Hey guys, sorry if this has been asked before, looked through the thread and searched for an answer first but could not spot anything.

I installed this and checked it out, all is well and working except my first person view height. It is at a default child height, not the height of an adult.

I saw something about a first person height fix in the instructions as an optional file to install, but I do not have that. Though it seems that is to make the height smaller anyway. Could it have been installed as a default file and if so which one do I remove to set it right again and get back to looking grown-ups in the eye? ;)

No, I am working off a totally clean install. (New PC build) and have, so far, only installed a couple of armour sets and weapons, as well as the script extender and SkyUI.

I just tried a new game to see and my character is still at child height view, even with the YChildren of the Sky.esp turned off since I want to play as an adult.

Uninstalled it for now and it all set back to normal height again.

If you want the hight fix install it, but there is a little setback it will make the CoTS R2 Followers big.

If you dont use them but instead use the reworked follwers your ok and fix is great.

No big deal do you can easly adjust in racemenu.

I also use the custamizble camara this fix your problem also.

Ingame you have only prblem if not using fix that in first person your a giant :D

Whoops, I misread. Thought you had the not a child height issue. Racemenu has nothing to do with it. I forget sometimes that not everyone uses Mod Organizer. Reinstall your skeleton.

Now I have a problem of my own. My Hearthfires won't let me build a child's bedroom. The option doesn't appear in dialogue for decorating Breezehome (Whiterun), but it does show up in Proudspire (Solitude).

When I choose to buy it in Solitude, I pay my 3,000 gold, but the room has not been built when I get there. This happened once before, but I can't remember how I fixed it.

I tried with the CotS Hearthfires xvisionchildren.esp, and the normal xvisionchildren.esp. Neither work.

How come?

I messed with load orders, but no change.

Sorry have no idea about heartfire problem. But im not sure if its even remotely similar. I had followers i stationed in a player home i had under whiterun i totally forgot about them still there and with removal of that player home mod and installed a new player home my followers where gone...i thought after a few days of play and several saves i lost them with that save, but then i suddenly saw them back at there starting point where i first recruited them.

My point is maybe it takes a while before the kids room is there some how some strange kind bugs or mistery surrounds skyrim( LoL).

Maybe there is a kind of same as with mobs a respawn timer?

Its also posible you need somehow do some minor quest before he have the option to buy a kidsroom?

Thats why always keep older saves if it realy is messed up and can't be fixed if you wanne keep playing with that character.

Good luck sorry i can't help you more, i suggest google some prolly somewhere this problem has been discussed before?

The Hearthfire issue is usually caused by a custom house mod. If you're using anything that changes Breezehome (or any other vanilla house), it can cause the dialogue not to show up to purchase the children's room.

Usually unticking the house mod will give you back the dialogue. Then as long as the mod supports Hearthfire, you can just buy the room, then retick it to get your mod back with the children's room.

Had this issue before as well myself, and that is what was causing it. Not sure what could be causing it though if you don't use a house mod.

@SpyderArachnid:

I have no custom house mods, unless you count Bathing Beauties Luxury Suite, but I've always used that mod, and didn't have this issue. I use Painslut, but I've been using that as well, and although it alters Breezehome, I've always still been able to buy a kids room, even though it alters the exact spot where the kids room is placed. I have sexy Whiterun, but I always have...etc. Sexy Solitude too (sexy everything). That's the extent of home altering mods. I tried with and without Breezehome Children.

I've tried a lot of stuff. This is retarded. I can't find one reason this should be happening. I use the same mods as always, and it always let me buy the room(s) before.

In Solitude, the option to buy the room is not there right away. You must buy something else 1st, and then it appears at the bottom, as [Children's...]. Just like that. no price, just the 3 dots after "Chidren's". Everything else about Hearthfires is still there though. Pisses me off when I try to adopt one of the kids, only to hear "Do you have someplace I can live?", and be forced to say "No".

I believe mirror 8 on this thread is the one you want. Never run an installer.exe of any kind without scanning it first. I got the same virus before. I crushed it. Fortunately, my comp is strong enough to take it in stride. It's one of those "open a ton of useless blank pages" viruses that we all hate so much.

Also I agree that those should be removed.

It's called uncheck the box that says Download with Download Accelerator. The mod is just fine. It's the hosting site that tries to install their software to download with. Just uncheck the box, and download it normally.

