Modding Case Study: Grroott's Solitude (Part 10 - Finishing Touches)

Well, it's been a fun adventure but now we're almost done. Over the course of this series we've taken Groot's Solitude from a promising mod with some compatibility issues that was a little rough around the edges to a fully functional and integrated part of my modded game world. Today we'll cover the final steps to put the proverbial bow on top of this project.   Facegen   Dismemberment   A Final Texture Tweak   And with that, we've crossed all the 't

Lost Ark impressions

Yep gonna be giving my impressions on Lost Ark in this one. This is NOT review, while I have given reviews for MMOs in the past (namely FFXIV) it was mostly individual expansions rather than the game as a whole. But anyway this will be split in two; the good and the bad, I'll also have a shot of my Lost Ark character as well.   So the good, or the section of things I like. There's actually quite a bit I like. Most notable is the combat in it, I find the combat to be really enjoyab

Kitty Fox Pole Dances for a Wolf

I was pole dancing for Mason in Nuka World today for my audition, and my Porno Music playlist gave me "Birthday Cake" during the scene.  I thought it flowed really well so I edited out the game audio of the dog fight in the background and put the song directly in place.  Next time I'll try and stage the scene better, slow down the camera and turn off the UI   https://mega.nz/file/oEZ1wbwL#GgcYzpykxOcAyTTQ6RxEyiecGqzBmw35yWLa876EpD4   And of course the scene wouldn't be poss

Skyrim Modding Diary - 16 March 2022

Happy Wednesday everyone! After I wrapped up my diary for yesterday I took a quick tour through the Devious Lore locations and I was very pleased to find that none of them had any terrain intrusion. I'll need to rebuild the grass cache of course, but we'll be doing that anyway before I start my next adventure in about a week or so. Today we'll do some polishing on Devious Lore and then tackle some other mods that I have in my queue. Today will probably be a fairly short session as I have to do s

Entry 58: Vengeance Granted

Hello.  This is Damien.  I feel like it's been a week since I made a journal entry, so I'll sum up what I've been doing.     After the Thalmor war I found the secrets to chronomancy in Viranir's notes and found she was going to try and change history, so I cast her spell and ended up 200 years in the past.  I found I was thrust into the role of the Hero of Daggerfall.  After meeting Ocato (The Eternal Champion) and Uriel Septim VII, I went off to fix all of Illiac Bay's problems.  I be

Skyrim Modding Diary - 15 March 2022

Hi folks, hope you've been enjoying the case study series as it nears its conclusion. I was kind of dreading the navmesh work, but it turned out to be pretty minimal. Now we're just a few relatively simple steps away from the point when we can declare that mod fully integrated into my game world!   Today we're going to continue working through my backlog of mods to install. We're starting the day with 1,491 mods installed, 1,499 plugins active, and a final load order index of EA.

Modding Case Study: Grroott's Solitude (Part 9 - Navmesh)

Welcome back everyone, and thanks for your patience while I focused on a small side project for a little bit. The truth is, I had to take a break from this for a little bit because I was very frustrated about some lost work that happened (because of an error on my part) when I upgraded to the new version. Fortunately, second-to-last versions of both deleted mods were in my xEdit backup folder, which will help us get back on our feed pretty quickly. Let this be a lesson to all of you - save those

Entry 57: Reunited

Hey, Runa again.  We're taking a trip to Cyrodiil to get them on our side, and I'm also helping out Sigunn with Rigmor.  Last time Legate Tyroni Calleius, General Jura and I crossed the border, met up with Aventus, and talked with Sigunn, Malesam and Freathof.  We tracked down Rigmor in the Roxey Inn, a few miles south of Bruma.   She was with three men - Grom, a big Nord, Tiny, a small man, and Ser Robere. "A few more drinks and she'll be under the table, lights out.  War's over,

Skyrim Modding Diary - 14 March 2022

Hi folks, welcome back. After I posted my diary for yesterday I took a quick look through the remaining packages in Hydragorgon and it looks like the amount of work required to finish it up will be pretty limited. I'm going to try and knock that project out in its entirety today, then move on to start tackling Groot's navmeshes. If time (and motivation) permit, then I'll be back after that to start working through my installation backlog.     We'll be starting the day with 1

Skyrim Modding Diary - 13 March 2022

Welcome back, everyone! Since I never really got back to it yesterday, today I'll mostly be focusing on the Hydragorgon project.    We're starting out with 1,482 mods installed, 1,497 plugins active, and a final load order index of EB. Barring any unexpected surprises I'm expecting it to stay that we throughout this session.   So What's Left? Not counting a smattering of interior furniture scenes that didn't get caught when I grabbed the AI packages for the vignettes, we

Willow Creek Stories: Maximo's Recruitment

This the back story for Max Scarpetti’s recruitment.  It takes place before Chapter 16 of “The Simsfather”.   (Max getting off shift)   Boss: Hey!  Where do you think you’re going?  The grill still needs to be cleaned and the trash taken out!   Max: (Sighs)     (Punks throw trash on the ground carelessly)   Max: Hey - are you gonna pick that up?   Punk 1: (Scoffs) That’s what you are for, greaseball.   (punks laugh)

Skyrim SE/AE | New Build 2022 | 1000+ MODS

After I had to visit my Special Edition for a certain mod while I felt was working on my last mod review, I felt bad how outdated and undermodded it was. And so I spend a lot of time updating my SE/AE mods and looking for new and better ones to achieve absolute graphical superiority. Here you have the result. What do you think?

Skyrim Modding Diary - 12 March 2022

Hi everyone, hope you are having a good weekend so far! Over the last couple of days, a lot of interesting mods have dropped on the Nexus. Today is going to mostly just be a day for me to relax and take it easy, so I don't know if I'll get through all of them today - but we'll give it the old college try. I also need to keep working on the Hydragorgon project, but that might wait until later tonight in a "part 2" blog.    I'm starting the day with 1,471 mods installed, 1,491 plugins ac

Entry 56: My Unfair Lady

Hey, it’s me, Runa!  I volunteered to travel to Cyrodiil to figure out how I can get them on our side, while Fenrir went to Elswyer.  Oh yeah, we’re going to invade Alinor!   Mom gave me a letter from Sigunn of Bruma, asking for our help with Rigmor, an old friend of ours.  She also happens to be the Countess of Bruma, which is a good starting point for getting in with the new Emperor.  Anyway, I headed to Falkreath, meeting up with General Jura, Agrippina and Legate Calleius and sayin

Modding Case Study: Grroott's Solitude (Part 8 - Cleanup)

Before we move on to navmesh, we still have a few various items to clean up, mostly in the residential district of Solitude. Let's look at our punchlist and see what we still need to work.   Major Conflicts * Imperial Physician entrance * Books of Skyrim Town Square EA02BB62 - Hex Floor needs different texture 3800806B - ZDD static needs to move FE1DC863 - Shackles from "Public Executions" mod need to move 440089A2 - Unique sword "Justice" needs to be put on table EA02BAAA - Rotate C

Skyrim Modding Diary - 10 March 2022, Part 2

OK, folks, now that my little break is over, let's wrap up with today's Hydragorgon time.   First things first, we're going to transfer the Dragon Bridge records over to our patch file so we have a clean palette to work with for our next batch. With that done, we'll grab our next set of packages - this time for Rorikstead. One of the packages isn't actually used, so we'll skip that one, Package 2 uses a pole, Package 3 uses a cage, and Package 4 also uses a cage. We'll put them in simi
