Ramseur Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 Great, installed a dream. It was no good, I am just too old a dog to change. I just had to go with her "robot" voice. I have grown to love it in hours of her company. Thank you for this most excellent companion, I could not imagine playing Fallout 4 without her. Bethseda should pay you for keeping the game alive. 4

I will be the first to admit to being a serious fanboi of Chic Geek but a robotic voice over her's i can't wrap my head around. To each his own i guess. Great job on the companion Reg. This version has finally broke me of my need to have 10 -15 companion wearing nearly nothing following me around LOL. OCRSpartan out.

fred200 Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 Just a compatibility note. Ivy 4.0 is not compatible with Extended Dialogue Interface (XDI). The dialogue choices are - strange. No problems at all with the vanilla interface. and Chic Gerek is wonderful as the voice actress!
command88+ Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 For some reason i can't properly recruit her (maybe because i use AFT as well as Tee party companiosns and she was "managed" by AFT before) she keeps asking me for her redeem voucher, i give her the voucher, get the holotape, when i talk to her again, samek, asks for voucher, give voucher, get Tape..... When i recruit her with Tee party companions i get her dialogue options but when i dismiss her its back to "give voucher" again

I did try and Chic has a fantastic voice but having had hours with Ivy and taking into account she is a robot the all to real human voice did not sit right with my role play and to switch over to chic in the future it would have to be if Ivy regains her humanity. I think if this release had been my first meeting with Ivy then it would have been fine but as you say, each to his own. What we have to really appreciate, is that we were given a choice of voices which made a lot of work for Reginald and team I am sure, and appreciate it I do. 2

I found myself going back to the original voice as well. I do appreciate all the time everyone involved in the project put into it, but after so long questing and traveling with her, as well as a few restarts of the game, I did get used to the robotic voice. It has a certain charm to it. I did spend a few hours with the new version and the voice actress is definitely talented and did an excellent job with Ivy. Felt a bit odd with Ivy being as she was, and now hearing an actual human voice coming from her. Maybe, as you mentioned, if there were a short quest to it. Maybe a client told her about some tech place where she might be able to find a way of getting a new voice, and then the new voice acting comes in after. Either way, all of the time and work put into this new version of her is greatly appreciated as always and she still remains my favorite follower of all. Definitely top notch work from the entire crew. 1

You get used to the robotic voice at one point.. but once I switched to Chic's rendition I couldn't switch back and NOT miss all the emotion and inflections she puts into the dialogue. For me the entire experience is getting to know Ivy once more. Some sentences I heard 'in a certain way' I'm now hearing differently through Chic's voice, giving a lot of the content new meaning and direction. I'm amazed at the work she put it into it. On to creating the DLC parts! ps: I handed out too many 'likes' and can't like posts for the coming 24 hrs, but know that all input, from everyone, is greatly appreciated! 2

I love a more human sounding synth - and this one is perfect. If Google Home and Alexa sound human - I want my Synth to also. Now if Ivy could just tell me tomorrow's weather... Cheerss Posted June 2, 2018 Posted June 2, 2018 After this update, Ivy runs out of ammo, before 4.0 she had unlimited ammount of ammo, I gave her like 3 bullets and that's it, but now when I gave her 3 bullets - she made 3 shots. So have you removed this feature, or Ivy was glitched before the update for me and never had unlimited ammo feature? ?

Nothing was physically changed in the ESP in this build, other than some lines which were changed to reflect a more natural voice. Are you playing an existing save, or did you start a new game? I never heard of this glitch before. You could try cleaning your save, but it would reset Ivy's affinity. o.t.o.h. That'll be fun too. 1
