Anubid Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 Hello there! Im not completely new to modding Skyrim, but last I played in 2014 so I might as well be. This time I wanted to include adult mods but not turn the game into a porn simulator, just roleplay as evil guy, with my own slave dungeon and what not. But I would like to instal a lot of sfw mods too - something like GEMS list, nothing experimental but not basic either, mainly enriching the world (interesting NPCs, new quests and expanded towns, immersive armors and weapons, maybe an overhaul like requiem etc.). From what I have read on this site (sorry its really overwhelming), adult mods arent Special Edition compatible (at least for the most part) right? So Im "limited" to Legendary edition. But I remember when I installed too many mods back in the day, the game would often crash (memory limitation iirc? but HW was not an issue even then). So hence my question, should I do two seperate installations one for gameplay and second one for adult times or do you somehow manage to keep the game intact and running with just one instance? I would ofc prefer the one, but I dont know how demanding the adult mods are.
Grey Cloud Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 If you use MO you can use different profiles for different mod combinations. Personally I use NMM and just have a constant 'default' mod list which I add mods to try out and then either keep or dump. Things have moved on since 2014 and you may want to do some serious refresher research. Main thing is to get your base game stable before you start throwing any mods at it. S.T.E.P. is always a good place to start. https://wiki.step-project.com/STEP:2.10.0 You need not bother with Step2 and their mods.

Not sure what you are reading. Sexlab for SSE is out and quite a lot of mods have been ported: https://www.loverslab.com/forum/69-downloads-skyrim-special-edition-adult-mods/
myuhinny Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 LE mods are not compatible but many are being ported over to SE.
fred200 Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 Vortex Profiles work very well. A lot of Adult mods do not place nicely with each other, so I segregate them into different profiles. One, "Default", is my starting point for all other profiles. Maria Eden - if I ran it - would get a profile all by itself. It does not play nice with anyone. DCL gets a profile, MME gets a profile. PAHE is well enough behaved that most profiles include it. You get the idea. I should add - I run SE pretty much exclusively. Everything has been converted - or I convert what I need.

I browsed this forum mainly through "downloads" section and didnt notice that one. Thank you. Just a question, are the animations in section "download - skyrim - animations" compatible with the SSE sexlab? It says it includes a lot already, but I imagine its not all of them.

The trick is to make sure you get the correct version for the Skyrim you run. Mix n match will kill your game.
myuhinny Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 Click downloads then scroll down to skyrim SE and search there for any mod that is compatible for SE and that has been ported over. If there is a mod from LE that you like but hasn't been ported over then you'll have to find out how to port it to SE.

Since animations require running FNIS For Users, which has a box to check for SE compatibility, you'll know before you launch your game. Even then, it's easier to just check if the mod you're downloading says "SE" or "Special Edition" in the file name. If neither one appears, chances are good it's not SE compatible.

Well... my gameplay profile is a pron hell. But it took me a couple of years to get that stable. I assume it can be achieved earlier, but if you actually care about your current save i'd keep it "pure" until you have at least some experience. Technically adult mods aren't really different to other ones, but it's totally possible to screw your save with non-adult mods either, so...
Anubid Posted February 3, 2019 Author Posted February 3, 2019 Alright guys, thank you all I might try to put it in one profile once I actually know what the hell is going on.
Lostdreamer Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 No. Simply because a lot of my LL mods ARE my gameplay tweaks. Deviously Cursed Loot will turn your game upside down by making dungeons an epic exercise in risk management and trying to get out without being tied up and utterly crippled. Defeat? Crank up the combat difficulty - losing a fight doesn't result in loading a previous save any longer. Devious Followers - introduces a gold overhead - which completely changes the game. Suddenly you have time constraints and, once setup right, raising money for things like Proudspire Manor becomes a reasonable challenge. I'm sure there are plenty of others.
