xwhiteninjax Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 never seen a loadorder, where life another live-mod was more or less within the top of the loadorder... I suggest to look for an update of your LOOT and do a proper loadorder... CTD with bandits suggests, that one of your bandit-mods is incompatible with some updates or you have not all dependencies of some mods installed... but first correct your loadorder, it is a real mess
KoolHndLuke Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 Yep. Like mentioned, you need to sort your load order to start. After that you need a merged patch and a bashed patch. Mod conflicts that need to be resolved. It will take some work to make that list of mods play nice. Skyrim is not forgiving.
Taven Posted March 31, 2018 Author Posted March 31, 2018 Sorry, but I -HATE- using LOOT. I will never use it again because I've had many problems with it in the past. One of the many problems is that it doesn't keep the load order the way I want it to, like keeping mods together that need to be. IN FACT, my load order is a result of using LOOT to sort it, and me trying to fix it myself..so yeah.. LOOT's out of the question for me.
KoolHndLuke Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 You have so much to learn. If you insist on sorting your own load order, how do you determine what goes where? Do you just try shit and hope for the best? You need to use TESVEdit at least to see conflicts between your mods!! I would also switch to mod organizer. Why ask for help if your not going to take advice from those who know?
xwhiteninjax Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 LOOT has many functions... if you don't use any, then it will depend on a masterlist (generated from thousands of user-installs) to solve about 90 percent of problems... and if you look at the right side of any mod in the right window, there is a function to "edit" the sortlist, too.... this will give you the way to "manually" override the masterlist, so you HAVE the possibility to put some mods at the place you want them... so I suggest to make a first sorting with the masterlist alone, start a game and see, if it works... after this change the sortorder step by step to your liking/preferences.... sorting by hand would be a good method to put categories into your mods, too... like first all .esm, than basic mods like FNIS, after this pure texture-mods, than locations-mods, after this race-mods, than quest-mods, after this armor-mods and at the very last end companion/followermods... but this is not a "strict" rule... some mods are to be placed at the top, some at the buttom (the mod-author gives a description or installhints not just for the fun on his page)... some mods have other masters, too (and masters have to be load before the ones depending on it)... hope, this will help for better understanding a working load-order

Stuff that I've told it to not move is moved at the top, there was even this one time the Heartfire.esm ended up in the middle of the load order..SOMEHOW. The one thing I like about it is that it doesn't immediately 'sort' the load order when the button is pressed, it kinda gives a preview.. That and it allows me to copy my load order to the clipboard...but that's all I like about it It's like LOOT has an aversion to doing what I want it to do..at least for me. So, no, I won't use LOOT, I will however use TES5Edit and see where that gets me.

You are on a long run with all the 172 plugins you have, maybe you should classify your mods in a more hierarchical way before, and get inspired by this order, which is just one suggestion among many: Spoiler Suggested Classic Load Order: #00: Skyrim Master Files USLEEP #01: Your ESM Files #02: DLC HighResTexturePacks UHRP Unofficial High Resolution Patch Optimised HD Vanilla Textures #03: SKSE, SKSE Plugin Preloader, Crash fixes #04: Bug-Fix type Mods #05: Game Structure and/or UI Mods #06: Character Appearance Mods (For NPCs and Self) #07: Mods that Add and/or Change Items Mods that Add and/or Change NPCs Mods that Add and/or Change Locations Mods that Add and/or Change Navmesh #08: Texture Mods. #09: Environmental Mods (things like Climates of Tamriel, Sounds of Skyrim, etc ...) #10: Mods with Gameplay Changes #11: Reproccers, AV, ASLAL and Bashed Patches
Grey Cloud Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Maybe the OP should look to his/her own habits and knowledge? Thousands of us use LOOT without any problems and have done for years. The OP doesn't use LOOT and has CTDs.
Fifoo Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 "It’s one thing to see the world through a lens, and another thing to act as if it’s the only lens that can exist." I don't even remember from where I read this quote the moment I began to take a shot at modding Skyrim some years ago, but just for saying ...
