I have to say that I really like this mod even though I don't really use it for it's intended purpose and I actually removed the stuff that puts it in the leveled list. I actually use this mod to combine with other armors to create some really great looking combos. I'll have to post what my current character looks like later! I currently use some of the steel pieces to combine with the Crude Steel armor from the fashions of the banditry armor mod and it looks awesome!

Edit: Here's that picture I promised!

Likely you are looking at the 3BA(3BBB v2) version but instead have only CBBE SE installed.  When it fails to morph, it means the morph files references for the base are not found by Bodyslide.  Try the group CBBE SE TAWOBAE version. If you are using UUNP or BHUNP, then you do not have any of the requirements.

I'm currently trying to frankenstein a few different armor mods/replacers together with mixed success. This is by far the best skimped male armor mod, but I prefer the female armors elsewhere. Is there a feasible way one could butcher this mod open with the creationkit or xedit to keep ONLY the male bikini sets and male NPC distribution? Or does the fact that the bikinis are split into several different parts make that a mess? The original TAWOBA only affected female NPCs, so it should be possible to do that in reverse, right? any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated

In order to do ith the way you want, you will have to make a lot of changes.

Here is how it works on a iron boot example:

The iron boot has entries for the looks of female and male. Thoe entries direkt to the corresponding .nif files.

The original TAWOBA had only female outfits changed and no autoimatic distribution. The male entries were either the vanilla armours or the entries were empty. Empty entries were not a problem, as long as you do not try to equip it on a male character (male character will appear naked). This problem got very noticable, when people trired to aoutomaticaly distribute the outfits.

In order to make what you described, you will have to change the female entries to the "elsewere" armors you mentioned or make them empty. If you make them empty, you will get naked female outfits, when you equip them on female characters.

I hope this helps

cheers

Can you provide some links to the outfits you like more? It is allway good to have some more sources of inspiration.

Hmmm this seems to be merged with both female and male armors, I was hoping HIMBO armors bodyslides were separate. Do you plan on making HIMBO-only version? I already have a perfectly set up tawoba for women and don't want to replace it.

No, sorry, not the scope of this mod

wait, so what mods do I need for proper textures? I found the Cathedral armory but not the  aMidionborn Armor textures mod talked about in notes

The Nordic Carved outfit is optimized for textures from this mod:

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/34996

this mod offers you three coloration styles, when you install it.

Isn't this a skyrim LE mod?

those are textures only, you can check them with the cathedral converter tool, they work for me as they were.

P.S: You still can try different textures, that you like. As long, as you like the result in game is everything ok. Original texture will work too. aMidianBorn made in his textures more ornaments.

The Nordic Carved textures for SE/AE can be found here
aMidianBorn Book of Silence SE
Just scroll down to optional and grab aMidianBorn Book of Silence SE -- DRAGONBORN
if you just want the Nordic Carved Texture then do
custom
none on everything
chose which Nordic Carved (fur color)

or you can install everything, up to you

Soooo...... I encountered a weird bug. Whenever I load a save, the gauntlets and boots vanish as seen in the pic... they only show when I remove the main armor (example being the pants). Anyone know what could be causing this?

It looks like you are trying to mix some different mods. The wrist slots and the feet slots have in my mod often meshes. If you mix mods, it can happen, that those meshes with lower priority will not be shown. What happens, when you equip only the TAWOBAE items?

If you do not mix mods, can you please name the items you have equipped in this picture?

The only two mods I'm using for the armor are (obviously) your mod and Heavy Armored Pants - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - VectorPlexus (vectorplexis.com Standalone, as for the parts themselves this is what I have equipped

Also, when I equip only the armor for your mod everything works fine, no problems.

Ok update, I have tested with other armor types (Dragon Plate, Ebony, Nord Plate, Steel, & Iron) and they all work with the pants mod fine, I think Nordic Carved might be the only one that's getting affected.

That is what i thought. I looked into my files and the boots use the calf slot and the gloves are using both, the hand and wrist slots, I did not look into the files from the pants mod, but it looks like it is uses the wrist and calf slots too. That is why there is a conflict. The pants use the calf slot and wrist slot and so override the boots completely and make the mesh associated with the wrist invisible.

You can make changes to either of the two mods in order to make them compatible, if you know your way with CK and Bodyslide.

Or you could use for the gloves and for the boots the vanilla items. I think thy should be compatible.

I hope this helps.

Yeah, I don't know a thing about CK but I can give Bodyslide a try, see if that fixes it.

Unfortunately, you need to make changes in CK AND Bodyslide. The changes are quite simple, there are lots of tutorial on youtube. If it does not work, you still can use the vanilla boots and gloves.

Alright, I was able to fix the bug. I didn't use CK but found that using SSEEdit to switch up the slots did the trick.

Probably a longshot, but has anyone made SPID distribution for this? I'd like to give some random bandits these armors but I'd like to avoid leveled list edits if possible.

No need for that. If you use the mod, it is automatically distributed in skyrim.

Does this work for Immersive Wenches and jazz? I can't for the life of me find an up to date TAWOBA that works for them, specifically the Falmer Bikini armors for Forgotten Wenches. The version of TAWOBA I'm using atm works, but there is quite a bit of clipping as none of the pieces have the same physics as 3BA or CBPC. So I end up with a lotta jiggly bits within static pieces of armor.
