trgdolors Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 @Aylis_Temp Oh, that is funny! While you were posting that I was running around sniping in Ryn's Karthspire. That is the only mod I have looked at from that MA so far, but it seems pretty impressive. And weirdly efficient for how stuff is going on. 1

He even added a small destroyed village between Whiterun and the 'Halted Stream Camp'. Looks like the bandits there pillaged that location... And no gaps in the landscape. Which is why a lot of mods won't be added. This way we get a 'fresh' Skyrim with a lot of 'new' locations to rediscover. Btw. did you see any problems? If not i can add it without testing here.
wollboi Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 (edited) Nah, I'm never mad about trying new mods, even if it means running DynDOLOD again. Going to try a new run now and see how everything looks. A lot of stuff was chopped from SE, but I like the new slimmed down design. I just wish DAR would hurry up and get updated to AE, that's the only thing I really miss about making the jump. One thing I did notice is that I think 3BBB needs to be above OStim or Wrye complains (I know we're not using a bashed patch, but I still use it just to check plugin order). Edit - Just realized there's no mention of which ENB to use in the spreadsheet. Did you settle on PI-CHO? Edit 2 - No Display Tweaks? We're stuck at 60 FPS now. Edited November 6, 2022 by wollboi 1

Unfortunately, it was raining hard in game, and it was late. So I can't vouch 100% yet. But I also have a medium level computer and a LOT of NPC adding mods. Heck a lot of mods period. And it worked pretty well considering there was... a lot going on there! And I agree completely with @wollboi "Never mad about trying new mods"! 1
wollboi Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 I'm getting CTDs all over the place. With ASLAL it's crashing five seconds after closing Racemenu. Took that out and it got all the way through the opening scene before it constantly crashes right at the beheading scene.
Aylis_Temp Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 (edited) Release 'Skyrim AE for Beginners 0.9.1 (3BA/HIMBO/Seasons)' I didn't expect to make another update so soon (i intended to wait for the grass cache mod). Well, once you see what this update accomplishes you'll understand why i had to change my plans and move this fast... Release file: SAE V0.9.1.ods I also reworked, as promised, the section for DynDOLOD. The mini-guide is now completely included. For those who already have created the mods for DynDOLOD: You can keep most of the files from 'Step 1'. You only have to rerun 'Tamriel' (don't forget to activate the seasons) as this is the only part with changes. Sadly i can't do much about the other steps. Those have to be rerun. And don't forgeet to rerun LUX and LUX Orbis. This will add patches for the new mods. Edited November 6, 2022 by Aylis_Temp
Aylis_Temp Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 @wollboi The vanilla start has always been wonky when it comes to heavier mods. After the cave usually everything starts to work right. For a vanilla start i'd deactivate the ESP for: Andromeda Morrowloot Odin Timing is everything
wollboi Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 (edited) @Aylis_Temp Nah, I mean it crashes in the opening cell of ASLAL. Edit - In happy news, it looks like Go to Bed has finally been updated. Edited November 6, 2022 by wollboi

So it could be the lighting, something unusual to see in there? Or meshes. Same question again. Last thing could be a mod with a MCM misfiring (i think there are around 22 starting up). After creation i usually stand still and wait 'til Odin (last one for me) has distributed his stuff. Edited November 6, 2022 by Aylis_Temp
wollboi Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 (edited) @Aylis_Temp Yeah, I do the same. It only gets to like the second or third popup before it crashes, right when it Autosaves. I've got everything below ASLAL disabled to try to figure out what's going on. No conflicts for it in SSEEdit. Edited November 6, 2022 by wollboi

wollboi Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 (edited) Hmm, so it's not ASLAL. That wouldn't make sense. It pretty reliably crashes when I've got everything disabled from Housing down. I see some people complaining about a conflict between the Skaal house mod and one of the snowing mods. Still investigating. Edit - Think it was my bad. I'm running now. Now I get to rerun DynDOLOD, the national pastime. Edited November 6, 2022 by wollboi
wollboi Posted November 7, 2022 Posted November 7, 2022 (edited) Couple things I really miss from the old list: * Simply Reaistic Armor. The Default Stormcloak armor is fugly. (Or was that GAR?) * So is Ralof. Any thoughts about using High Poly NPCs for characters that Pandorable doesn't cover? Edited November 7, 2022 by wollboi

