fair warning to whoever wants to use "treasure hunting whore": do NOT install mods like deviously helpless, do NOT select the harsh option (disable the blindfold while you are at it)or be sure to toggle god mode when you do the fade to black from the vampire's lair because that mod just dropped me in front of a cavern with a witch on guard, completely immobilized, blindfolded and with boots that limited my movement A LOT (couldn't walk).

i IMMEDIATELY got subdued again (the screen wasn't even able to recover from the fad to black), carted back to Riften and sold to slavery AGAIN, this time the "public whore" outcome won and i was sent to Markarth, which broke the quest as the slavers can't remove the devices from THW and the quest is NOT failing.

I had to reload a save prior to the first auction because i was stuck with a loop of "the item is not here" and then my character got shocked over and over, preventing her from even doing the other quest.

not sure how feasible it would be but, could there be an update that auto-fails THW and removes the items if you get sold again for whatever reason?

You should've gotten a warning that the DDs cannot be removed, and had to either click yes or no to the "proceed anyway?" question. Choosing no should have left you near Riften, I think in the road near the backdoor that's still labelled Slave Market. If you chose to proceed, you can't blame this mod.

Adding to what CaptainJ03 said, when you're sent to the slave market, a Simple Slavery mod event is broadcast to all mods that care to be notified.  That would be the ideal time and mechanism for THW to stop itself, but since that mod is not maintained and doesn't do that, you can and should choose to be released when the slave handlers can't remove your restraints, then continue your quest for THW.

You should always choose to be released when you're wearing quest or blocking devices.  Simple Slavery explicitly warns with unmissable pop-up messages that continuing with enslavement "might break the enslavement mod that you are sent to" and then has you confirm a second time that you're sure it's okay to proceed anyway.

didn't get a warning, only "slavemasters can't remove this item" as a message in the top left.

also i'm not blaming this mod (sorry if it seemed like i did) i was just warning people that it's a possibility.

as i said to CaptainJ03, i didn't get that warning at all, only a message "slavemasters can't remove this device" in the top right.

might have been a fluke caused by too many mods?

in any case, i removed THW completely because, besides the possibility of a bug like that, i realized it was not made for me (it legit dropped me near Knifepoint Ridge and made me bunny-hop to MORTHAL while blindfolded and with arms and legs bound O_O )

i'd say the most you could do is to add a note besides THW in the description, but that's not mandatory :)

again, i wasn't blaming this mod and i apologize if it looked like i was, i just wanted to post a warning to people so they wouldn't break anything :D

Probably not.  The "Slave handlers could not remove device" can occur during device removal (for BlockGeneric or Quest devices), but that happens after the up-front check for those devices that does the pop-up warning.  For efficiency, that check only finds BlockGeneric keywords on worn (rendered) devices.  The original Treasure Hunter Whore places the keyword on both the inventory and rendered devices, which is a good practice, but maybe your version went to the trouble to strip off the keyword from the rendered devices for some bizarre reason.

Not unusual when trying an enslavement mod for the first time.  The regular (non-harsh) setting for that one is fun but challenging.

That's fine, but many people read these posts, so I take time to try to explain what's happening and why.

to be fair i'm using a "no dll version" of that mod because it doesn't support AE so maybe that was the issue.

still, i settled with public whore and radiant prostitution because they seem to be the more "lore friendly" of all the outcomes

i also got sex slaves but i'm not really sure what that mod will do since it only procced once and i was set free near another enslaved girl, so i'm guessing you don't become a sex slave but start the quest with that mod?