Everything sounds fine, except for the part that says [Childrens...]. A mod you have is conflicting, not sure what though. Cause it shouldn't look like that at all. It should say something like "replace my Alchemy lab with a Children's Bedroom" or something along those lines. If all your getting is [Children...] then you have a mod conflict.

Something to do with dialogue or even purchases maybe? Completely unsure what could be causing it to do that. Used to use this mod all the time (now using HS Children which is much much better), and never had that kind of issue with it. Then again, I never used the playable race portion. I made my own custom NPC replacer with this instead without the playable race.

Honestly, I've seen [Children's...] before, and still bought the room successfully. This is quite annoying. The replace Alchemy etc with etc dialogue only appears if you bought an alchemy table. Otherwise, it should say [Children's bedroom].

I need a mod that let's ME get adopted. :D

When I begin school, I'm either overhauling CotS myself, or making an entirely new CotS type mod. You won't catch ME disappearing from LL. :sleepy:

Its still in my opinion best child mod out there.

Made with a mod almost 2 years old and not updated sinds summer 2012.

Its not that my characters realy look like kids but for me i can make most beautiful characters that are skinny and no big boobs and bottom :D

Posted

evasiadutch, what do you use to make your character look like that? I've personally had a hard time making the face look good tbh.

Also, are you using any skin mods to alter her looks? Not that I think my computer probably would know the difference though.

I personally want to create a character that looks like a teen, rather than a child, so your way would work perfect for me.

Seems like I was still using R1. I wonder if updating to R2 will make any difference. I'll try at least.

First, i have highend PC so its easy to show good looking characters screens also made in 2560 resolution.

I have as main body mod installed demonized UNP skinny.

CoTS R2 (CoTS reworked also) are based on UNP.

So i use true daughters of skyrim mod becouse its alot more realistic and deatailed body with scars, moles and sunburn(option also for more atlethic body).

Ive tried body imperfect same maker as true daughters but its in compatible with UNP skinny.

SKSE makeup mods and eyes of beauty hvergelmir highly detailed eyebrows, SGHair 268 and Apachiihair full version and female version.

I do all manually installed(i like that:)) carefully so no neckseams or strange colors.

Make sure you have installed all same types of mods compatible.

Got 150 eyes got 350 hairs got 40+ eyebrows and plenty of tattoo options.

I amke sure most are standalone also dont overlap some mods have same hair or eyes thats just clutter to much after while.

You can make if its your style and type make beautiful characters with CoTS R2 (RCoTS also but its bit more limited on choices eyes-mouth-brows-noses)

Armor mod NorthGirl makes the boobs child bigger can do nothing about that.

I really love the details in your pictures and have yet to be able to produce the same on mine, even if I'd set things on high. Even get some pixelation on the body skin. I wonder if that's due to my shadow settings.

The reason the face got some white shine on it is probably due to my Mage Light blending her.

I actually reworked the face yesterday after I figured I was using the "not so round version". Not sure if it made any difference though, but this one looks smother in her shape than the older version I had.

Personally trying to add more detailed textures sometimes feel pointless due to the fact that the game seems to just smooth everything out anyway. (not counting the pixelated body texture)

Just had to add an old version of her, to display the progress so far.

I've been considering using the UNPSkinny for her, but always wanted to keep the little girlies a lil smaller. Something in between the flat and UNPSkinny. Had a mesh for that in FNV that I "made" (just edited) myself.

One thing I've noticed is that there is really hard to find armor for UNPSkinny and thus armor to use for these girls. Why I like triss one. Had to edit the Normal Map file to not make the bobs drop out while still making it look like there is some there still.

I'll take a look into Daughters of Skyrim. Not sure if my computer feels like displaying the extra details though. I suppose I first need to find a solution to the pixelated body textures. (Not due to the textures themselves, checked that)

You seem to be suffering from quite a few different problems judging by your screens.

You still seem to have the "blue face" bug first off, your characters skins look VERY compressed and pixelated and you seem to be using NO AF at ALL... which begs the question .. why? AFx16 forced through your video card options will look better than game-options set at AFx16 and comes out at nearly ZERO performance loss.

if you're running on intergrated chip, set then in-game options through the launcher for AFx16. Your game will automatically look better. Also raise your resolution in place of AA. I run x2AA on laptop and no AA on my main rig (I use ENB so that handles AA for me). The better the resolution the less you notice jaggies.

EDIT: And we're judging looks from your lolified Serana ... make a char yourself and it'll look better : )
