I'm going through a new game on a new system and realized I never really looked around for good poster and comics mods. What are your favorites and why do you love them?

I have to stick with  Sickotik's great mod though it is a bit NSFW but at least the nudes are classic (mostly).   Though there are some flat out X rated posters.    Or were you looking for straight up comic book replacers?

There are a couple more that only replace posters but are worth a look see.  One is a classic (lore friendly in my opinion) called Pinups of the Wasteland:

and one of my favs though a bit heavy on the mod requirement side (a couple of mods are necessary to use it) is the Luis Royo collection here:

As to why I prefer these, is because i want classic and/or Heavy Metal style art work,  not necessarily porn.

Though there does not seem to be a decent nsfw version covering all the magazines in the game or at least not one that I like, so it does not cover some of the dlc stuff, scav magazine being one it does not cover I think.

 

Though does anybody know a decent hq nsfw magazine cover replacer that does cover all the magazines?

The I overwrite the shadbase stuff with these in this order ;

If you are looking for sfw stuff then ignore all those I linked to as all are nsfw.

Assuming you're looking for SFW stuff, since this is in the Non-Adult section.

 

For Magazines, there is always Burnt Magazines and Comics. There is also the others done by FourAcres as well (Magazines, Comics, and Books). Otherwise there is Alternative Magazines which is pretty neat. And don't forget Comics Got Back to give them backsides as well.

 

Poster wise, not too many that are SFW as most just use the vanilla stuff. But I'd recommend checking out Proper Flyers and Posters at least. It retextures all those white blobs of posters and flyers everywhere which is so needed.

 

 

But if you are looking for NSFW stuff, I use my own magazine replacer. It's not the best work, but it fits better into the game (for me at least) than all these modern anime ones or real people ones. But to each their own. There are some others out there that are better done, but just not a fan of the art they use is all.

 

Then for posters and such, it's a mix of the Proper Flyers and Posters I linked above along with Cool and Sexy Clutter and Raunchy New Ads and Signs. They do a decent job of covering most of the posters out in the world and then I just use a combination of Erotic Paintings and Pinups of the Wasteland to cover paintings. I also use Art Connoisseur with Atom Bomb Pinups Paintings to add a little extra. Atom Bomb Pinups Paintings has a replacer as well, but the Art Connoisseur version has tons more than the replacer has.

You could always download the Random Painting generator. Point it to a local folder with around 200 pictures and it will make in-game paintings for you, if you want with wear & tear included to make it lore friendly. ;)

and xxxmags which is also on this site.

 

have more collectible mods though just not all magazines. 

but here are some other mods that add some magazines in or change them

changes comics, posters, and flags

changes burnt magazines and la coiffe

allows you to make the base game magazines

changes posters and billboards

a little over kill with comics

If you simply want to pick and choose what shows up you need a picture viewer that reads DDS files and/or an editor that can adjust DDS files... You will need to extract the files from BSA's if needed, or simply view them with the viewer...  I use Ifanviewer (with DDS plugin) and Paint.net.. both are free and fairly simple to use.

 

So the Idea is pick and choose.  You like one picture but not another you copy the name for the one you don't like and put it on a file you do like.  Then move the new picture in to replace the old one.

Wow.  Impressive!  The 2nd link is definitely the best.  I like most of the photos in this mod when I took a peek.
