sunrise98 Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 I'm looking to start a second character (the opposite gender of my main), and I was wondering if I could successfully mod for both genders without overwriting anything for each of them? I use Nexus Mod Manager and I have been trying to search the internet for an answer but nothing is clear enough. Other solutions I've come across haven't worked! I'm fairly new so I'd very much appreciate details. Cheers! TLDR; My main character is female, and I want to start a male. How can I actively mod for both using NMM?

I'm not really sure how MO works either, even if I were to install it. Is it possible to use MO just for the male and keep NMM for my current character?

No. You should definitely use MO to manage your Skyrim mods- especially if you are going to switch mod profiles. NMM does not work well doing this (understatement) and never use two mod managers for the same game. There are plenty of guides to install and use MO if you search a little and it will require some learning. I'm not saying this because it's a preference. I'm saying it to help you avoid more problems that many other gamers have found out the hard way.
Grey Cloud Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 I use NMM and use both genders (and futa) on the same profile. I don't use any gender-specific mods though if I did I would just deselect them in the plug-in list.

Don't know of many people who have more than 1 for their game.

That's a good practice. I had 2 profiles once with NMM and it did not work well switching back and forth. Not saying it can't be done with NMM, just that I think it is much easier and reliable with MO. NMM has a tendency to screw up when trying to handle many, many mods at one time.

I can understand having one 'bare-bones' profile for testing and one modded for regular playing but generally speaking I don't bother about a game/save screwing up because a) it very seldom happpens and b) I would either rollback or start a new game.
