I installed it, it planted a mine right behind me and went "learn more about this" while giggling. No other clues, I wandered about, nothing. Fine. I stick my finger in it, chailephants spawn, I one shot them cause I am level God. Quest didn't really move. Fine. Load, spawn chailephants, let them hit me. I get stamina'd, little boxes come and take my shit, we're all having a laugh and I end up tied to a pole after teleporting because the restraints is on the other side of a road indicator and I hit my face on the plaque. Cool, I guess, let me get my- Right, so, the beasts are aggroed, i can't go back. All my stuff is gone, I am not a God any more cause it was all in the enchantments, a la Samson, and after I give the elephants a run around I get back to my stuff and, well, no lockpicks. What is the way to do this? Run to a city, buy a sword, lose it to the metal monster, try again? At high levels you're supposed to have high gear. Which relies on enchantments and smithing. Which relies on smithing gear. Which relies on alchemy gear. Do I play Skyrim again? Anyway, I cheesed it by leaving a pair of boots and a crossbow that does 9000 damage aside, advanced the quest and now it goes "yeah find someone" and left. NPCs seem to be more worried about dragons, like I tell them how to tend cabbages, Karen. Do I get a clue? There are mines everywhere and they spawn a not-funny-tier amount of chains. I'm pretty sure this is game design for "not this way, idiot". Sooooo, what now. Quests wants me to kill the mines, but there is no other source of chains. Roaming chains are off by default and after 3 hours of dungeoning I found all of one mimic chest which is ... less than tough. Do I want to kill the mines? Nothing else spawns. I can't help but to think I'm missing something. Stamina attacking to bypass level seems cool, getting chained and stuff is also cool, but it feels like there's a part missing. Like once I am bound, I should be left with a lockpick and non aggroed so I can reset? Sneak in, get my stuff, try again? I saw 120 seconds in settings but being downed, animations, the road to the pole, the animations and stuff means beats are basically aggro the second I escape. How do you play this? ETA: I've managed to unstick the main quest by randomly scrolling down in my follower dialogue. Well happy to report that most of my issues have been fixed by doing a clean save procedure and upgrading to 0.9.4. Looking back, my issues were: Damage from beasts was too high for some reason. Has faders now. I suspect that the higher the level the more the variance in builds and thus they sometimes hit like a brick. I noticed the percentage based damage. 10/10 Number of beasts too high. This still happens. Even though I limited spawns from mines to max 5, they still like to spawn in big numbers. At level 96, they are supposed to be 9-10 (4-5 with setting), I counted almost 20. They tend to be way more than people, so they group in small packs and hound. 3 are enough to stunlock me in God mode. A single mine can clean up ANY settlement or base. Cities too. But the settings help. (I have not re-tested this extensively in 9.4, will feed back if it's still this bad) Quests got f***d. Starting fresh and pushing advance fixed it in 0.9.4, not so in 0.8. Now that I see what happens, no wonder I was stuck. Cleaning the mines did nothing. Advancing from cleaning did nothing. This time around, once that got done, dude with the letter spawned. I don't know what happened, all the quests got nuked in that. It seems to hum along, thank you. I still don't understand what the official way to recover is. By default, boxes are locked and the beasts strip everything, so no keys nor lockpicks. Yes I have protection, I can run back and grab my bag, but it's locked. Setting the boxes to unlocked seems to work for me. Was I supposed to run to a blacksmith? Small request. I would like the chain beasts to also have a setting where attacks are RNG based versus stamina damage. When set to RNG and it rolls under the setting, it just straight up captures you no matter what. I can't seem to balance the stamina damage and gear so I would like something that works through God mode with a configurable chance. If it listens to the stages and direct capture settings, even better. Sort of like a crit that ignores stamina. That way, you can both have high gear and the beasts would still be a threat. Especially in packs.

