Do you set attractivness preferences for your Sim? And are those actually saved when you download a Sim? I was setting up your AEP male talent for my game and I figured I'd make the middle one (Timo I think) swing both ways so I'd have a guy to be my community favourite for my gay Sims, but then I noticed he already "Liked" both sexes. Coincidence or did we just have the same thought and that information is saved and comes with the Sim?

 

And as a sidenote, I played around with Desmond last night (there are pics over in the sticked thread in general) and had a lot of fun. I switched his need for other famous sims for "Serious actor", which is hilarious because I am supplementing his income a lot with the Vivux camera that comes with AEP, and he will be all inspired because he is doing "serious acting" as he has his dick sucked. Since you don't provide as much backstory for the male sims I basically made up my own, with him being a pretentious dick with a huge dick who has spent his entire life in porn, seeing the girls come and go, and not be bothered, because his is an legitimate ARTFORM, damnit, and he is an serious artist, while the women are just props. I really would like a "Misogony" trait for him, but had to settle for the "Dominant" reward trait and ColonelNutty's "Consent to rough sex" mechanic to portray what I have in mind for him. Vanilla traits like mean and evil doesn't really cut it either.

I set him up with a penthouse with all the photographic and film-equipment in the game, where he produces his own stuff as a sidething from his work in AEP.

I haven't been setting attractiveness no. I was under the assumption that it is not saved when you take a sim from the world and save them to your library. But maybe it is saved, I think the last couple of times I loaded in Timo I did notice that he was attracted to both male and female sims, so maybe it's been saving whatever preferences he was randomly generated with. Or it's just a coincidence in both our cases.

All Sims are bi by default.

I can confirm that sexuality is saved when households are saved.

Tony kept on trying to bang Jason the one time I played them and after getting annoyed one too many times I messed around with the settings. I saved him that way to use in another iteration and the settings remained.

All the guys in my game seem to be gay by default... I had 9% of the sims in the world attracted to women, with a 49% total population of men. Then again I have been playing on the same save since Discover university, some 400 hours+, and god knows how many updates to WW, so it's not to strange that things get a bit weird.

 

Cool to know that attractivness preferences get saved over though. Another layer of depth for mrrakkon to add to his sims I guess... (*hint*, we want the "canon" preferences for your sims now as well  )

I discussed copying an outfit onto a sim's work outfit (to replace it) in the description posts for my WW strippers (Alisha, Candace, Jana, Veronica, Victoria) so you could look up those to find that, though if you are unsure how to copy and paste outfits with MCCC you'd probably be better off looking up a tutorial, I'm sure there's something on Deaderpool's website and very likely someone has even made a video tutorial.

Dreamer Family

 

Yet another new Maxis sim makeover from Sims 2's Pleasantview, this time it's the Dreamer family. I've based most of their characterization on the Sims 2 implementation, but also played a little grab bag from Sims 3 in determining Darleen and Darren's traits. 

 

 

Like in his Sims 3 incarnation, Darren is a 2-star celebrity. I leveled him up manually by putting him in a save and just fast-forwarding to have him create and sell his paintings. He has a degree in economics to reflect the fact that he had a job in the business career that he had quit in Sims 2, I also gave him the Irresponsible trait from Parenthood because their house is said to contain an unusual number of unpaid bills. 

 

In save I'm probably gonna change his crush to be on Bella Goth rather than Cassandra, because my version of Cassandra is very different from and much younger than Cassandra in Pleasantview in Sims 2, and with Bella not being mysteriously missing in my world, she seemed a more proper "muse" for Darren. How I'll do that in the save I'm not quite sure about yet, I might just set Darren's attractiveness preferences to reflect Bella's appearance and give them a very small amount of romantic relationship value. 

 

 

Now of course in Sims 2, Darleen starts out dead, and this is what I've based their characterization on as well, and how I'll implement it in the save, but as with Skip in the Broke family I'm including her here alive and well for those who want her like that. Darleen dying is probably the explanation for why Darren quit his job and is not taking good care of the household's finance. Dirk has a memory of having had a D in school and working his way back up to an A, so in my uploaded version where I can't really do that, I just set him as a D student, I also set his conflict resolution and emotional control character values quite low to reflect a deal of emotional trauma. 

