So, does anyone know how to get around the Chinese verification codes when logging into 9damao to get HDT-SMP? I have 1.5.53 already, but I saw there's a new version out. However, I can't log in without the verification code and, well, it's Chinese so my average keyboard is no good.

Google chrome translates well enough for me to get it or you can got to the hdt-smp for sse page on LL where there are links if you look back a little

Try opening her head mesh in nifskope and check her Glossiness and Specular Strength under BSLightingShaderProperty. You can see the default values (for no glossiness) and where exactly to locate it here:

If this doesn't work, find out what body type she uses, and replace all her textures, head and body with ones of your choice, like Fair Skin Complexion or something. Also, something else to note, when converting meshes to SSE format, head meshes specifically need to be converted separately using the "Head parts only" option in Nif Optimizer

Thanks so much for the tip. I checked it and its the same as in your diagram. The good news is I really just wanted the body for the skeleton and the tattoos and I was able to successfully swap them to other followers. So partially successful.

I've been meaning to ask: how come the Marriable Serana mod hasn't been converted to SE? Wasn't it pretty popular? Unless the Oldrim version works?

Oldrim version is easily convertible. There are tutorials on it online. Someone posted it on the Nexus a couple weeks ago, but it's no longer there. Likely permission issues, but don't quote me on that.

Thank you for the feedback.

Since getting heavily modded Skyrim (Oldrim 32x) to play "decently stable" is quite a chore (last time I lost at least several days setting game), and new SE still doesn't support many mods (many of my must have) I am hopping to get a general idea, will SE ever or when will support all mods that were made for Oldrim.
Sorry for a noob question, but I would like to play again, so I try to figure my options.

That answer is mostly up to you (meaning, can and will you convert the mod for your own private use) and/or the mod authors (or those that take up support in their absence).  Not all mod authors own the SE version (those that didn't own the full LE version before SE came out didn't get it for free), and some may never.  Also, many quit or stopped maintaining things before SE came out, or don't want to mess with SE at all.  Check out the author's pages to see if they are going to convert, or contact the mod authors for more information.

Everyone is free to convert any mod for their own private use.  Check out the 1st post of this thread for guides on how to convert things yourself.  Except those with SKSE DLL's, you'll likely find most are reasonably straight-forward in converting.  Some may require scripts to be modified/recompiled to handle name/version changes of some elements, but most seem within reach.  Some people here may be willing to share small harder-to-convert elements privately (like compiled scripts or DLLs) if you ask in this thread.

Note to OP: Alternate Start - Live a Deviant Life Resurrection  is no longer accessible.

On other notes: Random Alternate Start has been ported to SSE and improved. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/8328

Skyrim Unbound also has but it has a number of weird issues that make the game not start

Skyrim Unbound works flawessly on my side. You must put it at last of your load order.

I'm using other mods which alter the player record so it's a no can do for my part.

Part of me wishes Tempered Skins for Males could work with the normal version of SoS. Those textures were great.

The two work together; delete TSfM's body meshes to avoid a dick seam gap.

Thank you for telling me about that, I just saw that Vyxenne posted a small guide about that, I'll go follow it to make it work. Thanks for the info, mate. I would have asked for help but I feel like I'm not very well-liked in here.

Mod itself seems to be perfectly compatible with SSE (no need to "convert" anything).

Maybe put the script sources where they belong for SSE (but that doesn't affect its function of course, only if yo uneed the sources for modding obviously).

I cannot yet confirm it is working 100%, but i played with it for few hours, and the mod seems to be working...

MCM works, the dialogue works, follower sometimes brings me devices and asks to put them on, and helped me out of those and out of devices put on by other mods.

I didn't notice any errors related to it, except the one described below, which is a minor bug in the mod, not something caused by using the mod in SSE:

The bug...

Spoiler

[01/26/2019 - 07:10:24PM] ERROR: Cannot add a None inventory event filter to this reference alias
stack:
    [alias Player on quest DDH01 (5D000D62)].ddhplayerscript.AddInventoryEventFilter() - "<native>" Line ?
    [alias Player on quest DDH01 (5D000D62)].ddhplayerscript.UpdateEventFilter() - "ddhPlayerScript.psc" Line 19
    [alias Player on quest DDH01 (5D000D62)].ddhplayerscript.OnPlayerLoadGame() - "ddhPlayerScript.psc" Line 29

At some point, the script tried calling AddInventoryEventFilter() while passing it uninitialized property (which is uninitialized on purpose) which results in the error.

Skyrim does not allow passing NONE to the function, that works only in Fallout 4.

For Skyrim, the same result can be achieved by passing it an EMPTY formlist - so, to fix this bug, the author needs to initialize the property to an EMPTY formlist.

This is not SSE related bug, you get the same in Oldrim.

Still, i did not play with the mod long enough time to be able to claim it 100% works, but i am inclined to believe so (well, except that little bug).

There's are threads for conversions. They take requests, too. Maybe someone there will do it.

Are the DD mods close to being pretty darn stable? I'd ask there but would get told to read every single page in the thread.

Their thread is only 36 pages. Last I knew DD SE was beta but in fairly reasonable shape, and DD-based mods are generally convertable like most other mods.