Jim55 Posted March 26, 2025 Posted March 26, 2025 1 hour ago, MTB said: Might be possible by playing with the conditions on the capture effects, a global to set the chance., will have to look at that ... . Cool. Spoiler > actually you said set to 5...then indeed should not be getting anywhere near that many beasts. Are they coming from one mine/trap/.... ? Go to Riverwood. Set up mine. Trigger. 6-7 yappers and a multi-legged one. I usually count 6-9 with a setting of 5. It DOES help. With a setting of 10 I used to get like 20. Hmm, Riverwood has mines. Maybe that's what's happening. Let me test in the wild. Brb. Limit set to 5, scaling 0.1/level, Level 96. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 beasts, one spider and an 8th that despawned when I chose debug release in MCM (it took my companion and was walking all the way to Narnia) So, 9/5? Feels right for my experience. Walk to camp NoName, cleared. Nothing around. Place ebony mine. Trigger myself. They all spawned at once. No interference. Spoiler >Kill beasts. We MUST be playing different games. Yes when I use my enchanted endgame crossbow and wearing my gear I go 9000 damage, and thus one shot them. Without my stuff (they do strip you on capture - nekkid, right) I punch for 8 damage probably. Attacking one in a swarm is basically instant recapture. If I use Meridia's gift or whatever that is called, a beast takes 8-10 swings. Yes it stamina heals me, but stunlock exists. It can't be buffed without a magical McGuffin I probably shouldn't have. Kill how? No weapons, no magic (they leave the gag on) and to recover my stuff I need a lockpick which is inside the box. Even if I find a steel sword, I can't do one handed. No, first, I need a lockpick and maybe a weapon. I am _nowhere_. And I am naked and unarmed. My chances of making it anywhere are slim. Also companionless. And possibly with some debuffs from other mods. There's 20 of them. We're not talking one fox. They spawn in swarms from mines and in the wild. This version seems to have toned down the swarms in the wild, but previous version, I used to run into 10-15 CBs. And for not swarm spawns, I am not knuckle fighting an elephant. > Loot their corpses to obain keys and lock picks to pick the locked boxes (if they fail to open - %unlock on touch setting). Awesome in theory. If I do manage to loot a key, somehow, it unlocks me and they all go "DINNER TIME" and reswarm me. I haven't checked the settings this version, but in previous version getting unlocked nuked your victim status. Or maybe it was set too low? I think 2 mins, but punishment was 2 mins, so, basically you were protected by being bound. > Talk to friends that have keys (like ones you've released - they likely have a key after recovering their gear). (Friends give keys setting.) There are no other people. Riverwood has 3 females. I think one is modded in. They spawned 15. Even with me and follower, it's 3:1 and 3:1 is enough to stunlock you with crits. Maybe with a "get up faster mod" ? But vanilla, 3 of them stunlock me in God Mode. The others are NPCs with a dagger. The fight is over in about 6 seconds, ending with 10 free beasts and 4 carrying passengers. All that is left is a few men, some of whom aggro but they went 3:1 and killed 1 beast before deaggroing. They are NPCs. My levelled and equipped companion one shots them. My stripped Companion using ice magic takes 2 minutes to kill one. Typically loses to one dog. > Blacksmiths maybe, (several related settings like friendly blacksmiths). An option in towns, not an option in Narnia. Wild beasts sometimes take the Orient Express to hook me onto a pole in a city. Last time I lost a matchup in a field, I cheated my items back and used a where command to find and nuke them and get my follower back. And they don't fast forward. This version's release cheat is reliable though. And even if freed by a blacksmith, I need my gear back and I am not a victim. > Guards maybe (daily chance if you've completed a specific quest.) Didn't get that far. Fun fact, in some towns all the guards are female (RNG?). Another fun fact, sometimes you have a bounty, in which case, you can't free them. And if you don't free them via dialogue they don't get their gear. MCM is an option then to return their gear, but still. Walk up to a poor naked and tied up woman and she goes "wait I know you". Madam, you are the most dedicated cop in Skyrim. If that were me being soulgemmed up my openings, I would let the chicken death slide. > Yet another quest gives an option. I'm sure later in the game you can free yourself and cast "melt everything", but I mean as a new user. I'm playing with unlocked boxes. Once I am free, I look for my main gear case, get my gear and walk off. Reequip and try again. Repeat until successful. Once dealt with, go in and loot and aid NPCs and companion. This being said, I am aware that playing with Quick Capture is probably not good for my sanity, but I sort want to also get captured, otherwise the beasts are just a new enemy for the grinder. Which is why I like the crit idea. I also have Devious Strike, which also bypasses God mode and a few other mods, keeping things interesting. Maybe that's where I got the idea of the beasts transferring gear via bite. Once enough gear is added, you succumb to the beast.

