Alrighty. I'll revert the changes then. Kinda choosing between a straw doll and a Matryoshka there, lol.

I got Mira taken care of. Was a lot easier than I expected. Got kinda sidetracked by a sidequest with Dawn's portrait sprite, but I'm gonna see if I can get the original sprite sheet for reference before I go any further with that. Kinda got myself into a stalemate anyway. I'll shoot you a DM for that. Fixed her hair, though. Dunno how I missed that for so long.

New toy unlocked: Skin highlights. Just get a dropper of white from their eyes, and now I have a third layer of shading for a bit more depth, and less dead space with a flat color.



EDIT: The Team Galactic girls and the female Snowpoint ace have compression artifacts for some reason...should I fix that? I might come across one or two others as well.

So it turns out the version of the sheet that I've been using this whole time has been compression-fucked from the very start, and the compression-fuckening happened literally directly before I started working on it. Because of course it did!

We've figured out the issue, with me frantically making a fool out of myself the whole time, naturally. But I have a whole fuckton of things I'm going to have to do again, and it's probably going to take a couple of days.

That's assuming I can bring myself to do it all over again.

Introducing... Nude Platinum Version 7-0-9!

This version features minor edits to existing sprites. Now, Dawn's backsprites look a lot better.

Also, the DP biking sprites have been added to the sheet.

I also fixed a palette error with Dawn's VS face.

What do you mean "Barry isn't supposed to be nude?" In a perfect version of this mod, everyone would be nude.

The thing is that nobody has taken up editing his front sprites or his intro sprite yet. He may get edits in the future, if someone wants to make them. It's the same deal with Lucas. I don't control what sprites are made at what time.

So, genuine question; if Barry isn't supposed to be nude, why are his back sprite and overworld sprite nude? I feel like at that point you might as well just go all the way and nude his battle and intro sprites.

I was pointing out that I was confused since Barry's back and overworld sprites are nude but his others aren't (because no one got around to doing them) and that color coding kind of implying that the clothed sprites were fine as is or didn't need editing, it made me think he wasn't supposed to be nude. I was also saying that it feels kind of half baked, because if you're going to edit some of a character's sprites you might as well go all in and do all of that character's sprites.

 

I'm not gonna offer help i cant give, because; A. I have no real experience editing sprites.

B. I don't have any sprite editing software.

C. I don't really have the motivation to do it myself.

 

So I just try to offer feedback instead.

Alright, I slept on it and came up with a strategy to get it done efficiently. So here you go, the Definitive Unfuckening.

Multiple sprites were very much still fuckened in the last update. So I grabbed the vanilla sprites and unfuckened those. Just implement this whole damn thing and everything will be squared away. Every last thing, top to bottom, from the window to the wall, has been fixed. No editing my post, no addendums, this is done. (EDIT: Ah fuck, I missed Mira's backpack. I thought it was dithering since the pattern was consistent, so I didn't check. So much for me being cocky.)

Behold the Grand Unified Unfuckening.







As for what I actually did since then:

I added some skin highlights to most of the female sprites. I didn't do anything with the girls who seem like they wouldn't have a shiny complexion, like the old ladies, Aroma Lady, and Gardenia.

I adjusted and fixed a few errors, both from others and myself, on multiple sprites. Don't remember which ones.

--One of them was the Scientist, which I didn't even realize until now is a completely original sprite. It's already dithered to hell and back, but it looks great at actual size. Massive kudos to whoever made that sprite. All I did was move her left nipple and make her breasts the same size. Clearly the artist knows much more than me about color theory with sprites, they just made a small oopsie in the lines.

Made the Reporter pair and the Ace Trainer pair have the same sprites as the solo versions. I just chose the one that looked better.

Touched up Cheryl. One of her shoulders, a couple miscolored pixels here and there.

Tweaked Cynthia's VS portrait. Mainly the lighting.

Fixed both perspectives of Mira and added straps to her backpack. Wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. The front sprite just needed an adjustment to her right leg. Now she is as smol as she's supposed to be.



Next I will work on Caitlin and then I'll start on the other VS portraits. Mainly Dahlia, Dawn, and Candice. Dawn is going to be a bit of a challenge. It is better than it was before the first time I touched it, but I am still not happy with it.

I did that as a way to let multiple versions of the sprite exist since multiple people have worked on this and I didn't want their work to go to waste. I also did this with the ranch girl.

There are already several nude mods for the gen 3 games, so I went through and picked out a few that I thought could be adjusted to work here and replace the male sprites. (This was before Lucas and Barry got nude sprites)

Only the bug catcher and scientist ended up getting added, but I did have a few more. (Guitarist and Clown would have had to have their palettes edited)

Do you think I should add the rest of them in, or just a few?

 

Heads up: it will take me a while to add these in because there are a lot of sprites that have been edited.

I finally found the icons for the Gym leaders that show up on the trainer card.

They are at graphic / trainer_case / trainer_case_30.RGCN and its palette is trainer_case_13.RGCN.pal.

Should we edit Candice and Fantima, or is it just not worth the trouble?

I've searched far and wide and asked various modders and the general consensus is that none exists and that it isn't easy to mod that game, so nothing has happened on that front. I still hold out for the day someone gives it a go but for now we go hungry.

Wait, there are mods for the Let's Go games? I had no idea. What are they?

Have you seen my collection of mods and hacks on page 15? There are a lot more out there than one might think.

I feel like the majority is in either Gen 3 or in Sword and Shield. There's also a big RPGmaker scene, but I don't know much about that.

It's the Let's Go games. Only one lewd mod I've found, which funnily enough is to lewdify Green. Here you go.

I don't even remember where I got it. The date on it says June, and the browser history on this PC only goes back to October, which means I was on a different PC back then. The boot drive in that one died screaming, so that information is gone.
