What is the first mod you installed?

I know the first mods I used predated the release of CK, so it was probably a nude reskin (As TheFirstLadyOfHats points out those tend to be the first to surface, since simple retextures are the some of the easiest mods to create and hack in).

But the worst habit my "modding experience" gave me would be insisting on manual installation.  Because who would trust a program to install things for me?  It took a while for me to finally give in to NMM.

I still do manual installation and will likely never pick up an utility like NMM for Skyrim. I'm an old "grew up with DOS" fart with stubbornness issues (I blame it on me being 90%+ German ?)

I used to do that untill Fallout 3, when suddenly it wasn't just dropping stuff into data files and I had to go look up what the fuck an OMOD was and why people weren't making data folders anymore, eventually my incompetance in extracting them turned me to Mod managers. :3

It's always Riverwood. Doesn't matter what it is, it's always in Riverwood. Faendal spends all that time chopping wood to make barrels so modders have somewhere to stick their items.

Whiterun would be a close second choice I would say.  I almost want to state that if you don't CTD running around Whiterun and Riverwood, chances are you are ok :)

Not sure what the first mod I ever installed is, but any time I redo my mods from scratch, the first mod I install is always Alternate Start.

I think the Whiterun fire department must be deathly concerned about The Bannered Mare, 'cause I'm pretty sure the on-paper occupancy limit is well below the thousands of followers who're all found there.

You forgot about:

- Immersive Wenches: 2 serving wenches in the inn, 1 walking around the city (homeless)

- Flower Girls: 1 walking around the city (homeless)

- Traveling NPCs (homeless)

- Other added trader NPCs (homeless)

"Wet & Cold: Go Home" and "Run for your life" will make everyone run indoor because of storms and dragon/vampire attacks (respectively).  All homeless NPCs will run to the inn.
