Try reinstalling it. That is the cause of your issue 99.99% of the time

Okay, a Fuz Ro D-oh mismatch is the usual reason, but it could be something else.  Can you describe in more detail what happens when you talk to the Slavemaster?  Are you moved to the platform?  If so, does waiting 2 minutes make a difference?

 

Is the feature to remove your inventory enabled?

 

When things seem to stop, open the console window.  Do you see any messages from Simple Slavery, like "SSLV Auction Exit"?

So I have this mod working with the chained beasts mod. My character arrives in Riften, the chained beast gets unequipped. then after a handful of seconds, I am teleported into the Riften Slave Market cell with my characters' hands behind their back (I use ZaZ Animation Pack+ CBBE HDT V.8.0 2023). I then talk to the slave master, saying something along the lines of 'This can't be happening'. The slavemaster says some stuff, before saying 'Looks like it's your turn to the block.' and 'try to smile' or something like that. The dialogue closes, and the slavemaster turns around away from the player. The quest 'Simple Slavery' starts (Which is completely empty in the quest log), and that is it. No teleport or anything.

 

I am still doing some testing, I will  check the console in just a moment here.

What does GetStage SimpleSlavery in the console tell you?  Also, which version of Simple Slavery are you using?

So I reinstalled Fuz Ro Doh, and it did not fix the issue, and I also noticed that the function to remove inventory was disabled, so I enabled it, then clicked the 'enslave me now', though I did it from within the cell, hopefully that does not matter. Neither of these seemed to have fixed it though. It is at Stage 0 before talking to the slavemaster, and it goes to stage 10 after speaking to him. The console shows no movement at all, nothing happens.

 

Do I need the original Simple Slavery mod? I just installed plus plus, but did not install the original. I am using Simple Slavery Plus Plus 6.3.29

the original is not necessary and would cause issues. did i already ask if this is on a brand new game, not a save (including "new" games that are untouched saves at the very beginning, which aren't really new games)?

No, all you need is SS++.  This would be a good time to mention that if you ever had a pretty old version, you might have stray loose scripts.  It would be worth searching your Data folder and mod manager's overwrite folder for any scripts that start with SSLV_.  On SE, all scripts are packaged into the BSA file, so any that you find would highly suspect.

Stage 10 merely optionally displays a flavor message (e.g., "You hang your head in resignation and let yourself be led to the platform.") if that feature is enabled.  It then moves right on to stage 20.  You can try turning off the pop-up messages, but it shouldn't make a difference.

 

If you're getting frustrated, you should be able to move to the next step with SetStage SimpleSlavery 20.  The thing is, you shouldn't have to do that.  Something seems wrong with your installation (or conceivably, something is interfering with displaying the pop-up message), so it would be better to fix it than work around it.

This mod was already on my save. I may have updated it at some point, but I do not remember. It does not matter though because I started a new game the moment I saw your post here, and tested it. Same issue unfortunately. Part of me is relieved that it is not related to my save while part of me is sad that it means I still don't know what the issue is.

 

I wonder if it is related to another mod using devious devices. I do know that a few times when talking to the slave master, he wanted to take items from me, and I had the issue to 'submit' or 'resist'. I know this is not related to this mod at all.

 

While this dialogue does not prevent the simple slavery dialogue, it does make me wonder if another mod is interfering in some way.

Unfortunately setting stage 20 does not help. Like I said originally, setting stages does nothing. Sorry, I know this is a pain

I am going to say you guys have probably done all you can to help. Everything seems to be set up right, I even reinstalled the mod just in case it was a faulty install. So the only possible culprit is some other mod causing the issue, which means the only one who can really figure this out is me.

I'd like to help, but yeah, we're running out of possibilities.

 

Do check carefully for any loose SSLV_ script files.  At times in the past there have been patches for those files published by other mods that caused trouble.  If you don't find loose SS++ scripts, try loading this mod last.

 

For what it's worth, that SetStage command for stage 20 should simply work.  The first thing it does is a fade to black, so you should see something happen.  I don't see how another mod could interfere with that.  Talking to the Slavemaster, maybe, but the SetStage should work.  If you're using a voice pack for SS++ that includes an esp file, you can try this without it.

if you are feeling brave and have time, try a new profile in your mod manager and start with the minimal mods plus SS and gradually add the others back on
