Cheri Portraits

Version 2.3.3 - 10 November 2019

by Cheri

Cheri Portraits is a mod that replaces the portraits of female characters with sexy and beautiful painted fantasy portraits.

Options

  • You can give all characters portraits, or assign the portraits manually.
  • You can give characters with Luxuria Fantasia's Masculine or Feminine traits gender-bent portraits.
  • Male Portraits completes the portrait overhaul by replacing the portraits of all male characters.
  • Luxuria Fantasia Replacer replaces all default Luxuria Fantasia female racial portraits to match the style of Cheri Portraits. It does not replace male racial portraits. This portrait pack is now included with Luxuria Fantasia, so it has been removed from this mod's download page.

Compatibility

  • Designed to be compatible with Luxuria Fantasia and its submods.
  • Should be compatible with almost everything. This mod doesn't overwrite any files. The worst thing that can happen is the wrong portrait appearing.
  • Use with my other mod, Everyone Is Female, for best results!

Installation

  • Download the main archive and any optional add-ons you want to install. Use 7zip to extract them into My Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II/mod/

Instructions

Use the Assign Cheri Portraits decision in the intrigue menu and right-click characters to give them random portraits.

If you set the Cheri Portraits game rule to All, every character is automatically assigned a random portrait appropriate for their culture.

To manually set your portrait (the base human portrait, not the Luxuria Fantasia racial portrait):

  1. Open the console by pressing the grave ` key
  2. Run the command event CheriPortraits.1 to clear your portrait
  3. Run the command add_trait cheri_portraitX where X is any number between 1 and 26. This will give you one of the 26 portraits available.
    1. Run the command add_trait cheri_portrait_south_asian if you want a portrait from the list of South Asian portraits.
    2. Run the command add_trait cheri_portrait_east_asian if you want a portrait from the list of East Asian portraits.
    3. If you don't add either of those traits, you will get a portrait from the default list of European portraits.
  4. If you don't like the portrait you got, run the command remove_trait cheri_portraitX where X is the same number you chose earlier. Then repeat Step 3 with a different number to get a different picture.

You can run these commands on other NPCs by appending their character ID to the end of the command. For example, event CheriPortraits.1 7757 and add_trait cheri_portrait1 7757 will give Duchess Matilda of Tuscany (character #7757) the first European portrait. You can see a character's ID by typing charinfo.

These portraits are awesome! Is there a way I can edit the mod so the portraits only effect the character I am playing? I tried editing the events.txt but I couldn't figure it out.

Change

character_event = {
    id = CheriPortraits.0
    hide_window = yes
    is_triggered_only = yes

to

character_event = {
    id = CheriPortraits.0
    hide_window = yes
    is_triggered_only = yes
    ai = no

I love dynamic portraits... but I gotta admit, some of the Ethnicities from Paradox... well those are some of the hardest living 16 year olds I've ever seen. Many of the Eastern and Indian default portraits look like they've got old yak leather for skin. I really appreciate this mod! :)

Optional Add-ons

Male Portraits completes the portrait overhaul by replacing the portraits of all male characters.

Dark World Replacer replaces all default Dark World Fantasy racial portraits to match the style of Cheri Portraits.

Lol, the Bowsette Dragonkin portrait in the DW replacer. Any chance you could add a feature to cycle through the portraits to get the one you want? Not just on the PC but also NPCs?

You can run the commands described in the instructions on other NPCs by appending their character ID to the end of the command. For example, event CheriPortraits.2 7757 will give Duchess Matilda of Tuscany (character #7757) a random portrait.

It's absurdly difficult to find good pictures of dragon girls. I figure I'm allowed to use one Bowsette picture.

No argument. It actually fits the "high fantasy/European monarch/naughty" niche that DWF has. And realizing that a meme seamlessly fits into the lore is hilarious.

so where do you put the files for the dark world replacer in the fantasy folder? or the cheri folder?

Inside the archive is a folder called Cheri Portraits. Merge it with the one from the main download.

so basicly you're saying just put the extracted folder as a whole into the main cheri folder then? if not then I might just be too stupid to understand the whole "merge" process. I do apologize for the trouble that my ineptitude is causing you.

Literally just extract all the archives into the same folder. At the end you should have only a single "Cheri Portraits" folder containing the contents of all the different Cheri Portraits folders in the different archives.

I really like the portrait selection, which is why I wouldn't want to cheapen them by having everybody have those portraits. Would it be possible to make it a character option when you right click on their faces? It would essentially allow people to pick and choose who gets to have these wonderful portraits.

Version 2.1.1 - 2 July 2019, part 3

  • Added a game rule to decide whether everyone should be assigned a portrait at game start or not.
  • Added a decision to assign a random portrait, available through the intrigue menu, so you don't have to fiddle with console commands.
