Reginald_001 Posted September 30, 2018 Author Posted September 30, 2018 RED ROCKET BASEMENT PLAYER HOME HAS BEEN RELEASED!
Ghostman7nz Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 For those having issues with the dialog interface from XDI, The same author has another mod that is much more compatible and useful imo, But it takes more steps to get it set up properly. The mod is Dialogue Peek https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/14617?tab=files , you will also need fallout 4 translator https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/215/ to generate the strings files, but after that, you will see the normal text selection options until you mouse over them to get the full text showing. @Reginald_001 I ran a error scan in xedit and found a few that need fixin [00:00] Checking for Errors in [01] CompanionIvy.esp [00:01] DN120 "Sandy Coves Quest" [QUST:00026AA0] [00:01] QUST \ VMAD - Virtual Machine Adapter \ Script Fragments \ Script \ Script Data \ Properties \ Property \ Value \ Object Union \ Object v2 \ FormID -> [0024073B] < Error: Could not be resolved > [00:02] [DIAL:00072DFB] [00:02] DIAL -> Record marked as deleted but contains: Priority, Quest, Data, Subtype Name, Info Count [00:02] BoS101 "Call to Arms" [QUST:0006F5C1] [00:02] QUST \ VMAD - Virtual Machine Adapter \ Script Fragments \ Script \ Script Data \ Properties \ Property \ Value \ Object Union \ Object v2 \ FormID -> [0003FC17] < Error: Could not be resolved > [00:05] All Done!

The 1st error in Green is a vanilla game error: The same goes for the second error (in yellow): Because Ivy overrides these quests to inject dialogue, any original bugs in the game will be transferred to the override. You can see both entries have a green background, meaning there are no differences with the vanilla quest in the erroneous records (e.g. the bug exists in the original game).
Ghostman7nz Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 I saw that two of the three were base data errors, Disgusting how bethesda does that, so the only one of note is the deleted quest information, which to be fair I have very little experience dealing with quest setup. I just noticed them while tracking down a conflict and wanted to make sure they weren't missed. anyway sorry for the rushed bug post. I'll go back to lurking.

That 00072DFB dialogue is also base dialogue (note that it starts with 000, eg. base file). Many of these errors are benign though, you can ignore them as none of it is game breaking. It's actually not so much a game bug as it is a creation kit bug. When you remove an item, or a piece of dialogue, the creation kit sometimes doesn't remove other items that depend on it being there. So what you need to do is check all the use-info for an object before deleting it. But even when that is empty, there can still be dependencies, which are often unused in the game any way). In other news, Ivy has also released her 15th VLOG today..
Uncle64 Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 Dropping by to say that I love her ?? Currently use the addon ChickGeek. 1
Guest Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 Ivy gets some new clothes over on the Nxs. A really naughty straps and mesh body suit. Seems like Ivy is starting to "get around". --- Just wondering if any game developers have tried Ivy. They should be ashamed and embarrassed by the "companions" they make, I know I can't expect an Ivy, with all the dialogue she has, but they need to be more than a cargo dump and cannon fodder.

Reginald_001 Posted October 3, 2018 Author Posted October 3, 2018 After a very small hiatus, Ivy has just posted her 16th Video Blog called 'Slaughter'.
Hippeus Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 Just want to say I'm loving your companion Ivy. Some of the stuff that comes out her mouth is just like WTF but great at the same time. Using @Chic Geek's add-on and absolutely got to give her props for the voice acting and you Reginald for the scripted dialogue. Posted a nice screenshot of my PC Sarah with her new girlfriend! Spoiler 1
RowanSkie Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 On 9/30/2018 at 3:51 PM, Reginald_001 said: The player uses SHARED dialogue options within Ivy. This means that it's highly unlikely you'll get this to work with XDI, without breaking vanilla assets in the game. For instance, for the Service Menu, it uses the generic 'Let's see what you've got' line. If you would change that in Fo4Edit (through an override) into 'Service Menu', then when talking to a vendor, the player would suddenly be saying 'Service Menu'. I don't understand how using VANILLA/ORIGINAL definitions and assets and dialogue can in any way constitute incompatibility with XDI, other than that XDI must be broken in some way or another.. or it's setup has limitations that users need to learn to live with.. (see the paragraphe above). In this case, shared dialogue which is a feature of the Fallout engine to use the same type of dialogue in different situations to save on memory. From the FAQ: - Ivy is not working 100% correct with the XDI mod / (read ANY dialogue mod) I think you mean to say that those mods are terribly buggy to begin with and they do not work correctly with Ivy, not the other way around. It's best you speak to the mod authors of those pieces of software, they will not be supported by me. (Really sorry if I sound harsh) But the Heather companion had the same issue and it was fixed by FO4Edit by the thing shown above. Hmm... I'll try to make an XDI patch, and I'll tell if I fixed it. Sorry if I'm stubborn. EDIT: Hmm. I suppose I've been beaten before I was even playing the game. Sorry! Post-analysis: XDI uses the NAM1 of each dialogue in every quest, so when you went to use shared dialogue with Ivy, you essentially locked out any XDI/FDI patches, at the cost of memory. Woohoo.

EDIT: XDI essentially reads and shows NAM1 instead of RNAM Prompt. Indeed.. A shared response is used by the player. For instance FollowerRelationsShipShared01 'How do you feel about us' Or for the Service menu: VendorSharedResponseXx: 'Show me what you've got' There is no NAM1 property you can set to override, so you need to go to the SOURCE 'FollowerRelationShipShared'. But if you change that, you change it for all placed where it's used. So if you change the VendorSharedResponseXx from 'Show me what you've got' to 'Enter Service Menu' the next time you talk with a vendor, instead of 'Show me what you've got', the caption will read 'Enter Service Menu' which will not fit vendor based dialogue. XDI should have added the option 'use RNAM instead of NAM1 for Shared dialogue' to begin with.
chubjub Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 I think it would be just as easy to write down what option's are . I'm waiting on on the Full ivy update before i start a new play through as Ivy is part of the core mods I base my mod list on. ( This is not a when is the update due post btw ) but I use XDI aswell just because i use other mods that require it soo when i get set up I'll post what the option's if that helps anyone. @Reginald_001 Do you have a patreon page or something so we could donate ? . 1

Reginald_001 Posted October 6, 2018 Author Posted October 6, 2018 I've been looking into a way of accommodating XDI users. The only way to do it, is to re-record the player dialogue and switch from shared dialogue to unique items for the player. It's quite a bit of work, I'll need to extract the 15k original female and male player lines, then record around 30 new dialogues for the player, then for each dialogue find the right original player voice sound- and lip file. It will mean that these wavs will be forced load into memory and as they are player sounds, will always remain in memory (this is the reason why shared dialogue was chosen). It would be (far) better if the XDI creators added an IF/THEN statement to their code like this pseudo code: IF Dialogue.Type = Shared Dialogue THEN RETURN [RNAM1.Value] ELSE RETURN [NAM1.Value] END IF And that would be all. They could make this choice optional for players in their holotape/settings screen/menu.
