If you're having issues with this version, you could try switching to its successor in Devious Followers Redux. This one is no longer being actively updated.

Hi there, I'll ask this in case someone in the community is willing and able to offer advice.  It seems there is no way to clear the debts and Lydia has reminded my PC numerous times, now it came to a head once I finished being the Windhelm PW after responding to the invitation (spoiler alert) and she said my debt was out of control and I could never pay it back.  Next thing I know the PC is being auctioned off, I assume she is cutting her losses and selling the PC.  She is bought by Riften to be their PW, but now Lydia is following the PC around going on about her debt and wanting to punish her etc.  I would have thought the auction would have ended the relationship in a sale.  Should I use the debug to get rid of the follower, or are they dangerous to play with, or should I follow the suggestion Aldid made a while ago to someone else, and use the Redux version?

The debug feature to get rid of a follower shouldn't add any additional problems, so I would recommend using it. As for not being able to pay debt, there should be a dialogue option called "About my debt"/"About my debt and deals" --> "I'd like to pay you." If there isn't, then I'm not sure what might be the cause. Perhaps you're stuck in a scene? There's another debug option for fixing that if so. Are you using mods that affect follower dialogue? Even if so, this dialogue should still appear, but I don't know for certain.

Thank you mate, appreciate the follow up, I think I'm more confused why she's still hanging around after selling the PC at auction, seems like it would be the end of the partnership to me.

In the past I sometimes had to hit reset a couple of times. Is Lydia still showing as your DF? Or is she just following you around?

Do you have any follower framework mods installed? I recently installed one for the first time, Simple Follower Extension, and when I reset DF my debt, deals, etc. were cleared. I no longer had a DF. However that follower was still with me - which was fine. I just quickly disabled him as a future DF.

In the future, you might want to consider pausing DF when you're a PW or in a really long battle/cave scenario. I've racked up 100's of thousands in debt because I forgot to do that. OOPS! A little debt because your follower is tired is one thing, but no need to get ridiculous!

My follower used to order me to have sex when i tried to talk to someone. And the PC respond was something like "oh no, what's happening"

 

This never happens anymore. I'm guessing it's tied to "tell people you're a slut" deal, but what excatly causes this to happen? Which deals/willpower/debt?

I am getting a failed masters error in Vortex. DF SLACS Patch.esp depends on slacs.esp and DF Cutting Room floor patch.esp depends on cutting room floor.esp what are these files? Pretty Sure I have everything

Those two are patches for if you use the mods Sexlab Advanced Cum Stages and Cutting Room Floor respectively. If you do not use those mods, then you do not need those patches and can safely disable them.

I am new to modding my Skyrim. I know this will be a dumb question, but can someone explain to me how to add this mod to my game correctly without breaking everything?

I currently use DD and Cursed loot (the latest updates for both with the required SKSE, etc mods). Should I download it directly or should I add old versions first?

When I try to install it and load a character my character doesn't want to move, only jump. What is the reason for that?

Unless the mod description and/or installation instructions say otherwise, you will not need to install older versions of any mod.

1. Did you run FNIS (or Nemesis, if you use that)?
2. Did your game work before you installed this mod?
3. Double check your mods and their requirements against your game and skse versions. Also check to see if any other mods you use are incompatible with this one.

This is almost always because the mod you installed adds animations and you didn't run FNIS before loading your save. It is not an installation problem.

I had that issue Again where i couldnt open the Debug menu in the MCM. Also most of the Dialogue of the Follower was simply stuck and didnt progress. Then i remembered i had similiar issues with Xaz Prison Overhaul, turns out it was Papyrus Tweaks again. Speeding up the whole script processing caused (for what ever specific reason) that for me.. turning it off before loading the mod fixed it, just in case anyone has the problem too

My follower just keeps becoming a normal follower after 4-6 hours of gameplay.  I've not been able to figure out why.  I just notice after the fact.

