HDT problem

Have you installed an HDT armor pack???

The vanilla armors are rigid by default. You must install an HDT armor pack compatible with BodySlide like Remodeled Armor for CBBE Bodyslide HDT and process all the armors in Batch Build with BodySlide for see the effect. I think the HDT Bounce is not applied when you remove the armor from dead body's, then not expect see it in that moment.

As i know, when you install Bounce affect to all vanilla NPC's, but not affect modded followers.

For install Bounce you can try with the link provided by 27X, but is a bit old and appear only work in UNP body.

As you have CBBE, i recomend you use the HDT Bounce and Jiggles CBBE Edition specific for CBBE updated this year.

Well HDT works just fine on my character but nude body of every npc is stiff. I don't how to fix it but I think it's probably load order problem. When I take armor from the dead enemy they're not nude immediately, their body disappears for a second then appears. Thanks in advance.

How do add the xml? If the NiStringExtraData directly in the Nif of armor?
And/or in the body nif?  You use custom race/body?

I understand that I need to have HDT armor replacer to see HDT effects on npc with armor. I think it's as you've said, I'm using all Bijin mods and it seems that HDT doesn't work on them but works on npcs that wasn't touch by them like some granny that I killed and undressed to checked it (not the best experience tbh.).

btw. sorry for the links but they worked when I checked them after posting ;/. They should work now but I will upload them in the attachment just in case.

I'm pretty new to modding so I have a lot of questions and doing my best to understand how everything works and depends on each other.

Why should I use it when even without it breast and butt physics works with only HDT and HDT mods? (What does it change?)

What's the difference between tbbp belly and tbbp only versions? Is it just tbbp with belly physics?

Sorry but I don't understand. I only know that .xml and .nif are files that has something to do with body and somehow are different from each other.

I don't use custom race but what do you mean by custom body? I'm currently learning how to use bodyslide so I used some nice looking preset and batch builded it just to see if it works. (and works fine but not on np from other mods  ;p)

It's even more mysterious for me now. I went to a bandit camp (there was one female and HDT worked) then I went to forsworn camp killed two females and on one of them it worked and on the other didn't. wtf. And as I said on npcs that HDT doesn't work when I take their armor off their body disappear for a second. I attached screenshots.  On the right one HDT works on the left doesn't.

Instead of screenshots, the Plugins.txt would be much better and easier to read.
If you use XMPSE, XP32 should be deleted, not disabled.

Does HDT work on the player when naked (NO item equipped)?

Again the question where is the xml involved. The XML must be part of a Nif as NiStringExtraData:
Name: HDT Havok Path
Value: skse \ plugins \ yourhdtstuff.xml

Please send your Plugins.txt and the hdtPhysicsExtensions.log (is in SKSE \ Plugins \)

First you must understand how work HDT...

HDT Physics Extensions is a dll for SKSE that simulate physics moving mesh for make, for example, the bounce.

The way for made is: Skyrim->SKSE->HDT->xml->skeleton->mesh

You must installl the game(of course), SKSE and HDT. Only with this you have a basic bounce because HDT include a basic hdtPhysicsExtensionsDefaultBBP.xml file for make it. That mean bounce work on basic game for nude player and vanilla npc's, BUT YOU CAN'T SEE IT because not have nude body.

For have NUDE BODY you must change the body model, installing CBBE for example, BUT the body model installed by CBBE not have HDT and you continue whitout see the bounce. For see it you must make that say the page of the mod:

Q5: How do I make this HDT/JellyBoobs compatible?
A: Install the HDT PE and XPMSE and BodySlide. You need to use the BodySlide program in order to build physics compatible bodies. See its own mod page for info on how to.

Then you must install BodySlide, from the same autor, and must install XPMSE for make work the physics.

When you have installed Skyrim +SKSE +HDT +XPMSE +CBBE +BodySlide you have the necesary for see the bounce for first time. But all of this must be installed in the correct way and you must learn how to use BodySlide. And all of this only work on NUDE BODY.

This bounce work with the original basic hdtPhysicsExtensionsDefaultBBP.xml file that come from the installation of HDT Physics Extensions. For personalice it and have bounce exagerated, reduced, with or without belly... you must go to HDT Bounce and Jiggles CBBE Edition and install the desired version. The first 10 downloads in this page only have ONE file inside it and is hdtPhysicsExtensionsDefaultBBP.xml

For see the bounce with an armor equiped you must install

But all of this ONLY WORK if you not add more mod's.

When you add more mod's like Bijin's mod's all go to trash and stop work and work in some npc's and not work in others and maybe work in nude body and maybe not.

Because the default versions of Bijin NOT HAVE HDT.

For make Bijin's compatibles with HDT you must search a bit and work a bit more.

Probably, if you install Bijin Bodyslides - CBBE and UUNP and follow the instructions in the web page all yours problems dissapear.

If the bounce work in some armors and not work in others is because the exact armor not have HDT support. You must search the mod armor in HDT version and install it.

