Whether you're talking about money or not, there is a mod economy of sorts. The more people who can play this content, the more it tends to translate into a benefit for all players, as well as the author. Nobody's trying to employ the community to do anything. The community can do that on its own, as a natural function...and should probably avail themselves of that more often.

 

Free software does not, I repeat...does not exempt anyone from constructive criticism. Ever. Also, I think conflating "criticizing popular mod, respectfully with thought and structured arguments" with "public debate" denotes a poor interpretation. Again, constructive criticism is an important part of any development. It's one avenue for improving an unsatisfactory status quo. To summarize: the analogy isn't "You're poor, so you should be grateful for whatever food you get" it's "Hey, this is a cool thing, thanks for sharing it...and here's how I think it could be better, if you're willing to listen". I see to many folks look at the relationship between mod authors and mod users as the former, when it should be the latter. Mod authors should absolutely be respected, they are performing a service, and are kind enough to share it. It doesn't make the users automatic peasants who must swear fealty.

 

That said, I realize this is the SSE tracker, and while it's not the correct forum for this...I was originally replying to someone who had an honest critical view, one shared by many...a viewpoint often dismissed or waved away.

You are right. This is the wrong place for discussing this. And by the way: If you take a look at the DD threads you will find many ppl asking Kimy for adding further features to DD instead of making it lighter.

Take capture-type slavery mods for example. Do you really need fancy dresses, butt plugs and the like just to keep a captured wench from escaping? Hell you can always just extract some choice restraints like Sexy Bandit Captives does. It's more than sufficient to have a prisoner theme and won't forcefully saddle you with several mb of mod that pretty much does nothing else for yours.

If the mod is something like SD+, which has a HEAVY BDSM play emphasis, I could understand that, but if all you want to do is light bondage every now and then, Zaz is more than sufficient, saves a plugin in the load order, and saves a lot of compatibility issues and troubleshooting. I just wish modders would consider just how much emphasis they're gonna put on use of Devious Devices instead of arbitrarily assuming "it has restraints, so it'll need DD!" without even looking at lightweight alternatives. Zaz has a bunch of nice furniture that so far, all of TWO mods (I think) use. The rest go and get DD... often to use the exact same furniture and restraints Zaz offers without the added hassle of an extra download.

One problem is that ZAZ scripting has not evolved. TARA has added many items both furniture and clothing to ZAZ but no one has come out with scripting to support it in game. People keep saying it is in development but that has been for years now. The DD team and Cursed Loot have all developed as Sexlab, animations, and scripting have evolved but are resource intensive and the limits of both LE and SE engines have not kept up with hardware advancement. This I think is intentional on the part of Bethesda through forced obsolescence. I suspect if ZAZ is ever upgraded it will be as resource intensive as DD and Cursed loot eating up all the limited precious animation space that FNIS has to offer.

But what are you saying? Do you really think that DD and / or DCUR are "resource intensive" or perhaps "script intensive"? Do you have any idea what you are saying?

The simple fact that a mod has hundreds of elements in different shapes and colors, such as armbinders and yokes of different types and colors, does not make it an "intensive heavy resource." Thousands of mods have a thousand times more weapons and armors than DD and are not "resource intensive."
Similarly, having hundreds of scripts does not make the mod "Script Intensive heavy". Others mods have scripts a thousand times more and do not are "Script Intensive heavy".
Running a script every x seconds is not "Resouce Intensive heavy" or "Script Intensive heavy". Running a script every time an article is equipped or removed is not "Resouce Intensive heavy" or "Script Intensive heavy".

 

 

Stop thinking as we are in 2013. The game can works with DD + Zaz + SexLab + Creatures + SOS + Aroused + Cumshot + SLSO + Virgin + PSQ + SD + Slaverun + DCUR +++ all the modifications you want add without any problem. Is practicaly impossible reach the resource limit of the game. At least, I haven't achieved it in 8 years.

Stop thinking that the game can be overloaded simply by installing certain mods. It doesn't matter how big, complex or intensive the mod is. I can assure you that the game can support that mod and another 50 mods more like that.

 

You can have 1500 mods in Skyrim without any problem.
How can you think that one mod and only one can give the game problems?

 

Finally, let me tell you that the animation limit was extended to 26k in the latest version of FNIS and, a few months ago, Fnis Animation Limit Fix was published that totally and absolutely eliminates the game's animation limit.

 

 16691 animations for 87 mods successfully included (character).
ChAnims: 16691  CTD:123,5%  pOpt:26,0%  max: 13511  LC: 32319 (max. 26162)

 

The only limit we have now is the 500 or 750 animations in SEXLAB:

Check the post by Boulo_92 #1863 on page 75 of the DD-SE thread. He posted a fix to the CTD when playing struggle animations that might work for you.

i used NIF Optimizer

i think it fixed the freeze problem but now i CTD when i go near PAHE Slaves

there is still a bad nif or texture. Do the slaves wear something specific?

I noticed that zaz 8 has some name changes from Zaz7, and that could be the culprit. If you're using zaz8SE, try zaz7SE, to be sure load the mod into SSEEdit and check.

WB should work, I don't use it so I can't say for sure. ZAZ8 has several smaller mods incorporated to it, so it adds content. Name changes may be due to that. I'm not sure on that either. It's just something I've noticed.

DD is ruled out

ima try downloading ZAZ 7 if PAHE and it's addons like AYGAS or HSH aren't the culprit

Oh and I dont use DD. I enjoyed DCL, but it became a pain using it. I didnt like its prison thing, I did not like that it took 3 mods to use, 4 if you use the LAL addon.
My gripe with DD is that the rubber suits would not be immersive as they would have no such materiel in skyrim. It's also bloated with many colors of the same thing. The only bondage stuff that would be immersive to be those made out of metal, but not that pink bunny suit and the like. It also got tiring having to set the DD everytime it's used on a new game.  It's just more work for me than its worth, when I still think ZaZ is a better option