LOL Spoiler Yes, especially at higher levels, and/or with other mods, tweaking of settings will definitely be needed. Things like Sexlab survival or licenses and similar can make things extra challenging. With all licenses locked away, feels like those fish at the end of finding Nemo floating in bags on the ocean .... yeh free at last ... ` okay, now what ' ? Body search helps and hinders; you can hide some lock picks where the beasts won't find them...but you'll typically have and want to have a while bunch of them around, better hope the guard doesn't check at the wrong time/in that special place... Etc. Water is your friend....usually... Of course it helps if you manage to kill some BEFORE they take all your stuff. Then you can pick up some lock picks...maybe not the keys yet as, indeed, removing last restraint (if key strength set to 1, you could take one to remove the mask...or you could set the mask to not equip at all post release in MCM) nukes the victim status (the protection counter starts once you are released, but being freed ends the protection). Then you can use your approach, even if unlock on touch is set to less than 100%. Note max beasts setting counts only `extra beasts'; increase compared to number summoned at player level 1, a few more that than nr is to be expected, so lower further if needed. > Narnia That's through a closet, how did you end up in there? There's no closet mimics in the mod (yet) Yes some get-up-faster type mod is definitely recommended, no laying about with beasts around. Might still not be enough if you're surrounded though... >let the chicken death slide. Poultricide, a most heinous crime in Skyrim. All Skyrim denizens: " Not the CHICKEN! You killed a CHICKEN ! Chains it is. I'm late already. [camera switches to a meeting, everyone is exchanging glances wearing suits except for one person making discrete clanking sounds] This reminds me, mimics are never locked. Easy to spot. You can add locks scale them to lock difficulty and claim you were distracted by the lock or smth. Also, I think big chests aren't mimics. They may be silicone, but not mimics. hehe. I assume I'm not exactly news when I say more mimics would be better. That goddamn anvil almost made me jump. If the guy would have been less shady about it it would have been perfect. There are no "carry together" animations. Can't fool me. He should have asked for a lesson in smithing or smth. A few minor bugs and enhancements and all is well. One quest can be broken (see below) Advancing the "trap your friends" via MCM doesn't give me gold summons. I think it needs an "intended" escape and recovery route. A way to know where to go at all times. Maybe "go do a chore for a clue" type of help. Doing a chore tells you straight up. Maybe a recovery chore? Wash the floors while we go recover your stuff. Long bug report. I'm waiting for some people with some furniture. No it doesn't have chains. Spoiler Aspect of Mehrune Degon. I get a vague idea, but heck, let's check the walkie. Go find Madena or B boy the rapper or Legief the whatever. In Dawnstar. I'm bad at names. Okie dokie. Go to Dawnstar. Can't find Mephala, look everywhere. Walk around. Some shady boy with no voiced lines asks me to move an anvil. Chainbeasts! Cool! On track now. He says BBoy is to blame. Never speaks to me again. Man, Zanghief has let himself go. Betelegeuse is nowhere to be found, probably on location for the next film. Zanghief isn't talking. I go to wiki and find out Madena is at the court. Well, shift. Go there. "Oh please won't you destroy the mines" Easy. Kill mine, go back. "Oh you're my hero! Have a reward". Take reward. Leave. I had to lie to the poor woman Restoration is a real magic. Walk around. *Nothing*. Go back to Madena. "Oh that reminds me" (bitch) "the mine was probably ZBoy's doing". Couldn't you just- . Sigh. I was on stairs maybe she exited dialogue early. Find Zanghief. "Wasn't me". Great he's doing Shaggy impressions now. I'm itching for a wiki, but no, I will take this seriously. OK. I'm gonna go back and listen to her carefully. There has to be something there. Yada yada, all pawns. Mehrune is the focus. "Perhaps investigate his shrine or worshippers, if you seek to know more." The shrine of Mehrune. Oki