 

Update 7/9/2020: Darren now has the Daydreamer custom trait by Kuttoe. It's noted and linked below. You'll have to download this separately, as sticking this in with the download risks including outdated versions.

So this was the last family I wanted to get done for my save! I said I was going to do the Landgraabs and Altos as well, but I've decided to push that back for the next version. Though their general appearances are pretty much complete at this point. The reason I'm delaying them is mostly because I want to integrate Basemental Gangs stuff with the Altos (as discussed on the previous page), which includes setting up a bunch of stuff with that, and making NPCs for that, and the Landgraabs will also wait because they kind of fit in with the Altos because of their rivalry and general hostility to each other. 

 

This means I'm getting very close to actually releasing the first version of my save! There's a couple of things that I still want to do though. First of all I want to put together homes for Michael Bachelor and the Burb family. That shouldn't take too long, I just need to find a good starting point. Then I want to add in a couple more NPC sims to begin fleshing out the world.

 

I'm thinking I'm going to generate a couple more extended family members for the families I'm including to give me a couple more elders (in addition to a couple of random ones), then (since there are a few teen sims in the families I've made for this) putting together a small batch of NPC teens/high schoolers (I'm thinking 8, 4 of each gender), possibly a couple of child sims as well (not high priority, though it would be very quick due to my lack of interest in child CC and such).

 

Then for young adult and adult sims I'm thinking I'll do 1 or 2 more groups of NPC sims, as in sims assigned to a specific in-game NPC role (like the maids). Don't know quite which ones would be most appropriate and highly visible. Any suggestions here? I'm thinking in terms of Sims 4 NPC roles, not sims to remake.

Maybe it works better now, but I always had trouble specifically setting up bartenders using NPC control. Lot sims like that don't work quite like maids and postmen for some reason, that said I do think it's weighted to assign the role to an unplayed, unemployed sim with mixology skill. I do agree about them being useful though, same with the diner/restaurant, and there you actually have pretty good control over it if you've set up a sim who owns it. I am considering having Maryam's uncle own the diner, and I think it'll have to wait until a future (possibly next) version of my save to be finished for me to add in them and set that up. 

 

I was thinking about it some for my self and I think initially, mailmen, pizza delivery and repair sims would be the most highly visible to start out with. I (and you) will just have to accept that things aren't really finished in the first version and that random and (remaining) base game Maxis sims will fill out the world rather than it being all my sims.

Similar, I know you have a wide range of body types represented, but do you have any plans to do a more dramatically petite build? I've never really played with the height slider choices and I know you have some shorter characters, but just for their builds overall?

 

As always, love the characters. Can't tell you how many of my characters use Thalia Jordan's face as their base.

Oh whoops, nothing that would violate the rules, though my phrasing was poor. I feel like most of yours are average in build to more thick, and since I pretty much just use your sims, I've noticed a trend in my town populations lately. I was wondering if you had any less built sims lined up.

Hmm... well, we'll see and you'll have to judge what comes if it works in that way for you. Of sims that are alreadty in this I think Cassandra might work for you? She's pretty skinny and you could essentially just edit her to remove her boob job and she'd probably fit the bill.

Teen Townies

  

 

So this is somewhat like the NPC sims I've been uploading, but also not, in that they they're not set up in NPC roles, but more akin to the premade towwnies of the earlier games. I figured because the Maxis families I've remade to set up my save included a fair number of teen sims, that it might be useful to throw in some teen towneis just to populate the world and interact with for them. 

 

They're not as detailed as my normal sims (at least the female sims) in terms of number of outfits and such, but because of the sheer number of sims present we're still talking a good deal of CC here. Like with my NPC sims I dispensed with the outfit lookbooks and background stories (hope that's okay). That said I have set them up with skills, traits and character values and they have different school grades. Some of them are based on Pleasantview NPCs, some only have the names of Pleasant view NPCs. You don't have to keep them unplayed like the NPC sims, though in my save they are going to be marked as unplayed and be homeless, I essentially made them for a bit of initial flavor.