Here are a couple Stormcloak armors I have been trying lately: Stormcloak Warmaiden Armor (CBBE 3BA- HIMBO) This MA has some others for bandits and the forsworn, if anyone cares for the style. Its ESLed. Its distributed to leveled lists (my SE self is still using Bash). Sons of Skyrim From NordwarUA. I used ESPFE Follower - Eslify facegen and voices to compact/ESL it. I think it is placed into the lists, too. And this simple ESLed mod, Buyable Horse Armor, has various horse saddles you can buy at the stables, including a Stormcloak saddle. Its not new, but I have been trying to update horse stuff lately. and some of the other saddle/barding/armor mods are... we'll say, needing updates... Edited November 7, 2022 by trgdolors
wollboi Posted November 7, 2022 Posted November 7, 2022 (edited) I'm about 50/50 adore/despise Phoenix Compendium: - Maybe I'm spoiled by Elden Ring, but the sound of walking around in heavy armor is a step down. I miss the jingle-jangle I had before installing it. - For some reason, my character's footsteps sound normal while jogging, but while walking sounds like a dinosaur after Thanksgiving dinner. - Horses, please STFU. The noises they make are constant. +/- Some of the menu sound effects are good, some aren't. + Holy hell this music is so good. Something must be wrong with my build because I've had two crashes and floating lanterns. Still, everything looks fantastic. Edit - Crashes every time I get near the door to the college. Think I'm done with Skyrim for a bit. Edited November 7, 2022 by wollboi
trgdolors Posted November 7, 2022 Posted November 7, 2022 @wollboi Super unlikely extreme long shot for the crashing: Have you run Windows Check Disk (chkdsk) recently?

Tops34 Posted November 7, 2022 Posted November 7, 2022 (edited) Maybe that's interesting for you AE-Guys: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/78293 It's a pre-cache for the Folkvangr grass mod. Edited November 7, 2022 by Tops34 1

Think I'm done with Skyrim for a bit. Back in Oldrim days, crashing at the entrance doors of the College in Winterhold was a sign of Script overload and or borked scripts. Have you tried to run Resaver and see if you have a clean save at all?.
axz2 Posted November 7, 2022 Posted November 7, 2022 Last couple of Jay Serpa's mod's look interesting. Civil War Lines Expansion. and Animals Swim (Sort of)
wollboi Posted November 7, 2022 Posted November 7, 2022 (edited) @trgdolors I think it was a plugin dependency issue. I ran Wrye and had a few plugins out of order. I managed to get into the college, although I went around the perimeter before running in so I don't know if that made a difference (I doubt it). There are some people with similar issues on Nexus, and it always ends up being a missing Lux plugin. I'm going to end up reinstalling Lux a lot. After that, I actually had a pretty good run without any crashes. No crashes in around two hours and then I stopped for the night. Rode around the map and everything looks great--from an immersion standpoint and a graphical standpoint. Absolutely blown the fuck away by the Whiterun city limits mod. I got turned around and lost ... IN WHITERUN?! Also went into a few of the CC interiors with no issue. @Vortec It's a very new save so shouldn't be any leftover script shenanigans. Ran Resaver just in case and it didn't find anything, but I'm hoping it was just a jumbled plugin or two. @Aylis_Temp I'd honestly love to go back to the old various armor mods. The AIO is very nice, but there are some great ones missing now. I forgot how ugly scaled armor is in this game. Also, I'm going to be slowly adding some mods back in as they're updated to see how they run in this new build in case you'd like to take a look at them or revisit them. As always, thanks for all your hard work. Edited November 7, 2022 by wollboi
wollboi Posted November 7, 2022 Posted November 7, 2022 (edited) There's a new edit for Equus that cuts down on the horse volume. I hope it does the same for the frequency, which I think is the real problem. [Apologies to Phoenix for blaming it for the horse noises, I forgot about this one.] I'm going to try it out. New Female Giant looks neat. I'd say it's still immersive, especially the dirty version, but I still like the MNC version better. This made me smile quite a bit. Khajiit Has Wares doesn't play well with Ryn. That's a shame because it looked so nice and it would fit in very well. Hopefully there will be a patch. If the Companion Questline Tweaks mod stays in, then Lilebonymace's patches would still be useful. It has a patch for it and USSEP. Edited November 7, 2022 by wollboi 1

The AIO saves us a few ESP (five ESP instead of one is a pain) but it has issues and i was unsuccessful fixing those so there doesn't seem to be a viable alternative.
axz2 Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 People playing the game on potatoes might use the 2K version of Majestic Mountains. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/78379 I haven't used that mod at this time though so I can't say how much performance improvement you would get (probably only help a lot if your low on VRAM) or how reduced the quality is. If the new mod-list is very slow for me I'll probably give it a try. 3
