Like NPCs would think that Lucas/Dawn is being naked to mimic that one nudist who saved Hisui and even comment on how his/her face strongly resembles Rei/Akari from old vintage photos. Perhaps Lucas/Dawn is made to be nude to fulfil a prophecy related to that legend as if they're the same person.

On a more serious note, thank you so, so much. I was thinking of doing a version of Nude Platinum for Diamond and Pearl eventually, anyway, as seen by a few of Dawn's sprites on the progress page. It shouldn't be too hard for me to change most of the overworld DP sprites to the Pt sprites since the only remaining non-nude part is the head, which I could probably switch for Lucas's Pt head. The battle sprites will probably need edits done by someone with more experience, though.

I'll have to figure out how to operate the text editor for the intro better to add another line to add your name in or just rewrite a part. (can you add new lines to the intro, or just change existing ones?)

 

Edit: Lucas's backsprites seem to be a few pixels bigger than the ones you prepared, as seen by the below image. However, I have noticed that once these sprites are fixed, Lucas's hat is the exact same in both sets of backsprites, which makes my job easier. Lucas's intro sprites also need edits because in DP, he is walking, while in Pt, he is running. One more thing: Lucas still needs a VS. Face.

With DS Pokémon Rom Editor, you can just pad out an existing string by using these functions:

\r = Make new message.
\n = Line break, only to be used after the first line of dialogue.
\f = Line break that scrolls text, to be used after the second line and so on until the next new message.

I only just learned this because editing Lucas' sprites made me want to start progress on a nudity reaction mod for D/P/P.

 

I think I know what scenario I should go with for why the player is naked in Sinnoh.

Let's just say that Akari (or Rei) being kept nude in Hisui has altered the timeline in the present.

Now, you can finally play as a boy! (Bear in mind that battle sprites and intro sprites for Platinum Lucas have not been created yet.)

 

Below are the overworld sprite sheets for Lucas and Dawn. Brown means that the sprites need no more edits and Blue means that the sprites still need edits done, in my opinion.

I appreciate the efforts made for these mods, but may I suggest making 2 separate patches, 1 with male nudes and 1 with only female nudes? I personally don't want to see male nudes, heck if you have time and motivated enough, perhaps you could replace almost all male sprites with female ones like in nude emerald?

I suppose I can do that once Nude Platinum has been completed in my eyes, if you can remind me. It would be too hard to have two separate development cycles right now. Having to make one patch with men and one patch without men for every update gets complicated fast since I have to apply each change twice. Plus, having the male nudes in there makes the hack feel more complete. There are only four male characters with edited sprites in this version, anyway.

 

Also, on your second idea, I'm not really the one who makes the sprites. I just collect and add them. By the way, which Emerald are you referring to? There are three of them and also a Ruby hack. I have a list of them way back on page 15.

Pokémon Emerald Nude Version, Pokémon Emerald X, Emerald Naturist Edition, and Pokémon Pigment Ruby are the gen 3 hoenn hacks with changed sprites that I am aware of.

If one wanted to change the appearance of the male trainer class to a female one, it would be better to use the HGSS character scripts, which are also gen 4, rather than the gen 3 ones.
Since the size of sprite is different between Gen 3 and Gen 4, it will not look right if ported as is.

I just found out that Spriter's Resource does not seem to have the sprites for the ending, in which the player character rides their bike. So, I took the liberty of extracting them from the ROM for your editing pleasure.

Unzipping it requires a password but I was able to find it. The password is "DoNotSharePublicly"

It might look like only a few sprites are edited but as they say in those comments it's been updated and there's a lot more.

According to my notes (which I just found):

Pigment Ruby creates entirely new sprites for trainers, based on other characters like Princess Daisy, Hatsune Miku, and Nurse Joy.

Naturist Emerald changes not just the women, but the men and children too. It also adds a custom day/night cycle.

Emerald Nude Version changes the sprites of just female trainers and the sprites as well as the sprites for 11 Pokémon.

Emerald X changes the female sprites and changes some male sprites to female trainers, such as the Kindler.

Also, I cannot seem to access the file in that link. It says, "You need access. Request access, or switch to an account with access."

The nude edit spritesheet for Lucas has been updated:

Lucas' back in the overworld is now the same width as the front, some sprites have been readjusted, and his back sprites during battles have been extended for Platinum.

PEv1.1.rarHere is the zip file for it, I have yet to play Emerald X, but the sprite sample from the webpage did indicate its from Emerald X, not sure if its just that or was derived from it with that posters edits.

My dialogue edits are usually meant for the player to be the only one naked.

If almost every other character is nude, then the edit wouldn't make much sense because the player being nude themself wouldn't be that big of a deal.

This can't be used on 3DS hardware, if that's what you're asking. It's made specifically for the ability to swap textures on the fly using an emulator, real hardware can't do that.

The files from that post are Luma LayeredFS compatible, so they work with real hardware

I guess what I want is more specifically a "nudist" Pokemon game/romhack. An idea that's been bouncing around in my head is the idea of an entire region being nudist, with the villain team being outsiders (making them the only ones clothed) so while the locals might not care about the nudity, the villain team does react to it. To be honest, I just want a Pokemon rom hack or fan game that has nudism be widespread within the region, because I haven't found something that scratches that itch yet. Glitchyreal was working on a Pokemon emerald romhack like that, but that's been put on the back burner for a couple of reasons (one of which being not wanting to get in trouble with Nintendo, which i can understand).

Not really, though I'd argue for Mars and Jupiter to get the nude overworld treatment, personally.

 

Disclaimer: I don't see myself as a font of wisdom or anything, I just said I think Caitlin's sprite is not on par with the rest. I don't have the experience or means to do these myself (nor the drive to do so, honestly).

 

I feel like im better contributing to projects like this or fan games by just bringing up interesting ideas I have at the time that fit with the overall theme, as far as I could grasp of said theme at least. I am content simply helping with brainstorming (and maybe advocate for a hack or fangame that gives the option to be nudist if I can be transparent).