Doki. So B and Z are distractions, I have to find the shrine and worshippers. Start wiki. Mount an expedition to give skyrim a colonoscopy. Nothing. Go back to walkthrough. Something about questlines. And something about my mother. I *may* be taking this personally. Contemplate the forum. Can't search for mine help in a thread about chain mines. That's it. Out come the big guns. SSEEDIT. I WILL get to the bottom of this. I see, Zanghief has a rivalry with Betelegeuse. aaaaaawwww. Moderna has nothing to do with this. To be fair, this would have been easier if BB the rapper was anywhere, I would have talked to them. Can't wait to be rapped "it wasn't me" by BBoy. Ok, find B. Wiki. "Beitlid is in the mine". No she isn't. Read up on quest lines. oh. Oh no. Beitilid is dead. LONG dead. Canonically. She is a target of the Brotherhood. It's been YEARS. __I am NOT doing this again.__ PRID 0001A6B6 MOVETO player *screams from the crowd as a body materializes* *swift prayer cross* RESURRECT *the crowd screams again, this time, because a wave of chain beasts have risen from the soil to puppeteer the meat I lifted from the dead onto a pole for display* I NEED the tome. Jim55 Posted March 28, 2025 Posted March 28, 2025 Hide contents > Well, I'm pretty sure that by `help' he meant "do it for me while I `supervise'". Maybe he asks you to test the quality of the ore by forging him something on his new forge what he just bought. He will buy anything you forge at twice the price just so he could learn to use it right, and if you do him a nice sword with ebony inserts he might throw in some old book he thinks is valuable. Maybe he wants to show off how much better quicksilver is than iron so if you forge him a nice sword he plans to add an enchantment on it that steals gear from the people it hits, but he's gonna pretend like all quicksilver swords he sells do that, but only if wielded by the worthy. You get the cool sword and be the influencer and he pockets the money. Maybe he struck a deal with some deity and he bragged that his words are good enough to have two enchantments but he can't smith so if you forge him a high quality sword you can keep it. Something like all elemental damage in the same swing. You know, build up hope before being dashed. > Right, send the roomba to get the stuff, but can't have dirty floors because of it so you have to clean the carpet, seems fair. > Like how the blacksmith may aid with restraints if you `polish his sword'. It's not called logicslab.com. We're here for a reason. Which is, Nexus is a little female dog. I am partial to "choose your nuisance" type of puzzle. It feels like freedom and it really saves on story and setups. Irkalla's escape room thing has a hintmaster that will give you a fairly decent hint, but the price is locking one more thing on. Basically, be sent one step back for a hint on the next step forward. Sometimes it's worth it, sometimes it's not. Having an easier step before a harder one means you can choose to go back and pay for progress with a little tedium. It's your mod, obviously. But the lore master could easily exchange cleaning up a mine full of things for a hint. possibly by being intentionally vague at first. And by hint, I mean a real hint. (points at SCB-UserGuide068) A real hint! Like an arrow. I'm mostly joking, most of the stuff I found obscure were mostly bugs. Or me being an idiot. I had the most trouble with Nocturnal, mostly because I forgot Ragged Flaggon has 2 rooms. A hardship for an arrow would have helped. > That's why (well one of the reasons) I included the alternate track with Madena. Unfortunately, that track is not finished yet...hardly started really. Ah, unfinished content. I never know when that is the case. The changelog is yuge. --------------- So, it's official. I have essentially done all the content (I assume TJH is not finished, I recovered all books and the loremaster is playing dumb). I have a few miniquests left, but that's the lot. Loads of fun. Probably more so from a new game as I had loads of bugs on this one. One last question. the character and some of not all NPCs do a "walking" animation when captured. Any idea why? Conflict? In the older mod, they barely tried to do an animation, and they clipped