I went ahead and updated the For Him and Beast Race Refits plugins so they're (semi) up to date with the beta, however I haven't made any new meshes for the straitjacket variants or the new panel gag just yet.

 

For Him:
-Added the names of people who've worked on For Him in the past to the plugin author header.
-Carried over changes to allow catsuit and bondage mitten colors to work properly in first person.
-Carried over changes to rope colors in the inventory.
-Reforwarded all keywords on all armor records.
-Sorted masters on the plugin.

 

BRRF:

Just out of curiosity, why aren't DDfM and DRRF just rolled right into DDI? Is there some benefit to keeping them separate?

Backwards-compatibility, for once. Some existing mods certainly rely on these ESP's, and would break if they'd merge into another one. Same reason why DDI and DDX, and DDA are still separate, despite I could easily merge them.

 

Also, as long as these components are separate, @Skullered can still maintain and work on them without having to coordinate with me all the time.

  3. Visual delay/reset/transitions. In this scene this visual last much longer than others. Enough that you see more than a setup and entry animation, but actually the 2nd animation play like it was committed to following through. # of seconds varies. Thus since it is not a bug and cannot be fixed, I would need to opt out of the filter for this scene, or maybe give the user the choice in the SLaV MCM

This is interesting actually. Texture Sets didn't seem to work with 1stPerson models in earlier versions of DD. This is why you have Black, Red, and White "1stPerson" versions of the Restrictive Gloves. I remembered this when I was working on 1stPerson Catsuit stuff and just created separate models. But I just did some testing and TextureSets appear to be working correctly now with 1stPerson models.

It's a known engine bug - fixed in SSE Engine Fixes, not sure if there's any mod that fixes it for LE. For whatever reason, female first-person meshes cannot use alternate texture sets.

MCM Debug Tab Tests

Problem Report

  1. Fix Broken Devices - Tried with no known broken device. It removes most of my devices (render only), leaving the inventory. Basically doing the opposite. Breaking them instead of fixing.
  2. Terminate DD Quests - Does not run. I don't see the normal 2nd message box, nor the "Done-exit menu". Actually the "Done exit Menu" is mis-placed in the MCM, going on top of an option above

Log16.txt... loaded game, did #1 first. reloaded game, did #2

 

 

Creature Love Test

Did just 2 tries so its minimal testing but worthwhile to report. First try no yoke. 2nd try with a yoke. No breaking of FreeCam. Yoke was hidden. All good. Will keep a watch on this and try multi actor eventually

The compressed file come with the Animation Load JSON file to ease test and the "zadBeltedAnims.psc" with the changes to be compiled.

 

On the "zadBeltedAnims.psc" I take the liberty of also add the "Standing" tag to the DDBeltedSolo Animation because SexLab use it to detect the Animations not allowed on Bed's if the filter is enabled but probably be useless on DD

 

Sorry for any inconveniences because I made my test using the "SexLab Tools" and don't take the time to check the files

I now have this working perfectly, and it does indeed give me the option to get the loving done without the DD Filter intercepting, in case I need to use this option for some of my scenes. There is further testing to be done on how this impacts DD's gag voice and device hiding.

 

@Kimy I do hope to use the DD Filter in fitting scenes, if  "Stuck and Stacked" problems can be solved. Shall determine which scenes, once the Filter is considered complete by you. The determination would be based on the degree of impact the "Visual Glitch" impacts a scene.

Hm. As I understand it, it works like this: first, blocked slots are determined, then, if bound animation is needed, it is searched for using those blocked slots. I just don't see how SuppressTags are used in this case. As I see it, they are used only if not using bound animations, in SL call.

This line of code in SelectValidDDAnimations() combines the flags and the additional tags given in the suppresstag string:

It's the same function the actual filter is using.

Great that it's working for you now. I will try to look at the additional reports you sent me and see if I can get these visual glitches under control. I am not too optimistic, because the filter doesn't seem to do much at all in the case of stacking. If the log shows the "No sex-act-restricted actors present" line, it means that the filter literally only looked at the scene's Controller and terminated when finding out that the scene is valid. I wonder why the glitch even happens in this try, because the two next tries show the EXACT same parameters (permitX etc) in the log, including the "No sex-act-restricted actors present" line - and worked. Do you have a chance to test the same faulty scene without the filter, just to confirm or reject that DD is even the problem here?

 

But from your reports I gather that nothing outright breaks anymore, so at least the show-stoppers are gone, so that's one release-obstacle out of the way! I will need to look at the MCM stuff now...

Yes the pattern emerging is that it maybe happens when DD intervenes less lol. Almost like Sexlab has somehow been triggered to wait for something to happen. But I can't find any way to identify the cause, or a clear entry in the log that says it has happened.

Well I currently have my functions, now used by all scenes, with a flag to either "use DD" or not. This will make it easy to, at a scene level, tailor, and in my MCM, give the user some choices too. Maybe even hook into choices you supply one day (wishfully thinking) instead of the SetForcedAnimations hack.

