If you are able to select the race then the issue should not be the main files.  Crashing when selecting the female is likely an issue with the body meshes or skeleton.

You created a CBBE or UUNP body for the Elin using the bodyslide preset?

Did you also install the mod that allows them to use BS-generated bodies?  That would be, "  SSE_OPTION_TeraElinBody_CBBE-UNP_v3_9-20170131.7z".

Did you create a BBP or TBBP body?  HDT does not work with SSE.

Uninstall all Elin files except the main files.  They will use the default body which is neither CBBE nor UNP and does not use HDT/BBP/TBBP.  If the crashing stopped then the issue is with the bodyslide Elin body.

If that is the case, install the above mentioned mod that allows them to use a CBBE/UUNP replacer then create regular (ie, NO BBP, TBBP, or HDT) body meshes with the BS presets.

The Elins use their own XPMSE skeleton so a separate installation of XPMSE is not required and only needed for such features as weapon styles (I'll have to update the associated Elin files to make them compatible with the latest XPMSE styles).

So I tried just using the main file and my game still does the same thing where I can select the race but when I change the body to female it crashes and I also tried installing the cbbe-unp option mod as well but that didn't work either. When I open up bodyslide the Elin body doesn't even show up even though I downloaded the cbbe body and had the bodyslide file.

Try this one.

SSE_TeraElinRace_MAIN_v1-1.7z

Fixed the meshes (SSE optimized from scratch).

Found and replaced the HDT mouse ears with non-HDT.

Loose files instead of BSA (RaceCompatibility still uses BSA).

Removed original Elin voice plugin; you will have to install one of the voice updates.

Still includes the 1st-person camera fix; it's safe to remove if that is your choice.

Uninstall version 1.0 of the main files before installing version 1.1 to avoid conficts.

As for Bodyslide, install the SSE bodyslide, install SSE CBBE (includes the data/shape files for bodyslide), then install the Elin presets.  The SSE bodyslide does not include the data files.

Big rip this file doesn't even let me look at the race anymore without crashing my game so that's worse. Is there any requirements that I need for this mod cause there's no way that this mod can be giving me this much trouble. Either I'm missing something or NMM is unpacking this mod the wrong way but I've tried everything I can think of to get this to work. My Skyrim is about to an hero from how many times it's crashed these past few days lol.

There are no requirements for the main files.  I would think the problem is NMM (or are you using Vortex) as some NMM users over the years have had issues installing the files.  I use MO so I can't provide any solutions for NMM.

If the problem is not NMM then the only other possible cause is memory.

Right now, I can only think of 2 tests you can try to pinpoint the problem.

Test #1 - Install ONLY the main Elin files, no other mods, and start a new game.

This is to check that the game can start and run with the Elin files installed.

If able to select the race and customize a (female) Elin then the main files were installed correctly.

Test #2 - Install the main Elin files along with your current mods then compare the files in the Data folder with what is in the main Elin mod archive.

If NMM is incorrectly installing the main files, making a comparison will reveal what files are missing.

works like a charm! gah dammit Elins are cute as hell... great companions, thanks for your work! I just wish more own voices

You are welcome.  If there are any updates for the voices it will be in the form of fixes.  A reworking of the voices is highly likely for the remake of the race which will use all ported assets.

My hand just become like this, any idea why this happen and how to solve it?

The hand mesh is different than the body mesh thus causing a gap at the wrist.  It would help if you provide some information.

What body are you using?

What outfit are you using?

Did this just happen?

Does it always happen?

Happens only in 1st-person?  Just now?  Always?

Two common causes are:

  1. Changing body mesh without changing the hand meshes to one that was made for that body.
  2. Equipping an outfit that changes the body without changing the hands.

Hi, really great works!

I found the 1 hand weapon + shield run forward animation has double tap footstep sounds.

Maybe there're issues in the hkx file?

Sorry for late reply, i've been dealing with a CTD lately

my body is using mixed body type from a chinese site, so i can't really tell which body type is it.

i can't remember the outfit im using and i can't check since i still stuck in that ctd

this also happens when im in the character creation menu and seems like when im not using a melee weapon(only tested with steel sword and mace)
sometimes the third person also, and yes my hand always stay like this.

So you got the Elin PCEA animations working with SSE FNIS?

If not then I can only think of the following...