halfway in and walked. I assumed FNIS was having a stroke. Now I installed for OAR and I noticed they actually have "get in" animations and they even squish into position to be carried. As soon as they start to move, the character does a walk animation. It occurs to me that there's settings for crawling, but it occurs to me it's not about the speed, they are supposed to crawl, literally. I just assumed they walked being forced by the chains. ^ This. They do this with spiders and elephants. And finally-finally, there's a bunch of typos and minor things. "it's" and "loose" are used incorrectly 2-3 times. MCM has 1e, 3e and 2nd. French? the hint for "chain banish" is "resurrect a dead beast". There are two "Conjure Chain Beast" spells. Oh wait, one summons gold as per finished quest. Amending the previous bug report, they DO summon gold, I was casting a remnant iron level spell. May I suggest you put Chain in all spells so filters work or even add [CB] at the start. There are a lot of spells and for most all you get is a 1 second notification. A lot of them are Chain starting powers, but Statue, Destatue, Place Marker, Teleport to Marker, etc are spread around. I like the purple beast variation. Do you plan on adding other colors? That's it, basically. I now learned to leg it like a coward and get on a rooftop when they spawn. I am missing on fun though, i can't wait for crits.

(and me.) I was gonna take some time with this, but here's why I thought thus far. Spoiler * Regular beast, new type: Dragonfly. A mix between a butterfly and a scorpion, it acts like a reskin of the chain flying beast, until it wins and you enter surrender. Once it finds itself in a winning position, it descends on the victim, mounting it as if to give it wings (extra points for a lift up in the air anime animation) after which it uses its dragonfly tail like a scorpion would and plant it. It then shudders and dies, allowing the victim to do a land (anime this to your liking) or plonk like meat. What it has mechanically done is: it equips a vaginal, anal plug (or oral/gag, optionally, depending on already used orifices) that breaks off, remaining in the host. This plug is magical, has no key and is not removable (DD lockable vibrating plug? Just visual?). What it does is it hums and releases phermones, using a combination of horny and mind control to drive the victim to do things. As time passes, every time interval (dunno, minute? 30 sec?) , the stinger loses power, slowly returning control to the victim. First, ability to take temporary control over their direction, like in beasts, followed by no longer being irresistibly attracted and attractive to nearby people (radius shrinking), followed by the ability to equip clothes, then a weapon, then magic and lastly powers and more exotic stuff. Would be fun to suspend things like buffs and blessings, if not too difficult and breaking. I have no idea how hard this is to implement. The core idea would be a self sacrificing beast that is not as dangerous as the others, but rather more insidious. Instead of removing your gear, it unequips all and refuses to let you wear anything. You so do not have to unequip anything or have any keys. A more boring variation is that it wraps around your neck and stays there. Possible variation: the stinger does nothing, but is instead "armed". Once armed, it has a 50% chance to detonate if you have been in a town for over 10 seconds. So you have people to play with. It rerolls every minute you are around people. Possible implementation is single spawns, in the wild, with fast speed, a hard to hit glass canon. It stays on the ground, if it detects the player it flies and it dives the player, rolling for a chance to apply a down on attack. If rolls success, implanted. Spoiler New color: Green. Possible single beast instead of color. A new race of chain beasts, green, have their own backstory. Pad to your liking. A mad artist takes up magic attempting to create ultimate art and it ends up bringing stuff to life he didn't want to. These beasts work like regular beasts, as in spawn and chase and capture you. Once captured, the box remains at your feet, no transporting, except the iron suit now twists and turns into grotesque shapes, taking