the face texture resolution. At one point they didn't with this skin replacer, but I don't know whether that was eventually fixed.

Thanks. When looking at texture resolution, how do I see this? Apart from the various mod pages saying which file is which, I'm not sure where I can check resolution size. If I check each of the file properties, I can only see the file size in kB. Where do I go to explicitly find out the #### X ####?

Open the file in a DSS-capable image editor like Paint.Net.

When I started using non realistic skin in the standard supply of 4K body and 1k head, all the problems with fps and crashes disappeared from me. Black face, very rarely, F5-F9 solves the problem.

 

It's almost the perfect body of all time, THE BEST! I'm sorry that the dismemberment doesn't work, but I use COOL outfits, if you don't take off your clothes, there is a dismemberment. Unfortunately, these are only vanilla clothes.

 

 

 

Perhaps this will not solve your problems, but the standard Kziit skin and the rejection of 2k solved a huge number of problems on my system. This is a real golden mean!

 

As I understand from my experience, a black face appears at the moments of loading levels, including the appearance of NPCs on the map. If the system is loaded at this moment and it did not have enough. This is from personal experience, I am not a moder. But this configuration, which I wrote about, gave me the opportunity to test mods, and not suffer with my body and face.

As far as I can see, the bhed and face file sizes between FG1.8 + FSM and FG1.8 + Kziidt are the same. Where FSM works fine, Kziidt will not.

What am I missing? 

 

EDIT: finally got it to work. I was about to give up but I'm glad I took the effort to figure it out. Definitely the best skin texture for FG I have seen,

The other thing to keep in mind is that the filename for the textures is baked into the plugins, so if one of the mods includes a plugin it might be pointing to different files for some head or headrear textures.

 

Another to compare against is X-Sensuous, which includes 2K head/headrear textures and doesn't brownface for me (I'm using FG like you appear to be). To be clear, you're using the latest FG version, yes (1.89/0223)? It moved the headrear definition out of ZBG and back into FG again.

Noted about the baked plugins. Thanks I didnt know that before. 

I managed to get X-Sensuous working when I went down the rabbit hole on the forums. Worked perfectly but now that I have Kziidt working, I dont think I'll go back  

And yes I have FG0223. I did notice the rear files in there.

 

It turns out the culprit was Kallies Eyebrows. The most bizzare thing is that I had it completely uninstalled in my previous Kziidt attempts and still got black face. So I re-installed FSM without eyebrows, got FSM working (but with ugly vanilla eyebrows). Then tried Kziidt again and it was perfect. Reinstalled Kallies eyebrows and it worked.

Ah, yep. Absolutely every tint used on a face must have the same resolution as the face texture files. No exceptions. That is by far the most common cause of persistent brown/rusty face on a character.

Looks nice and all but since the moment I installed this I have rusty faces all over the wasteland and its often me aswell... I have no idea how to remove that but from what I understand, my rusty face is due to mismatch of texture resolution of face and body... so IDK how to go around that since head is 1K and body 4K for some reason...

Not a resolution mismatch between the face and body textures, but rather a mismatch between the resolutions of the various face and head texture files, including textures used by face tints (makeup, face paint, blemishes, scars, bruises...). If you install an "HD" (2K) resolution face texture, you also need a 2K head-rear texture and 2K versions of all your tints.

This is the way I fixed for 2K with hipoly patch, 

 

1. Install Cridow's Darling Skin for Fusion Girl at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com)

2. Install kzittd  texture, Delete meshes folder

3. Goto texture delete everything except _d.dds files.

4. Open basefemalehead_d.dds in .net paint and resize by 200%.

Been messing around with this mod for an hour or so, can't fix the "black" face bug when trying to run 2k textures. Not sure if its on my end or what, but kinda sad. 

 

I feel like it's worked before on a previous playthrough a while ago. 

 

EDIT: I was able to get it to work by using the Fallout Resizer mod.

If you get the black face bug with this, and all your other mods face textures are 2K, get the basefemalehead_n.dds and basefemalehead_s.dds from page 2 of this thread from riot punch plus replace basefemalehead d with this: basefemalehead_d.rar. IDK why I cant just upload .dds. It's resized with FO4 resizer from 1k to 2k. (sorry if I understood the author page description wrong about uploading). You can do it yourself with FO4 Resizer but I found it super confusing to get a correct folder structure for it to work.

 

Took a while for me to get this to work with a 2K face mod setup but its worth it. Thank you kzii.

Can someone make a thorough, step by step guide on how to use it with 2k face mod? I'm using Real HD Faces, and it is not working. I have the same exact black (not rust colored) face as a different user pictured above shared. I replaced those two DDS files like they instructed, but it's still not working. I'm not using any other makeup/faces/tints/etc that are not 2k

 

Something I'm doing wrong?

 

EDIT: mod author said there's a 2k patch included? I only see version 1.30 and version 1.40 in the downloader....