If it's the vanilla animations then it's a game glitch or another mod is adding the additional footstep sounds.

If it's an animation replacer from another mod then the author of that mod would be the one to ask.

Currently I don't have the SSE Elin mods installed.  I was using my old Win7 desktop but, it was showing it's age so I had to move my files to my somewhat newer laptop.  I don't have the files installed even though I have the old saves.  Doesn't really matter as I did not progress that far and likely will start over.

If you're not sure about the body then that could be the reason for the wrist gap that is, if the files from the chinese site did not include hand meshes.

Replace the body with one from the Elin CBBE/UNP replacer pack and see if that fixed it.  If it does then the problem is the body you got from the other site.

If it's armor related then try one that is meant for the body type you installed from the Elin body replacer.

Thank you for replying. I copied the khx files to work in pcea2. It just works. Could you tell me the author's name and where can I contact him?

So what happens when a vampire tries to bite  someone of this race and what happens when this race becomes a vampire and tries to bite someone?   Do they grow for the height difference, is it not possible to bite, or does the animation play but just looks weird?

If you are referring to the Castanic animations that the Elins are using in PCEA then the author(s) are BlueHole Studios, the developers of Tera.

Due to their small size any vampire feeding animations would not align correctly.  Elins would not change size because there are no Race2Scale markers for vampire feeding anims.  Maybe if the victim is sleeping and there are Race2Scale markers for the beds but, I'm not sure, I never played as a vampire only became a Vampire Lord to see if the transformations worked with little or no problems.

Also, Vampire Lord (as well as Werewolf) transformation would be normal, humanoid size.

No thanks. I'm not a fool. I obviously mean the animation replacer mod author you mentioned

I solve it myself by deleting text keys in converted animation xml.

You lacked the specifics in your questions.  Which animation replacer mod author did I mentioned when answering your request?  From the statement that was included with your question, there were only 2 possible answers, the author of the Elin animations and the author of PCEA2.  Now, the author of PCEA2 is well-known (Fores), you downloaded the mod so you had to know who the author was.  That leaves the question of who is the author of the animations.  Since these are the Castanic animations ripped from Tera then the logical answer to the question would be, BluHole Studios, I even tried to form my answer so as to show that I was not sure which files/mods you were inquiring about.

Now, there leaves the question of who converted the animations for Skyrim.  That I do not know because I downloaded the files from Nexus around the time it was uploaded but, the files were soon, very soon, taken down, obviously because they were ripped from Tera, so I do not know who did the conversions.

This is why you need to go into specifics and provide relevant information when asking questions.

I'm not good at English. Sorry no more questions.

I've done it myself

Just getting around to working with this mod.  I can see why some people had problems installing it.  If you just stick to main files it is pretty easy but the number of optional might be confusing people.  You'll have somewhere around 17 plugins if you want everything.

Anyway there were some problems.  Nearly all of the plugins are in form 43 and most of the meshes are not optimized for SSE.   I'm not sure if it is a problem in game but some heads had wayward points? I don't know what they are called but in my niff viewer it looked like a piece of the head was pulling out of the head.    I haven't check to see if optimizing the meshes fixed it yet.

Since neither plugins nor the meshes have been converted I'm assuming the animations haven't been converted but I could be wrong.  The new animations are probably ok but I'll go through them all to make sure.

To continue with animations the animation pack is setup for PCEA but that has been replaced with PCEA 2.   I'm guessing anyone that uses PCEA 2 knows how to deal with this.  If not one of the videos on the description page for PCEA 2 shows you how to add animations.

I could merge everything but, that would mean various people, for various reasons, wanting versions without files x, y, and z.  This entails creating and uploading different types of merged files which, of course, will also confuse people who do not know which custom merged file to install.  It's a case of, 'damned if I do, damned if I don't' or maybe, 'damned if I do this, damned if I do that'.

The files worked in my game, even the animations (up to when FNIS was updated to the last or next to last version).  PCEA 2 is for playable character only, I'm aiming for custom race only which is why I implemented PCEA.  I can redo the animations so that is uses PCEA 2 but, I would get comments wanting the animations to work on the other Elins.  I can provide both however, that would add to the confusion.

I have not checked again since I had to install SSE on my laptop because my old desktop was not having any of that anymore.

Right now I'm transitioning to a new job so when that is done, I'll have a look at the what you are claiming.
