SO, Subverse looks fun, but...

SO I saw Subverse. IT looks like a hybrid between a top-down shoot'em up and visual novel/sci-fi parody. I might get it. However, does anyone know of any games like Fenoxo's Trials in Tainted Space that are actually like Outer Worlds/No Man's sky with as much kink fuel (body mod etc.) as TiTS and Corruption of Champions?

OR At least the level of kink fuel you find in SSL. (FillHerUp, MME, PSQ, DD, etc.) but in space with ships and combat?

Like a No Man's Sky for people like me.

I bet that is an obscenely tall order, but I don't always know where to look for this stuff.

1. StudioFOW is sketch as fuck; the game is likely to release but it's going to be a 2D shooter and a very limited tile tactics game with some honey select scenes in between. That's it.

2. There two companies developing on the scale you're talking about and both of them are fantasy games. The reason subverse is in the genre it is, is because it's basically unopposed. At the time it started the notion of mass effect + "dynamic" sex was considered dead as fuck and that hasn't changed much.

3. Starfield is ages away and ten bucks says bethesda will find a way to completely fuck modding on it, because bethesda is a political entertainment company now, not a game dev.

I'd agree on that bet.

Too bad I lack the skills and knowledge to make the idea. If I could, I'd also have a control switch (optional DLC or something for the adult content, or baseline framework built in) so I could still deliver a damn good story without the hard requirement of adult content (because I want everyone to be able to enjoy it.), but the option would still be available. I AM, however, writing a sci-fi/fantasy novel series that, one day, could be amazing as a game (that would clearly have mod support), but I'm barely 12 pages into a 7 book series. That series could take a few years to complete for the novelization alone.

The discord for this game is like customers in a fast food drive-thru.... expectations are so sub-consciously low... it's quite sad. Anyone who has been gaming for any length of time could see from a mile away that the game was going to be a very low effort 'joke', "lul we brek furth walz!, duuur-huur" "Dead Poolz Capin!?" "E.D.I from Mass Effect but not!" sort of hot mess.

It's from a TROLL studio, smells of pretzels, cheeto's, nacho's and shame.

I had it on my wishlist for a long time but as soon as it went EA and I saw the screenshots of an actual  gameplay I removed it and I'm not going to even look at it ever again.

I am puzzled however by the amount of positive reviews this pile of mediocrity got.

I hope Subverse make publishers and developers understand that there is market for adult-oriented games, even if they are only available on PC.

Subverse is a bargain basement version of honey select 1 without customization and despite using the U4 engine looks like GMod 1. The only lesson to learn here has already been put out and involves mobile games, 15 years ago, and contains no customer benefit.

...and when u live in germany, china or south korea u can´t even buy the game on steam, because valve removed it for your country for whatever bs reason. In my case at least (germany) the age varifcation method valve provides doesn´t fit what the government wants. So the fucked araound with valve and valve decided to remove such games (without USK raiting but considered adult themed/content) from the steam shop. Region blocked, like back in the early 2000.....

And the funny Dev Team don´t get their own platform for getting the game fixed for whatever reason. :D

Imagine being a baker for that game from germany, having your key but can´t download the game because:

And by the way, using VPN is risky due to steam banning your account when finding out. Changing reagion settings the same and gifting the game over a friend from another country doesn´t work anymore either.

Yeah stupid valve following the laws of the country hosting their games for that localization. Stupid stupid valve.

Only that the reason they removed it is because they feel they are incapably of following the law.

All the law demands is an age verification that can't be beat by anyone who can count to 18.

And their german customers have demanded it for far more than 10 years.

The technologie for that exists and is quite easily available but you have to want to implement it.

Which from rumors about an adult-only section on Steam is what Valve is very slowly doing.

@Mart0206 Can't you just redeem the code when you already have it due to beeing a backer?

Back when our dear BPjM thought every second game would turn you into a murder you could still redeem imported keys.

That would also mean that if StudioFOW sold keys on ways other than Steam the problem would be very little.

Technically Valve isn´t following laws, that´s actually right. They don´t wanna deal with implementing some kind of system which fits local requirements and therefor decided to make specific titels not available anymore for customers of certain countries. So yeah, they do not follow the laws, and don´t break them either. I don´t think they are stupid, they are just lazy. Perhaps it´s just not worth the work/time to put in such a system since it might just affect titels with very few sales on the market for the affected countries. There are still a lot of adult only titels which are not blocked which might have gone under the radar because very few people searched/buyed them.

Subverse in the meantime skyrocket the sales on steam. This shit was on every PC Game releated website here in germany, even in that fucking toilet paper magazin called "BILD".

That why it got the hammer more quickly, i guess.

It seems that USK rated titles (like Cyperpunk for example) arn´t affected by that, because of the warning/rating USK18.

Fun fact, if you wanna buy that game, you still got the "i have to count to 18" varification. :D

I am not a baker of that game so i don´t know how the company will handle those issues. I just got interested in the game and found out about that region block while trying to look after it on steam. As far as their Kickstarter Page said, they try to set up some kind of platform where people can buy the game, but this website is in maintenance state for nearly 2 month now.

Well, i think only time will tell. :)

Gmanlives actually managed to review the Early Access version in a way that did not get it and his channel deleted from Youtube.

It looks like their name dispute with Tim Pool might end up being the most noteworthy thing about this game when everything is said and done.

The sad thing is that people keep pushing and pushing and pushing FOW.
I see a lot of bitching in comments and even here.
Sad reality is that the game is simply not ready. It has MAXIMUM of 5 hours of content if you really want to take your time.
HOWEVER, wait at very least 3 more years and game will be amazing. Because it'll be actually complete.

The whole ''sketchy'' and ''troll'' part doesn't make sense and you guys are talking with no business part considered into this.
They can VERY easily make shitton of money from this, while being secure since they're no longer making animations with copyrighted characters. And making western erotic game on large scale, which is a gem among gems.

My recommendation? Wait and play the game in 3 years or so. It'll be pretty damn good. But as of now, it's relatively barren.

I'm very partial to a couple of characters in this so I bought it. I'm not disappointed with it. They recently added a neat photo studio too.

That aside, I wouldn't recommend the game to anyone until it's out of early access, if it ever is. It has good bones, but I'm not certain that there ever will be much meat. They expanded the dev team and its actively being worked on, today anyway. I don't "trust" them, personally.

Yeah I put $10 into the kickstarter a few years back and was lucky enough to live in a country where I could actually use the steam key. I enjoyed the 3 hours of content that's been released, but would agree that anyone who was thinking of buying, wait until it's out of EA.

It's pretty basic at the moment with just a few rooms on the ship, cutscenes/dialogue, 2D space shooter and some tile combat. But they do seem to be actively releasing.
Certainly compared to some of the money pits on Patreon/subscribestar I don't feel I've been ripped off.

Although to the OP - nothing I've seen. There are open world sandbox games like Breeders of Nephelym or Wildlife, but both are big-long term. FO4 and Skyrim with mods are still the best if you want to have a smutty RPG with open world graphics.

Games alright, it's lowbrow but honestly I don't care much for the story in a porn game and don't need high art in my video games in general. Got it for 10 bucks since I subbed a long time ago. Not sure it was worth it. Sex scenes were good and the space combat stuff was pretty fun but the tile combat should honestly just be removed if they aren't going to make it more in depth because it was boring to the extent it made me quit the game.

I don't really think you are going to find anything like it though unless you mod games. Thing is, most porn games aren't very ambitious because well... It's porn. It means it's a smaller market and they can get away with cutting corners.
