Someone found a tool that converts custom skintones to work with tanning in another thread https://www.loverslab.com/topic/125231-tanlines-for-custom-skintones/

 

I'm tempted to go through all my sims that are supposed to be tanned (such as Linnie and Cara) and change their skintones, though thinking about it, it might be a bit of a hassle and at the moment I'm thinking I'll mostly use this feature for specific circumstances or for actually playing (not something I often do in any case), neat though.

@mrrakkonn Do you know if tanning is part of only Island Living, or the Base Game too (I don't know, that's why I'm asking)? If it's not part of the Base Game, it would probably make more sense to leave it anyway, at least in terms of for others to download.

It's an Island Living feature. I also agree with your second point.

Working on uploading a slightly updated version of Linnie and including her sister, Cara, who I featured in the last couple of screenshots, since I think I've now pretty much finished her. Working on putting together kind of a bio for her as I do that, and including some pictures along with that. 

 

Cara is (or used to be, not decided yet) a pornstar, so I figured I'd grab a couple of pictures of a first (or at least early) scene she was in.

Found a gorgeous hairstyle by Anto for Veronica and had to put together a proper formal outfit to go with it. I also love the dress, so cute, even though it looks out of place, or rather time in most scenarios.

 

Introducing Her Highness, Princess Veronica of Vestenstein. She's fond of diamonds and her grand piano. ??

On a slightly related topic, I also found a tattoo I'm considering for Veronica. Not the princess Veronica, the regular (yet classy) Veronica. What do you think, yay or nay? Maybe if I made it smaller... ?

@snowdog04 No problem! I really like that the hair can be used as an alternative for this one (shown below) on a single sim, because it basically differs only in the pony tail style (high, plain vs. side, braided).

@mrrakkonn Cara seems like a hard worker. ?

 

Thank you for the opinions on the tattoo. I've resized and moved it to the ankle area (it lost a bit of sharpness, but whatever). It has basically the same position and size as the base game dolphin tattoo. It looks good to me and I'll keep it on her. Here's the file, if anyone is interested:

I got my computer back this afternoon, apparently I had some damaged sectors in my hard drive, 

Not gonna pretend to know what that means but he's confident that he's fixed my issue, 

Just have to wait for little one in bed now before I get to test it ☺️

Thank you, I think so too! But then again, I might not be entirely unbiased. ??

Honestly though, I think that a lot of my sims are simply "carried" by their hairstyle when it comes to looks. And Anto's creations are my favourites when it comes to alpha hairstyles.

Yes! I been dying to get in game, spent a bit of time on Saints Row 4 with the ol xbox 360 to kill time this week and I'm looking forward playing a truly naughty game again ?

I disagree. Like with people, the hair has a lot to do with it, but IMO your sims' looks are mainly defined by their facial features. Again, it's just my opinion, but I do have some experience as I've played around with different hairstyles on your sims (including MM hairs).

Glad you got your computer back. Damaged sectors basically means part of the hard drive degraded and is no longer usable.

I see your point (and I don't disagree).

 

For me the hair is one of the key features of my sims. I tend to edit/imagine the facial features, outfits and personality a lot around the sim's primary hair style. For example, Lara's face now looks soo weird to me when using a hairstyle without the side bangs.

 

I feel the hair style also distinguishes my sims most from each other, because both their facial features and body types tend to gravitate towards a similar type of look, no matter what I do or which sim I use as the base. In fact, I get some low-key uncanny valley vibes when doing group photos of my sims due to their similarity (using the exactly same eyes in some cases does not help ?). This is also one of the reasons why I'd like to differentiate them some more at least by their choice of outfits in the future.

 

Anyway, if you've tried more hairstyles with the sims you can likely tell better than me if they are still recognizable, because I almost never tinker with their hairstyles. ?

@B10HAZARD. Will be good to be back in game! I've missed my girls a lot and having nothing to work on has been like having a limb missing!

My Mum is a diamond and wants to be supportive and helpful (she knows I have a project, just not what it is and senses not to ask lol) she asked me why I can't use my tablet ?

At first I thought it was a lazy move on the devs part when starting 4, boy was I wrong lol, although it's the same map it has a lot of new perspectives, 

I'd like to see GTA V get a super powered sequel one day!

If he remapped it, he used another part of the hard drive to replace the "dead" part, and told your computer to ignore it's existence. Technically, your hard drive is now smaller, but usually it's a minuscule difference.

I agree the hair styles the face the most. While I have tried many styles on each of your sims, I almost never change / add any. And yes, even in her formal wear, Lara looks strange without her ponytail.

Agreed, a hairstyle and a face have to work together.  There's a Maxis hairstyle, I think from Seasons, medium long with bangs.  It looks good in the thumbnail.  But I can't seem to pull it off on a sim!  They look incredibly bland.  I thought I was terrible at making attractive faces, until I tried a different hair on the same sim, and they looked completely different.  That hairstyle is simply unflattering for some reason.