you with it. And by grotesque I mean vaguely artistic and definitely hot. These would require adding or reskinning some of the furniture to be chain based and feel free to animate any of it for flavor. But it doesn't have to be functioning, it's basically a pose with a gear put on top. The statue of chain and flesh forms where you were captured (with mild variation to make you accessible). The punishment duration is linked to how many items you had at the time. Something something greed of the author. Optionally, there is a chance that a very devious art lover recognizes you as a piece of arcane work of the mad wizard Mordoch the Horny or whatever and decides you are valuable. If this happens, you are teleported to a small room where someone bids silently and you are then transported, randomly, into one of the approved homes of collectors that admires the work. Every few seconds (more or less), he gets an itch to touch the sculpture, then RNG determines if he does or not "no, I shouldn't" vs "I MUST". Once touched, the spell breaks he panics, you lose your vision and you are back out, tossed before you wake up fully and you so something dumb. Your stuff is near you, in a box. They don't want any trouble. Small variation to caged. Way less complicated mechanically. Spoiler New mimic: Damsel. Sometimes appearing in the wild, but it's definitely taking a liking to you and mines. It looks like a hot NPCs that has been chained up (looks like an NPC that has been CB'd and left to wander). As you walk up to it and you say "let me get you out of those", it responds with an ungodly sound and exits dialogue, wrapping you in chains. You have no time to react. They are known to hover around towns where mines went off, sometimes mimicking already existing NPC look, sometimes new, attractive girls (or whatever people do with this). Sometimes that don't even enter dialogue. As you interact with them, they play an animation that spawns a mine, activate it, and spawn into a gold/ornewcolor spider. It has no other special stats, it's just a gold spider, it's there just so you can take revenge on it. There are rumors that damsel mimics can even copy furniture along with their human, appearing as caged slaves or prisoners in various camps, waiting for a hero to release them. And take their place. I could have AI'd better images but Bings suspects I am up to something. Which I am. Well played, bing. Edited March 29, 2025 by Jim55 I hit ctrl+enter by mistake.

Gunslicer is load order 147 and and SCB is 266 267 with the 094 patch. Priority of different OAR replacement animation options is set within OAR, so in its console or the json files, the load order has no influence no esps are use nor files replaced for these animations.

OK I just ignored the Shift+o thing because it has a font size of 5 and I have a 4k screen. But with a magnifying glass I managed to call up OAR and it claims to have never heard of this "SCB" and it only knows of The Trappings of fate and Gunslinger. I did a reinstall of the mod for OAR and it shows up now and the animations (mostly) work. (they crawl but get up to turn when they run into something, possible internal "run" on obstacle). It is slowly coming back to me. I switched to OAR and then switched back to FNIS because I got softlocked. I was chest mimicked, the chest mounted me and then tried to reach a pole. Problem was, there was no path to a pole, or at least a very difficult one. I was on a lake shore, and there was a camp of tents. Point is, as I was being "carried" and the chest couldn't path, I was teleported through and the chest wasn't. We got separated, the chest was still trying to hop the tent, I was on the other side of the tent, stuck in animation without a chest (or the mimic) and that was it. I had to reload. The bug didn't happen with FNIS. I did some tests. Skyrim crashed when attempting a dialogue with someone in an animation Skyrim crashed when attempting to ride a revived spider. It played the "fell down" animation, then got up, then got cocooned, then ... nothing. Attempting to move moved the spider and my companion started running in a different direction, following a "me" that I clearly also controlled. Then immediately crashed. Yeah, I'm going back to FNIS.

