skyrim were running smooth for years until

i have been playing skyrim for years ....stable with 250 mod ...until suddenly it crashes while loading new game or save ...what could have happened ..?? that's weird ...i never experienced sucha thing before ...

Reached the string limit? Just a guess.

Try to run a save cleaner on your same, and get rid of all orphan scripts and forms.

Did you change or update anything in your load order?

i used the save tool ona single save but nothing happened to those am i doing it wrong ..

Hmm what chevalierx said makes a lot of sense. I once allowed nvidia to update my graphics driver and it caused problems. Apparently users of Windows 10 regularly have problems with updates as well. Perhaps you should look in to this.

 

If updates are not the cause of the problem then perhaps try to verify the integrity of your game files.

still crashes while loading save or starting new game ...would fresh install fix this issue ??? it would be pain ....for all those 250 mods

In my experience a fresh install can be faster and less of a pain than trying to troubleshoot a problem.

 

Problems can take days to solve. A fresh install only takes a few hours.

 

If you decide to do a fresh install you may want to delete your Data folder beforehand to ensure that whatever is causing the problem is gone for good. Make a backup if you have enough disk space for it.

 

By any chance did you attempt to launch the game from your mod manager without being logged in to Steam? This can mess up your load order and overwrite your .ini files.

If you use a HDD, Defrag works wonders - sometimes.

But not the Windows defragmentation - eg. Auslogics Disk Defrag.

If you have CTD when load game try solve it with Load Game CTD Fix.

 

But if you have CTD when start a NEW GAME the problem is diferent.

Can be excesive animations, faulting files, incorrect load order...

 

As you say, you change nothing, but that is not real true.

Your savegame change in every play, and must make it for restore you in the game. But in the process, sometimes the game make an error and leave the savegame corrupted and unusable.

Try use ReSaver for recover it. Or try load a savegame from a week ago, or two if need.

 

Of course can be a hardware problem or a incompatibility with drivers.

Run others games for verify it. If others games run good can't be this.

I have a ton of animations and it causes infinite load screens (ILS). The only way I can play is by first loading a save in the Alternate Start cell, and from there I can load any other save without issue. If your game used to run smoothly and without changing anything in your mod list it started having CTDs it's probably caused by something else.

It is evident that something has changed. Probably, you lost something in the configuration.

 

We can try to locate the problem, but as onesumgame says, we may need days.

 

Of course, you can delete your Skyrim and start from scratch, but I'm sure that option ALSO needs days while you download the game, install it, configure it, enable the mod's, verify it ... and, of course, not It is free of problems.

You can find many problems in a NEW installation.

 

If you have MO, you're lucky. Start the game without MO. Launch a vanilla game and see if it works.

If the vanilla game does not start it's a problem in the base game.

Check the cache, re-download the game, reinstall it. Make it work.

 

If you use NMM try disabling all the mods you can to start the game.

If the vanilla game works it must be a problem in your manager.

 

Send us a list of plugins, a list of mods, a papyrus log, a fnis log, and any other helper files, such as enblocal.ini

Same if you have ILS. Maybe you need Crash Fixes 12. Try the two.

solved the problem ...it was the baka animations and nibbles animations ...both ctd while loading save game or newgame ...thanks to you all..

Then, is a know problem about excesive animations.

The asumption that you not change any in years is totally false.

Maybe the old versions have less animations, and when upgraded, you get the limit and get the CTD.

But you must updated it recently. Is the only explication.

fnis never told me anything about hitting it's limits ...after you told me it could be animations ..i remembered every time i hav a problem with skyrim it was always the animations ...so i rolled back mod by mod it it worked again ...i don't know why this happened actually ..could be problem with the mods
