Coen92
We all know Load Order is very important in Skyrim to prevent occasional CTD or even when loading old save. There is no one good way to get it done right, but we all have our experience which I want you to share with other people who struggle with issues because of load order. I managed to make my load order very good last time I played Skyrim and I used to do it thanks to guide in this thread (which might be helpful to you too): https://bethesda.net/community/topic/5795/how-to-load-order/2?language=en But later I switched from Mod Organizer to Mod Organizer 2 and lost my load order permanently. Now, after installing some of my mods I struggle again with CTD while loading my save (which was working few days ago) and I need your help and guidance. I am very much concerned that it is because of mistakes in my Load Order, so if anyone of you could check it and give me word of advice what should I change in it to make my saved game be loadable again, I would be more than grateful! Grey Cloud
Load order has little or nothing to do with CTDs. Let LOOT sort your load order is is very rarely wrong. It always helps if one knows what one is doing. Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp Unofficial Hearthfire Patch.esp Unofficial Dragonborn Patch.esp Why have you got these installed when you have the Legendary Edition of Skyrim and you have the USLEEP Patch installed? The guy who wrote that post you linked is a muppet. He has patches at #1 in his list. who in their right mind loads a patch before the mod it is patching? https://wiki.step-project.com/STEP:2.10.0 Link to comment
Just Don't
The only way a plugin file (esp/esm files, which are the only stuff that goes into a loadorder) could cause a crash is if you're missing a required mod. And this would happen everytime, you wouldn't be able to even start playing, so its likely not the cause of your crash in an existing save game. There are other issues from having a bad loadorder, mostly mod conflicts, but not CTD on load. The most common cause of CTD when loading an existing game file is a high amount of animations (from sexlab, DD, SL anim loader packs). You can check the amount of animations you have when you run FNIS, and latest versions of FNIS will tell you how close to CTD you're with your current mod setup. If you're playing on Skyrim LE, there are a few mods that you can use to enhance the game stability. Crash Fixes, ENB(enboost if you don't want the post process effects), Load Game CTD Fix, and the most recent Animation Loading Fix. Link to comment