I've not seen this; I mean Skyrim crashing sure, all the time, but specifically these no. With OAR the animation will go to `crawl' until you've mounted the beast, if that is what you mean with `fell down'. Shrug. > I've not seen this; I mean Skyrim crashing sure, all the time, but specifically these no. Actually, Skyrim is rock solid for me at load order 300. I think I had 1 crash in 100 hours (before this) so 2 in 10 mins immediately sent me packing. > With OAR the animation will go to `crawl' until you've mounted the beast, if that is what you mean with `fell down'. No, I mean it played "fell down" animation. The one that plays when you get stunned or "stumbled in heels" in DD. Hmmm. Hmmmmmmm. I'll look into this. > Was sure you were going to suggest Eco-friendly chain beasts, drain only half as much energy ... LED, EU-compatible, class AAA mythical beasts. Needs an app for no reason. > Just checked the quest, there's indeed a quest marker attached to the objective. Haven't tested in game, but it should be there. Wouldn't be the first quest that's stuck. Maybe it was an older version. Or maybe it's time I start a new game. I've basically hot added, hot welded and did surgery on all these mods while it was ticking. I should be fun, having something to do again. Recrafting my stuff, not so much. I've seen some mods that let you warp items over. This is gonna be anime as f*ck.
Jim55 Posted April 8, 2025 Posted April 8, 2025 Spoiler Shhhhhhh. Be vewy vewy qwiet. I'm huntin' pwawyes.
Jim55 Posted April 10, 2025 Posted April 10, 2025 OK so I started again with a new character. Stuck. And gave up. Where █████ is the Weaken Mine spell? I have spent 2 days looking for it and the last time I just had it. P.S. Some things didn't update right when I upgraded the last mod. There's fish now? And sacks? Cool.

Spoiler Try out the mine destruction spell. Discuss the result with the person that gave you that spell. Then you should know where to go... If not or you want to skip that part: Spoiler just directly go talk to Tolfdir. (Still need to have tried the destruction spell first though.)

Hard to read, gangbanged by spiders. And one handed. > Discuss the result with the person that gave you that spell. Then you should know where to go... She has no such dialogue. All she did was to ask me to do the book quest. I remember doing it last time so I did. On the bright side, I have lightning storm. On the other, nothing for this quest. I checked walkthrough and > Tolfdir He is in introductory to Winterhold mode. I played along. He immediately skipped to the giant orb quest (we should do something practical > ward > go ward in Saarthal). He's still down there and the archmage tasked me with the mystery. I am deep (diggity) into Sijic order. Still he has no dialogue. I shall persist. At least I know where to go. Tomorrow. Sidenote, how do you insert lines after making the entire body a spoiler? I think you can end a quote by CR+CR, but spoilers are sticky. I end up marking spoilers at the end, but am I missing something? Edited April 10, 2025 by Jim55

After that this should be available: Spoiler Quest objective to talk to spell giver (optional) with target marker. Conversation option `your spell did not work' for quest giver. Conversation option `trying to weaken unstable mine' for basically anyone, some give useful directions. One in particular will give you what you need. Spoiler As soon as someone mentions alteration -> Quest objective talk to Tolfdir with target marker, he will give spell in response to the trying to weaken topic.
Jim55 Posted April 11, 2025 Posted April 11, 2025 OH FFS. I'm sorry, I'm an idiot. Skyrim crashed because I left it running and it leaked and when loading I must have reverted. Quest stage clued me in. And reading back, 19 hours ago, Jim55 said: I did, they spewed out, something about weakening it first They don't spew out when you cast destroy. It just says it did nothing. It spews out when you damage it, meaning if you cast after weaken. I have clearly played this twice once with weaken and destroy and didn't realize it. Walked around, wondering where my weaken went, when in fact I was reverted to before casting. It only occurred to me after looking up quest stage. I've been bad. (opens Skyrim)
Jim55 Posted April 11, 2025 Posted April 11, 2025 Spoiler So, turns out, there's book mimics now. [Whistles] Good joke, man. Keep the fingers, you've earned them.
Mathrue Posted April 15, 2025 Posted April 15, 2025 Not sure if this is of interest to anyone, but while watching an anime called Aparida the other day, it seems like I found chain beast's cousin "Chain Man". Couldn't help but fantasize as I watched this. 1-min clip: https://streamable.com/17bbvg (backup link after the streamable one expires in 2 days: https://gofile.io/d/WAGsin)
