Male Bosses- Are they Better?

Please note that this is NOT a political discussion. This is a discussion of whether men make better bosses in the work place in peoples opinion.

Now, in everyone's opinion are male bosses generally better in some regards to their female counterparts in various work places? Are they more understanding of employee's needs? Is it easier to negotiate a deal with them? Are they more fair and impartial in any given disputes? Do they seem more genuinely interested in the welfare of the business as opposed to their own personal gain? Would you feel more comfortable and confident of a raise for your hard work with a male boss? Are they tougher or more relaxed about company policies? Do you think they work harder or smarter than a woman does at the same job? Do you think men are better bosses in just some regards, in all, in none? What do you think? And please try to be respectful of others comments. :)

Why is it sexist or stupid? Am I degrading either men or women by asking this?

change the "she" to a "he"

If you still can't see I don't even want to waste time to "debate" this with you.

In my personal experience, the bosses genitals have no bearing on how they choose to run their business or office. None whatsoever.

Okay, so a non-issue for you. I have only had 2 female bosses in my experience and I thought both of them did a wonderful job in most respects compared to the men they replaced. The only thing that bothered me about one of them is that she let to much shit slide in the work place- things that involved safety standards. Generally I think female bosses are more understanding of employee needs and such. Raises were easier to get also.

There. Happy?

The fact that you can so easily change the whole premise of your question goes to show all you wanted was a big debate of...

"Hurrr women ar best!"

"Deerp no men r best!"

unless you have a study that actually claims to prove one gender is better than the other in a leadership position then you might have some semblance of a ground to speak on. But you don't.

It's more about sharing personal experience. Not throwing up graphs or charts or studies or whatever. If you don't want to participate- then don't.

This is why I don't like statistics. Too many generalizations. The moment society realizes women are making better bosses than men. Then men will rise to the challenge to become better bosses.

Exactly. Most men in the work place get raises and position through a "buddy" system in the work place. I have not seen many women work this way or at least not to the same degree as men. They don't care who you know or are buddies with. They mostly care whether you are competent in your job or not.

What about them being women made them more understanding? Were they more understanding BECAUSE they were women, or were they more understanding AND they happened to be women? Do you know the difference between causation and correlation?

Before you answer those questions, here's a couple more; what are the potential negative outcomes of making assumptions about entire genders based on a few anecdotes? Why do you want to try to get people to make generalizations about genders based on a few anecdotes? Do you understand why people might want to avoid making those generalizations?

Judging by gender, religion, race or any other massively general grouping is so ridiculously silly that it boggles the mind it is still done.

This thread can't go anywhere but deeper in the gutter.

Thread Locked.  Please keep this kind of nonsense on sites that cater to crap like this.
