Shiori栞 Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 Detailed version: Spoiler Is there a pre-cache killer like there is for Skyrim? My game has gotten to the point where I can't even walk like 20 feet without the game crashing. There was a time when I was trying to leave the Dugout Inn, and when I opened the door to Diamond City, the game not only crashed, but it took my whole PC with it. Got a screen saying my PC experienced a problem and needed to be restarted, and was apparently gathering some kind of info to send to Micro$oft. It never restarted itself though, I had to shut the power off myself. It was basically the equivalent of a Bluescreen, and happened relentlessly. I had to coc to the Combat Zone so I could go get Cait cuz there didn't seem to be any other way to leave Diamond City. I was with a NPC follower (AFT) and when I shot someone, and she was spotted, the game crashed. Happened every time they detected her. Had to use 'killall' to get past the fight. Now I am trying to travel through the Glowing Sea but it keeps crashing. Oddly though, if I use 'tcl' to float, the game doesn't seem to crash. In fact I've never crashed when I was using tcl. Not even in Far Harbor - aka. That bugged shitshow of a DLC. This whole mess started in Far Harbor when I tried to travel to Acadia with Longfellow. As soon as we get into the Fog, he has dialogue. As soon as he got to a very specific word in his sentence, game crashed every time. Going to Acadia without him worked fine. Still, after that, I experienced plenty of crashes, and they are getting very frequent. This game's much more bugged than Skyrim. So is there a pre-cache killer? I wasn't using the Unofficial Patch when I went to Far Harbor but I am now, and still it doesn't seem to be enough. I'm using a library of mods like AFT, Smokable cigars-cigs-joints, AAF, AAF SEU, AAF Violate, Purgatory, Bad End, Dating Magnolia, Atomic Lust, Atomic Fusion body and outfits, LooksMenu and Compendium, Real Handcuffs, Insane Ivy, and a ton of hairs and other random mods. TL/DR version: Spoiler Is there a Pre-cache Killer like Skyrim has? The game crashes a lot. I use most of the pervy mods others use and all are up to date.

Just days ago, I got rid of Leito, Farrell & Vader on the advice of someone speaking Russian. Since then, I haven't had any problems. Give it a try & see what happens!

Sometimes the new save will load, sometimes it will hard crash a load, and sometimes it will crash my actual computer. The first time I used it I saw it remove like 64 orphaned scripts, so I have little doubt it is more good than bad, but overall it didn't stop my crashes. I will still use it from time to time though cuz I noticed the game will eventually pile up a few wandering scripts. 11 hours ago, VonHelton said: Just days ago, I got rid of Leito, Farrell & Vader on the advice of someone speaking Russian. Since then, I haven't had any problems. Give it a try & see what happens! Don't a few mods literally require Leito anims? Like for hugging and kissing? Also, I'm not sure if I'd be left with enough anims to still have proper responses to assaults and hooking if I removed 3 whole packs, but I am pretty sure I have every single anim pack. Would be nice to remove some BJ anims though. It's real lame to see my girl give some female Raider a BJ to her strapon, and to my knowledge their's no global futa mod, just one that shoots "suddenly she's futa now" ammo at NPCs, and since every NPC uses a male voice in those animations anyway, might as well just make em futa as far as I'm concerned. I don't get the crashes when animations are happening though, like at all. Only when enemies detect me or a follower, and sometimes just in the middle of combat in general. Most recent was the abhorrent RadScorpions in the Glowing Sea. Pretty much a guaranteed crash, even if it waits until after I kill one. Also for some reason getting anywhere near Nat in Diamond City has about a 75% chance of crashing. I don't know what to make of that... Entering rooms like Public Occurances or Dugout Inn never crash my game, but leaving those small areas seems to violently attack my game's integrity, and even my actual computer. If those animation mods you mentioned can crash the game even when they aren't even being actively used, then I will surely remove them. I am getting to a point where I just wanna see the dam game. I honestly never beat Fallout 4. ? Never even met Curie yet. ? EDIT: Okay, so after reading like crazy around LL regarding my mods, it seems that those Farrell, Leito and Vader animations may not necessarily be the problem. It may be The One Patch To Bang Them All compatibility patch that holds the problems. Apparently mods are expecting a 2.0 update for it, and those exact mods have XMLs in that patch's AAF folder. I noticed this when looking at AAF Hardship's note about using that patch. It says to delete all Leito XML files from The One patch. Since you mentioned uninstalling/deactivating Leito's anims as a fix, I suspect this may be why that helped you. I also have a feeling the other mods you mentioned should have their XMLs within that patch removed too. As of now, I have archived them in a .rar and deleted the XMLs (aka - backup plan) and I'm gonna see what happens. Hopefully my studying on this will pay off, because I kinda figured all those packs would not need to be uninstalled, especially not Leito's as it is listed as a requirement for M.C.G.
Shiori栞 Posted January 31, 2020 Author Posted January 31, 2020 Nope. Removing those XMLs from The One patch didn't help, cleaning my save didn't help, and uninstalling the anims didn't help. If there's one thing I don't wanna do, it's restart the game. Not after grueling through that Far Harbor stuff (especially that accursed memories puzzle). Would take like a month to get back to where I am, as much as I work.

