I have an issue or a bug with DCL and racemenu overlays. I received a slut collar but I want to remove it so I used the safeword in the MCM. It's removed, but if I then save and reload all my overlays like tattoos and makeup are gone, and not just visually. All slots are cleared, and that's a problem because I have rapetats that are timed. Otherwise it would be easy to load a preset. This happens only if I use the safeword.

 

Is there another way to remove it? Can I edit it in SSEEdit and enable cutting and lockpicking?

DD and DCL don't have any interactions with tattoos, it's not even an optional dependency to either of them as far as i remember. Do you have some sort of mod that makes tattoos like wearable items?

 

I can only remember something like SL Survival maybe incorporate tattoos in place of DD collar but this relation is so remote i don't even think it's what you are dealing with.

I have SL Survival and my character has a neck tattoo from that mod on my current save. But as you're saying, I don't think that's what causing this issue.

But slut collar is easy to remove, or hard depending on how you configured it in DCL's MCM menu. It was maybe possible to be tweaked down to 1 sex act and waiting for a single day? But you can also set it not possible to get from cursed traps at all.

 

But ideally you would simply load game when you receive an item you cannot deal with.

 

Now that you said you do have SL Survival it became a potential culprit, but you didn't tell about any other mods. You surely have dozens of other mods that deal with either DD or tattoos. But you cannot be sure unless you make a new game and reproduce it.

I know about the quest of the cursed collar and how to remove it. I mean, from dd 5.1 there is no padded or lock mechanism on the back of the collar when my PC wear it, and now on DD 5.2 when my PC wear it, it has locking mechanism or padded. So when in whip and chain inn when you touch the collar that said on dialogue box there is no locking mechanism and from the visualisation of the item when my pc wear and it has lock mechanism on it, it lost the meaning of "cursed", since the collar have padlock. So I need help if i want replace the item from previous mod to the new one, where i can find the file item and replace it. Or tutorial on outfitstudio or something else to remove the padlock, since the style the collar has better restrictive style on dd 5.2 than the previous dd 5.1.

It's easy.

Collar are in  ... Skyrim Special Edition\Data\meshes\devious\devices

collarPostureSteel_0.nif and collarPostureSteel_1.nif - just replace those with the same from previous version of mod.

But it will replace all of those types of collars not only for cursed loot.

Also if you use MO2, you need replace this file not in Skyrim folder, but in you DD 5.2 mod folder.

No, but that means only the one-time completeable quest chain. There are many breaks during the quest where fast travel is enabled again, and you can choose when to continue doing them again. You can also choose not do those quests at all if you wish.

I have a bug with the Queen Sarah's Collar. I have the key to remove the Queen Sarah's stuff, but when I remove the collar it always locks back on. If I unlock it and drop it immediately, I just get another copy of the collar locked on me. How can I remove the collar permanently?

Use console commands to remove both inventory and rendered collar, since every devious device is 2 items actually equipped on you. Losing only 1 of them will not get rid of it. It's very rare that such a bug happens but sometimes it does...

 

If you are curious, only reason the "rendered" collar doesn't show in inventory is because its name is empty. But the console command showinventory will see it, as well as the console UI mods.

I managed to remove it by removing both of those items. I made some further testing and for some reason this seems to happen with all collars. 

 

EDIT: Noticed that if I manipulate the lock and put a "normal" collar on, then when I remove it, it locks itself back on and the manipulation is gone. When I after this remove the collar by clicking it in the inventory, it works ok and is removed.

Do you have DD 5.1 or 5.2?

I have DD 5.2. I tested this with another character I have in my MO2 and there's no problem. It has a different set of mods so this might be a mod compatibility issue. Or I might have broken my game at some point. Anyway now that Veladarius is back with Captured Dreams I'll start a new game. I will return if this problem still occurs with that one.

Unless you create new animations yourself, there are no alternatives other than what is in the installer.

DCL, barely started playing, ran into a problem: MCM refuses to show me DCL's debug menu and to enable rape. Which breaks MCM window (all clicks on mod hub pages show nothing... again, sheesh...

Nothing interesting in logs. Like, at all. Except Rape Tattoos gagging on slavetats tattoos list in its own config - but it's a problem for another thread. And some stray leftovers not completely squelched by USSE Patch

Overrides are all appropriate - or so it looks. Few meshes overlap with KS Hairdo, few textures overlap with Devious Devices.

Absolutely everything else, including SLUTS Resume over which I banged my head for friggin YEAR from time to time, works perfectly.

 

I've did read about previous instances of this problem in this thread. Unless I've missed something spectacular, the only cures are 'uninstalling DCL' or 'never using debug & rape options', right?

Mildly infuriated. Because, from one side, I discovered this shit at the very end of tailoring all other plugin configs to my needs. Fortunately, on the other side, I did put 'Export config' buttons (where available) to good use so it'll be only an hour of wasted time total (assuming that everything would go well well with ASLAL). Maybe less.

The default assumes you start game in a quiet place, 99% of players get that with Alternate Start - Live Another Life mod. DCL also has an addon mod for that for a little start quest. Riding the cart is out of question and i have never heard of anyone using coc command or something at the start. Mods are going to initialize (and potentially fail) before you even open the console...

On the troubleshooting post. The bodyslides a bit out of date, but i am waiting on the DCL beta to redo them. Should still work, but you might not have the v2 sliders.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.

However, for some reason, literally everything else initializes successfully.

From Aroused Creatures to SlaveTats.

QuickStart3 SSE basically spawns you near exit of tutorial cave and lets mods do mod initializing business.

Even complicated and semi-tested stuff like Chain Beasts (which gave me my share of headaches back in LE days) works perfectly.

It doesn't feel right.

is there any way to choose only specific theme for devices? I mean, if there is any way to choose only (or mostly) ROPE themed devices, which will show up. (for example - there is plenty of devices with different materials, what I want is, that only ROPE Devices would occur. If that is even possible. Thank you for answer. By the way, great mod.

Thus i posted the Kimy's solution. DCL is known to not have MCM menu when you start game the normal way. It needs that specific "ritual" said in the link. Not even my game has DCL with MCM menu unless i do it. The Skyrim LE version is not quite as naggy with scripting and you don't have to actually create a new game twice with it.

 

Also Devious Devices - a hard dependency of DCL is DESIGNED to not even try to initialize unless you first save and then load game.

No, not that will work 100% of the time. You can set a preference for some things, but quests do not respect that and you'll get whatever the quest is set up with instead.

Excellent. I've filed a lot of absurd bug reports over the course of my voyages in IT - reporting, that S/m mod (DD/DDi/DDx) unexpectedly WORKS when it shouldn't, won't be the weirdest thing. I'll consider it after their apology for things which only remain in moderation team's logs currently, probably.

Still, I'm probably an anomaly anyway because, on top of other things, OSL Aroused works well for me, despite every Nick, Rick and Dick telling me that OSL is shite and won't work with most modern things.

 

On a second thought, maybe my setup is too slim to suffer from that initialization problem?

Any insight on at which modlist size / script mod count / MCM mod count the problems are starting happening?
