Beware of New EA patch

Updated my game this morning along with mods.

All was working fine afterwards.

Just loaded up Origin and had another Update, figured it was maybe just a bug fix patch so I went with it.

Game still running OK but noticed my main sims inventory was cleaned out except for a few things.

Pretty sure if it happened after patch #2 later today.

Mostly fruits and veggies from gardening and a few other things.

Household Inventory was still intact.

Basemental Drugs items also intact.

So stash your inventory maybe in a chest or Household Inv. before patching again.

Maybe it's just me but better safe than sorry.

v1.58.69.1010

It’s normal university bikes got a lot of problems, same for sims that appointment for university, households dissapear and get blocked.  If were at uni. Some people in sulani beach expansion are swimming over floors. I am glad to listen they finally going fix that.  Also servos needed a fix.

The info by EA to "mod users" is just

We have addressed some crashes that were impacting mod users.

?

They apparently fixed the overslotted objects issue. So it's probably that. Everything's working fine for with this patch, it didn't even temporarily disable mdos and CC.

I've deliberately held off hoping they'd fix the slot 195 issue because I'd lose a ton of furniture but it looks safe now....?

Hi, these last two updates have cased me no end of problems, I have had to remove some of my mods and all of my animations and I am still exprencing some problems, i.e. a full blue background when first going into a lot! so just be carefull.

so whats best option going forward ? i cant play the game currently. is it because of the new patch/sim uni combined with old mods ?

i wait a few more days, maybe a patch comes up, the last option would be to reshape my mod folder... this time with lots of subfolders.

sims without mods has no value for me, i guess if it keeps crashing i have to uninstall everything and switch to skyrim which i have planed anyway.

That's a great big ol' YES. If mods have updated after the 1.58 patch, but you haven't, you're gonna have a bad time.

Are you on the 1.56 or 1.58 version of the game? If you update your mods and fix/set aside the suspect CC (the slot195 issue breaks stuff), you should be good to update the game if you haven't. You'll just have to spend a few tedious hours doing a little maintenance on your mod folder.

If you can't play at all the only option is to try and hunt down the updates for those mods.

The most popular mods are updated pretty fast and those that aren't you just have to remove them for now and retest your game.

You can add them back in one by one, or a few at a time, after you get the game to load and working first.

Pretty much just a process of elimination and experimentation.

Nisa's WP and Kinky are a couple of mods that have a hard time keeping up with the WW updates because the WW versions change so fast.

So the trick with keeping those two working is to stop updating WW every other day, lol.

As I said in the Modpocalypse thread, learn to 'read the air.' Wait a few hours and gauge the level of screaming after a WW update to see if it broke one of the other dependent mods. The quieter it is, the more confidence you can have in your updating.

To me the Wild West Juice Bar (by adorable Severinka) works again normal now. WW said also "Ola" *gg

The inventory of some of the last used houeholds also was in regular order

but I had no harvests at those sims inventories (motel crew, Diva and Johnny)

Bea is just sad, her daughter was caught smoking a cigarette.... she smokes herself like an old locomotive *lol

My practise is use the newest EA patch to have your >195 slots back and do not search for this with S4S any longer.

You do not have to delete this CC anymore.

If you are clever, save your actual game before a patch with another name / version number, use a second version with a new name of this save for a new EA patch (I just put a B behind the name) and a third one to check out the next patch.

Still using WW version 147b I see...

Good, at least the hotfix removed the cc slot195 problems.

Had such a huge impact on so many ppl.

My inventory issue may have been related to other Mods but it's hard to verify now because I can't repeat what happened.

My sim harvested 10 Growfruits later on and fertilized 3 plants, so some were leftover in the inv.

After going into Manage Worlds, editing some lots, managing households, etc., I later noticed those extra Growfruits my sim had were gone again.

Found out I had LittleMsSams Personal Objects with an addon module called 'claimedininventory' so I've removed it now as I don't need it anyway.

Also removed 2 gardening mods although doubtful they had any problems.

So I've harvested 10 of the same thing again and now re-testing with those mods removed.

Yes, this too, but unfortunately people don't want to take the time to do so.

It's download and go.

The other thing I'd add is: always keep several of the previous versions of the big mods saved somewhere.

You might need to revert back one or two versions to get things working again.

I would try an elder save

Good idea, can't hurt.

Update: Inventory was all back after loading my old save so it pretty much proves one of those mods caused it.

But since that save I've had to fix two broken lots, edit several sims, and too many other things to bother with going back now, lol.

All my garden produce I can just harvest again anyway so it's just not worth the bother.

To remove scriptmods is a normal option - but to delete CC is nonsens (just save that folder/s otherwise - desktop till the issues are fixed and never forget to get S4S to update elder CC) . EAs last update works again normal with (more than) >195 slots.  WW is the most stabil mod and Turbo is really fast updating WW - if you ask me.

BMD updated 26.11.2019 also (just the date of the dl site is still wrong).

Well, no luck, so I guess it wasn't any of those mods after all.

Gave each sim in family a death flower, so 8 total.

After several sim days I noticed they were all missing from every sim.

They vanish when sims travel to work, school, or other lots.

Back to the drawing board.

Not a mod causing the missing inventory.

Removed ALL mods.

Repaired Game via Origin.

Tried loading several different older saves even.

Sim travels once to another world still OK, but travel again and the harvested items vanish.

Not in Household Inv. either.

Read EA patch notes and there was something mentioned about fixing sims inventory.

Well, we all know how that goes.

Just have to wait for another hot patch I guess.

okay... after the game was stable i tried to add the scripted mods, the game crashed with each mod and i could not play the game even when i removed all of them. thx to my safed mod folder pre uni/magic update the game is stable again... i get last exception errors but i cant see any effect in the game.

basically i had to do the reverse of what anybody says on here... which is just to let the old mods run, dont fix whats not broken.

This appears to be a game bug that modders can't seem to fix.