Don't misunderstand me, I like those mods ALOT. But they are older mods that were created when AAF was still in it's infancy. I would LOVE for Leito to make an updated version of his mod, but he stated publicly that he would not.
Shiori栞 Posted February 3, 2020 Author Posted February 3, 2020 Wow... so I uninstalled Magna Cum Gaudio, Sex Em Up, Violate, and Just Business (MO2 can't detect its .esp anyway, ever since it's creation) and I started a new game. I STILL crash before I can even get to the vault. At this point, I am beginning to suspect the game is itself is simply too buggy to play. I'd be surprised if it worked vanilla. The only pervy mods I have left in my manager are Hardship and Family Planning. It's amazing that I managed to get as far as I did in this disaster of a game. Anyone successfully use Hardship and Family Planning without crashes? Do I need to play without LL mods completely? EDIT: Looks like I was right. I am trying a new game, totally vanilla, after verifying integrity (all claimed to be fine), and nothing installed manually (except F4SE but it's not being used at all with 0 mods), and I can't even make it to the vault. Hard crash, as if I had literally all mods installed and had conflicts and stuff out of order. Fallout 4... doesn't work. In general. Amazing... I knew Bethesda was terrible at making games right, but when a vanilla Fallout on a clean save won't even let me get to the first new area, right down the road.... I mean, even my Skyrim with 300 mods works nearly perfect. Time to uninstall this trash. I won't keep trying to get a game to work with mods if it doesn't even work without them.

Um no...........Skyrim & Fallout 4 are games that I can play over & over with no buggs to speak of. Delete the Fallout 4 folder in <Username>/AppData/local. (This will be a hidden folder, you will have to alter your settings in Windows to see it.) Delete the folder Documents/My Games/Fallout 4 NOW uninstall the game......... Reboot your computer to clear out memory. Now do a fresh install of the game. Adjust the INI files to allow mods. LAUNCH THE STOCK GAME TO CREATE YOUR INI FILES & SET YOUR SETTINGS. Close the game normally. Restart the game. DO NOT install ANY mods until you leave the vault & talk to Codsworth. After talking with Codsworth, find a good place to save your game. Install F4SE Install AAF Install Bodyslide Install Looksmenu Install Fusion Girl Install BodyTalk Install ZEX Skeleton Install Vioxis Strap-Ons Install AAF Themes (Optional, I think?) Install Savage Cabbage Install SEU Install Family Planning. Install Atomic Lust. Install Mutated Lust. Install BP70 (For Masturbation Animation!) ------------------------------------- Your game should now run with no problems.

I lowered my graphics to 1080p and High g-settings, crash near the vault again. Just about cried. Lowered it to below Xbox 360 lvl: still 1080p but on Medium with Antistrop at x2 and low draw, low FOV, and haven't had a single crash since, on my old save, with every mod. I just ran through the Institute Courser mission and saved some synth and went back to Sanctuary, no probs. Can walk anywhere, use any anim, fight a horde, fly through the sky in tcl mode, anything. Sooooo my obvious question is: WHY does it now run fine? I mean, low graphics = easier on my comp, but this was certainly not necessary with Skyrim. That has 4K texture mods all over it. Then, same engine, I got Fallout 4, demanding sub-Xbox 360 graphics. I play MK11, DOA6, DB FighterZ, DA Inquisition, ME Andromeda, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, The Golf Club 2019, and, well... basically every game I own, at 4K, all max graphics, no prob. Either this game has a severe optimization issue, one that Skyrim does not have, or one of its files is messing it up. I am running this game on an 8-th gen i7, RTX 2060, 24G RAM, and my Xbox 360 can likely run it just as well if not prettier. That most definitely does not seem right... 4K should be easy as cake. With graphics set as low as it currently is, the game should be running at freaking 120 fps. ? (figuratively) Oh well. The game runs, and I can at least see wtf happens in FO4 now (with high chance of pregnancy) so I'll just deal with the 360 graphics.

Thx, I just enabled Storage Sense. Turns out that was off. Considering this is a Bethesda game we're talking about, having cached memory cleared regularly is no doubt a very good idea. If there's one thing Bethesda games are bad with on this engine, it's memory.
HentaiGnome Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 I apologize in advance for what I’m about to say isn’t gonna be terribly helpful, but just know this that I personally have no crashing issues with fallout 4 or Skyrim (special edition), so as cool as it is these days to blame Bethesda for everything I can guarantee you that your issue is not due to them or the game itself. The biggest red flag you should be concerned of is how often you’ve mentioned that the crashing is taking down your whole pc with it. That should never happen; at the most, it should just ctd (crash to desktop). If it takes your whole pc down with it then it sounds like you either have a windows problem (bad or outdated drivers) or a hardware problem (faulty memory stick or GPU, for example), or maybe even overheating issues. Edit: Dunno if it helps any, but I use Vortex as my mod manager and I don’t use any random third party peripherals other than my turtle beach headset and Microsoft Xbox One controller. I’m saying this because sometimes random peripherals with questionable drivers don’t play well with certain games or windows in general.