UPDATE 1/30/21: The sims have been updated for the skintones patch, that means that most of them have slightly different, but similar enough skintones compared to their old versions. 

Also now Meadow Thayer has a custom trait, "Perky" from this pack , you need to grab that separately if you want to use it. 

 

In addition to that I've added two more sims with names and personalities loosely based on teen sims from Sims 3.

All these new sims and I won't get to use them! My laptop's time is limited I feel, and there's no telling when or if I'll ever be able to replace it. To play it safe I went back to The Sims 2 for the time being because I'm certain my laptop can handle it (at least I hope so). On the flip side getting to play The Sims 2 again plus seeing your Sims 2 reincarnations does justice for nostalgia.

So this is somewhat like the NPC sims I've been uploading, but also not, in that they they're not set up in NPC roles, but more akin to the premade towwnies of the earlier games. I figured because the Maxis families I've remade to set up my save included a fair number of teen sims, that it might be useful to throw in some teen towneis just to populate the world and interact with for them. 

 

They're not as detailed as my normal sims (at least the female sims) in terms of number of outfits and such, but because of the sheer number of sims present we're still talking a good deal of CC here. Like with my NPC sims I dispensed with the outfit lookbooks and background stories (hope that's okay). That said I have set them up with skills, traits and character values and they have different school grades. Some of them are based on Pleasantview NPCs, some only have the names of Pleasant view NPCs. You don't have to keep them unplayed like the NPC sims, though in my save they are going to be marked as unplayed and be homeless, I essentially made them for a bit of initial flavor.

I've reuploaded the extended (new) Goth family. No CC changes, but I've chagned around Michael Bachelor quite a bit. I was setting up his house in Oasis Springs and I kind of got the idea that a fun thing for him would be that since he's wealthy, given where he's living and such that he (instead of being a lawyer as I had him set up as) got wealthy as a start up entrepreneur, sold his company and now sort of kicks back enjoying his wealth, a decent level of fame and his relationship with Dina Caliente. He's now a level 3 celebrity, has developed an app (might carry over, dunno), is at level 8 of the tech-guru career, has a degree in computer science from Foxbury and has high programming and charisma skills in addition to a number of reward traits. 

 

   

 

Another change I've made (only implemented in the extended Goth family household at the moment) is use MCCC to set Bella as Cassandra's mother (which also makes her Michael's niece), something I couldn't do in CAS since they are both young adults. This is to reflect that while in my version she is not her biological mother, she is still her mother in a sort of legal sense, also becaue it establishes Michael as Cassandra's uncle.

Getting pretty close to getting the first version of my save done now! I've been putting together a few more extended family members to increase the number of elder sims around. 

 

Brandi Broke's parents, Bob and Betty Newbie, created using her genetics.

 

Mary-Sue Pleasant's (adoptive) parents, Herb and Coral Oldie.

 

And then the final few sims I'm going to want to get done for this is some service NPCs, repairmen, a mail carrier, and one or two pizza delivery sims. These will in all likelihood be made using my old, unusued or unfinished sims and adapting them to the role. Here's the two I've decided to use as repairmen. 

 

 

With that in mind (and the fact that as NPC sims I'm going light on the number of outfits and CC) it shouldn't be too long to complete and upload these. At the moment though I'm finishing up the remaining lots I want to include, which at this moment is just Michael Bachelor's house. Once that is done I'm going to actually begin setting up the world with relationships and all that. With any luck the save will be out by the end of this weekend!

 

Just as a note, I've decided to push the work on completing pretty much all of (my version of) Oasis Springs's community lots into the next version, so the first release will be a bit bare in that remark. To do it as I want to I'd have to complete a bunch more NPCs and lots. And at this point I want to put something out that I can add to. Future updates will likely be smaller in terms of the stuff they add at once. This means that the community lots and general stuff outside of the residences I'm including with the save will be limited at first, but until I get to adding that in myself you can of course just add in your own community lots in the mean time

 

The next version (or versions if I piece it up into smaller additions) then will only really have the Landgraab and Alto families and focus on implementing lots and related NPCs for Oasis Springs's community lots, including my strip club lot, and then Basemental Gangs content related to the "Alto crime family" reimagining I'm doing on that front.