How to disable the weird potion quest ?

So i  tried out the weird potion quest without knowing the consequences.

But now, after it took effect the first time, and i got to know that i have stat penalties the whole game unless going back again and again to my old DF (which isnt my follower anymore), id like to ask you if the quest is really permanent, and if so,

how to disable it (Console command set.stage doesnt work as disabling the quest in the mcm menu).

You're stuck. It's been a long time since I tried it, but iirc console commands like stopquest, or resetquest won't work either. You can either live with it or go back to a save before weird potion, disabling it in the MCM, and replaying however many hours it's been.

I got some problems with the whore armor.

 

Version i Use: 1419098688_DeviousFollowers-ContinuedSEv2_14.5.7z

 

Ive read to replace the mesh files. but the armor folder contains shitty and DFCustWhoreArmor. i tried to replace every file one by one (copying the files i want renaming and replacing so that the folder content look the same but the files are replaced) and starting the game everytime to see if the armor changed.

 

I also tried having "DF CBBE Whore Armor Meshes + Bodyslide SE.7z" override DF and replacing the meshes in it when it overrides.

 

Then i Tried installin TAWOBA and letting that override everything else.

 

It was always either unp (looking bad) or it the armor is inside the boobs.

 

I also saw the "How to Install Custom Whore Armor" section. But it only contains "  Reveal hidden contents".

 

in BodySlide, in the group manager i can see the DFTAWB group, whihc contains CBAdvanced, DFTAWB Unidied UNP and WWB - CBBE.

WWB - CBBE which contain the "WWB Blades Kunoichi Shouzoku", "WWB Ebony Bikini Top 2 HDT" and "WWB Ebondy Bikini Top 3 HDT" looks good in the preview window.

everything else from these groups looks bad.

 

If i wanted to put this armor as my light whore armor for example. in my mind i would want to:

prereqs: disable "TAWOBA" and "DF CBBE Whore Armor Meshes + Bodyslide SE" so nothing accidentally overwrites

1. run bodyslide for that armor.

2. in meshes/armor/DFCustWhoreArmor/light replace "light_F_0.nif" and "light_F_1.nif" with the "Light Tank Armor CBBE_0.nif" and "Light Tank Armor CBBE_1.nif".

3. in meshes/armor/DFCustWhoreArmor/light rename "Light Tank Armor CBBE_0.nif" and "Light Tank Armor CBBE_1.nif" to "light_F_0.nif" and "light_F_1.nif"

4. run game

5. to test: do deals untill whore armor deal happens.

 

 

for me, the armor never changed.

To make sure I get the names correct (no typos) I usually copy the desired armor to a separate folder, then copy the names from DFCustWhoreArmor/light and rename the custom armor before moving them to the folder and replacing the existing files. 3. in meshes/armor/DFCustWhoreArmor/light rename "Light Tank Armor CBBE_0.nif" and "Light Tank Armor CBBE_1.nif" to "light_F_0.nif" and "light_F_1.nif"

 

Repeat with same or different custom armor for heavy and mage armors. You can't just replace one set of armor. You have to replace all 3 whore armors or you can't use custom armor. It doesn't matter if you use the same look for all 3 or want different looks for different sets.

 

4. run game If you use Vortex, remember to 'Deploy Mods'. It's a good precaution to make sure your changes are caught.

 

Go through the MCM, find and click the toggle to use custom whore armor.

 

5. to test: do deals untill whore armor deal happens. It might be faster to save your game and disable as many deals as you can so that the whore deal is the only one available. When you get the whore armor and put it on (iirc the pictures will look the same in your inventory) and it works, you can simply reload your save and play on.

This mod seems to prevent me from dismissing followers (who aren't devious). I get the dialogue and they say their parting lines but then don't actually stop following. Right now the only way for me to dismiss followers is by using Nether Follower Framework's flush follower slot feature. Anybody else had this problem or know how to fix it?