If you see an npc that have HDT in armor and when remove the armor not have HDT in body is because that npc not use the default body and are ussing a personaliced body that can come for other mod.

Yes HDT works all the time on my character.

Ok, thank you for your explanation. But isn't in skyrim only one body files for each gender? Like body for every female and male (maybe only with different weight). Does followers from mods depend on other body files? If they do how can I replace it? I understand that body consists of skeleton, meshes that are shape and textures that are shell. Can you tell me how body files are named?

I've just checked out Bijin bodyslides that you've linked and it works, thank you a lot but there's still the issue with enemies that sometimes have the right body sometimes don't. It looks a bit like the game couldn't load the correct body so there's no body at all then it loads other body. Could this be an issue with OBIS?

The explanation was well meant - but in most things not correct - actually you should not read something like that.

How can HDT work when your log is completely empty?
Or do you use additionally HDT SMP? It has to be that way, because otherwise someone is lying. Either the hdt.log or ....

To make it easier for you:
Describe the problem in complete sentences, from A to Z.
And I mean from A to Z.

I used HDT log from overwrite in Mod Organizer. I'm confused. What do you mean by completely empty? There's content there. Is there supposed to be more? I'm really sorry but I dont know what to add to things I've already said. Please ask questions.

To summarize:

- Right now there's only one problem - npc's like bandits, forsworn etc. sometimes has the correct HDT body that I use and some of them don't.

- Npc's that has the wrong body when thier armor is taken they don't have body for a second then wrong body is loaded.

- I don't even know what HDT SMP is so there's no way I installed it.

Your HDT log is "empty" because it lists only the ID of you and / or NPC - but not a single XML.

And still all questions remain unanswered, right?
You do not say anything, which XML is used
You do not say anything, how is this XML integrated?
You do not really say anything.

If you want help or support the following rule applies: Trash in = Trash out.
Describe your problem completely (not just presumptive symptoms) and I'm sure that GenioMaestro, many others and I like to help.

"You do not say anything, which XML is used. You do not say anything, how is this XML integrated? " - I don't know how to check it and can't find anything in the internet.

I said I was new to modding so please have patience :D  If I could I would did it but I just dont know how to do it and searching  phares in google like "how to check XML skyrim", "XML skyrim version", "XML skyrim integration" don't work.

Sorry for my incompetence but if you know resources for a beginner like myself or would write how to do it I would be really grateful.

Each mod has its own files and each mod makes its changes intentionally. The problem starts when you have several mods that do the SAME thing, because they collide and overwrite each other and things do not work.

You can not install 50 mods one after the other without stopping and without performing intermediate tests. And pray to heaven so that everything mixes perfectly and work is a panacea.

First, I recommend you deactivate ALL the modifications and start to enable it in small groups. Start the game and see the results. It is the only way to know exactly what each mod does. And in this way you can learn and know where problems can come from and what mod can cause the problem because you know WHAT makes each mod individually. And then you can enable or disable, or move the modifications up or down, for try to solve your problems. It is the simple way of test and fail. And it's the way to learn.

For example, in your load order you have CalienteVanillaArmorTweaks.esp and i not know if you know WHAT make the mod. But go to the mod page and READ it. As result of the reading im sure you go to un-install it. If you install the new version or not is yours decision.

Same for TERAArmors_CBBE.esp because i not know if you have the the new version that add compatibility to HDT. Is the same problem that you have before with Bijin's.

You're rightly rightly right. It's not like I don't  read descriptions of mods (God forbid), I didn't want these skimpy hdt conversion of vanilla armors so I installed it even without HDT. But I I didn't know about these mods that you linked. they seem nice and I'm sure I will use them instead of my current one.

I was modding like that. But  I simply entered the game, moved a bit, checked animations and new content. I'd have never guessed that I will have problem like that.  tbh. when I first used mods a year ago I did exactly like you've written and just give up modding but right know I want to learn how to put things together. I already made some progress because animations work like they should, game rarely crashes and almost all things work fine

I will definitely try this.

Have you run LOOT on the mods?

Double-check that your armour mods are all CBBE (and not UNP or vanilla).

You have OBIS, Inconsequential NPCs and a couple of others - some will use their own body (which may not use HDT) and some will use your default body. It should tell you on the mod's description page.

About armor, nexus has more than 5k armor ... look what you want and install it ... and take off that you do not want ... but almost all HDT armors are skimpy...

Keep in mind that if you install multiple armor mods, one can overwrite the other and you may end up without knowing where the armor you want is coming from.

And when you install some mods, no specific armor mods, I mean normal mods, these mods can have custom armor and may not use the default armor. Then you can see two or more different bandits or forsworn or mages ... that use different armor that come from different mods.

For example, OBIS has custom shields and the Better Vampires have custom weapons.

One way to know where the modification comes from is to deactivate the suspect mod and see the result.

Another way is to look in the mod manager what files they have and what files they overwrite and which of their files are overwritten by others mod's.

The last option is to use the Mfg console that allows you to open the console and click on an item or npc and know where it is defined and what is the mod that makes the last modification.

That works without Mfg Console.
