elxdark Posted September 1, 2019 Author Posted September 1, 2019 Vindictus Valkyrie UUNP released! Cool outfit but in my opinion is not really well ported it has a lot of flaws but the design is pretty good other than that it's a good outfit for mashups I also discovered something really interesting when doing a conversion, I will explain this later today Special notes This outfit was really easy to convert due to that it has the uunp body as base BUT it has a lot of bad weight paiting in pretty much every part even in the hdt ones so I'm not going to fix those for now since it will take a lot of time and I want to focus in other conversions. The parts that really caught my attention were the upper and the wings those are fine, it is still a really cool outfit but take in mind that I didn't fix any weight paiting, it uses the original weight paiting so you may notice some weird effects when doing poses but overall it doesn't look that bad and I removed almost all the clipping. Enjoy EDIT: Just found someone who did another uunp conversion of this I recommend to check it out! It has a retexture of the set with better boots and also smp effect. I recommend to use my conversion for the top and the textures + boots with this other conversion Vindictus Valkyrie by Xing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1te5S_K0a9YHUf6ebxJ5rNKEw2Ormf19x/view Xing Twitter https://twitter.com/qoCao2APZ0mOFXU Spoiler 8

elxdark Posted September 2, 2019 Author Posted September 2, 2019 So guys what I wanted to explain is that I discovered something really important when doing a conversion. Since Vindictus Valkyrie is based on UUNP body it was pretty easy to test this change. Basically when you are doing a UUNP conversion the armor/outfit will change its form due to the UUNP bodies making the outfit look weird and bad, most of the time people who convert armors don't notice these changes, because either the changes are not that bad or simply because lazyness. I discovered these changes in my last conversion of bdor summerbox, since I created custom bodies that use a lot of oppai and cleavage sliders the outfits became bad looking because too much cleavage or big boobs usually deform the outfit entirely. What I'm trying to say is that when you convert an outfit/armor you think if you do the conversion right(no clipping, tight etc) you are fine.. but no really. I realized that in a lot of bodies the outfit deforms so much that it looks terrible and you need to fix it! this is really noticeable in weight 0 bodies and bodies with a lot of cleavage like 7b oppai, 7b cleavage, unpb oppai. I will show you a few example I took from Valkyrie: Since it's based on the UUNP body it doesn't take more than 2 minutes to convert, on the left side is the conversion and on the right is the conversion + my fixes. Bodies used are Bomshell-cleavage-oppai-custom It's a lot for noticeable in game! The point of this thread guys is that before doing more conversions I want to go back and check all my conversions, I want to fix everything I can because first I want to wear these outfits with my custom bodies and also because my goal is to bring you the best quality possible, almost if every conversion was made for every each body. It will take a while to fix all of them so I may do a few conversions here and there in between 8
Grey Cloud Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 Well you lost me there. The only difference I can see is the breasts being larger/wider on the left-hand images. Would that have any affect on more UUNP-sized breasts?

Maybe I didn't take the best images but it just was to show the difference, in game and when converting in outfit studio the difference is day and night. Basically if you take lets say a outfit with 7B bomshell base after you convert it, it will look really good with bomshell but it may look wrong with other bodies, this happens with every outfit/mod you want convert it will depend a lot in the body base and how well you do the conversion but in a few cases the outfit/mod will look really awful in some bodies and you will need to fix it. Again the left side is the normal conversion and the right are the fixes. I used the 7B Cleavage as example 8
Grey Cloud Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 Righty-ho, I've got it now. ? Ignore me and carry on doing the good stuff. Thanks. 1

What's your process for correcting this and getting such a clean result? I've tried a few conversions for myself and have tried moving the meshes around in Outfit Studio but always end up with a mess. Thanks!

What's your process for correcting this and getting such a clean result? I've tried a few conversions for myself and have tried moving the meshes around in Outfit Studio but always end up with a mess. Thanks! Well, first always make sure to make your conversion as tight as possible that will make the armor look better but at the cost of having more work to do due to the clipping that it will have. However I always prefer the quality in my conversions so I always try to do that knowing that I will have to spend more time fixing all the clipping but the results are worth imo and most of the time you can just create a zap slider to remove the intense clipping which helps a lot. Before making any changes in the outfit, check all the other bodies you want to convert then you will probably notice a lot of them have similar issues e.g. clipping in the same side, then you increase the size a bit in that part with all the sliders at 0 so that means you will fix that clipping for every body that had that issue without having to do the same everytime for every body. things like that you will learn each time you want to convert armors/outfits, I'm still learning a lof of things literally each time I make a new conversion I learn something different, so it's a lot of try and error. For example in the valkyrie armor what I did was putting the upper part as close as I could to the skin because that gives it the feel of a more revealed effect to the outfit, showing more skin is always better IF you can do it, sometimes the outfit/armor will just look wrong or will be too hard to remove the clippings. When I do these kind of changes like making the outfit more tight or revealing I often use the move and the deflate tools, be aware that both of them will create different results depending from the side you are using the tool, also make sure to check the outfit/armor with the vertice mode (right side, click on the armor part you want to edit) that will show you how the vertices work, it's easier to catch the flaws your conversion has in that mode. 1

I've noticed in quite a few conversions now but never quite understood the reasoning behind it. it's simply to gain time, by doing the zap slider you will remove that annoying clipping that otherwise you would have either spend a lot of time fixing it with weight paiting or increasing the size of the clothes which isn't recommended and only do it when there isn't any other options. So basically it's your trump card that let you remove the clipping in a few steps without wasting an excessive amount of time 1