 

For selecting animations, "use DD" means use libs.SelectValidDDAnimations. Otherwise it uses SexLab.GetAnimationsByTags

For getting the love going, "use DD" means the normal sexlab Thread.SetAnimations is in play, otherwise Thread.SetForcedAnimations

 

I have a hotkey that lets me toggle between 2 states:

  • First state is use SelectValidDDAnimations / SetAnimations  - state that fully uses DD as intended
  • Second is GetAnimationsByTags /SetForcedAnimations  - state that does not fully use DD features. Uses the default sexlab filter, and uses a forced thread to try and bypass the DD intervention. We still get gagged voice which is good, and not sure what can happen with device hiding

I can, and have, tried the combo of SelectValidDDAnimations / SetForcedAnimations, but I'm having trouble getting my head around if it makes sense to do that, and when. Finally there is the 4th combo of GetAnimationsByTags / SetAnimations, that is actually the default state that mods use if they have done nothing (most older ones out there right now). Its the state that is the behavior most older mods tested against, and expect. That state is not getting tested anymore by me (we should keep in mind) because I have no use case for it, but was originally producing the worst results. I might test this combo too, but will not be able to say its been well tested.

 

IMPORTANT: Also, I'm not yet convinced that SetForcedAnimations, always, and fully, does the job of stopping a DD intervention, because of what I see in the log, and witnessed in a scene. Seems that DD will still be trying to do stuff, having no idea that I'm off on another thread. Or am I seeing a sexlab bug where we end up on the same thread? More testing to do. If there are stuck and/or stacked cases that are Sexlab being stressed by interrupts from DD, then is this a full solution when its not fully preventing that stress? Just a bunch of theories I have no idea yet and maybe never will, but I'm testing! This is kinda fun.

 

To get to your question, YES I can (and already am) testing flipping between those 2 states with my hotkey and can give you some reports. But do you trust it as a valid test in the first place? The other option is where you provide the toggle. Maybe a temporary revival of the MCM toggle, so I can test with what you deem "filter off", and I'd only use my SelectValidDDAnimations / SetAnimations state for any results shared.

No, not true. Stacked and Stuck are frequent. They are both showstoppers. Stuck = break. Stacked = very severe visual mess.

  • I could live with Stuck 1 out of 50. Like lets say, the same frequency that Sexlab on its own will experience because this is freaking skyrim. Note that Stuck was 4 out of 8 on the Love Shout problem report
  • I could live with Stacked slightly more frequent. 

But these are both far too frequent, and I believe consistent, with a pattern, where you can recreate.

Just to clarify, in the tests above when you wrote "Player stuck, animation played", what happens is actual breakage, not just a (serious) visual issue? So the animation does NOT terminate and the player can NOT resume movement?

I can confirm the 1stPerson TextureSets are working in LE. The testing environment was clean of any mod files before I re-installed SexLab and Devious Devices and the absolute bare minimum mods required to test. Also the only the .dll files that I had in SKSE/Plugins folder came with the installs of SexLab, Aroused and Devious Devices, there are no "bug-fix" SKSE plugins installed.


If you want to play it safe then stick with the separate 1stPerson models. In which case you'll also want separate 1stPerson models for paw mittens. I'll provide these and a .esp for merging.

If you decide otherwise at least still check out the .esp and merge the two Armor entries at least. It simply fixes a couple of the ground objects for paw mittens that weren't using the correct types.

Any time I've written Stuck:

  • Entry animation plays forever, does not progress to next stage on its own. Player (if its the player stuck) cannot use controls. Will stay like this forever unless you hit spacebar (advance hotkey) enough times to end the scene. Spacebar will complete each stage, then controls are back and and animation end event does happen.
  • If its not the player stuck the NPC will be stuck permanently. Spacebar does not fix that. Its usually the player. You must reload a save to get that NPC back to normal

Any time I've written Stacked:

  • The actors are ALL in their setup start position, standing in exactly same place, almost hiding each other if all female etc. No animation plays, but behind scenes the stages advance, you can tell by the orgasm stage being reached. Then after the scene invisibly completes, it does end on its own.

Misaligned:

  • This appears to be rare-ish right now. I have seen it maybe 1 out of 30 in the last week. I expect to see it more with Love Shout which has not been the focus of the tests yet, since Love Shout is the biggest challenge DD and Sexlab. Is a worst case variation of Stuck. Usually it happens only if there is first a DD delay and then new animation setup (the visual glitch scenario). The players transition to 2 groups of animations (DD split them up), but they don't align AND proceed in the Stuck state, humping the air and what-not. There can be many stuck actors, but usually not all

This is why they are all showstoppers:

Once a users knows the spacebar helps, the user experience in all cases are to them the same. It did not work, they are not seeing a scene. Its very broken to the user. The user is going to use spacebar in all case, because they are not going to wait for the scene, they want out. They go looking for the MCM option. They are all very clearly show stoppers unless rare.

Problem Report:

  1. In each relevant case DD still Intercepted when using SetForcedAnimations. I've pretty much verified this is consistently happening from other tests in another scene too. I don't know if it creates a difference though, but somehow the "visual glitch" when transitioning is actually very smooth and quick, which is why I at first thought that I was getting what was expected (you barely notice). But now my path forward is cloudy.  @osmelmc in case you are interested or can help
  2. All the other tests had the Stacked problem. Hope that helps confirm things. I know its not 100%

Problem Report (for above)

  1. Message Box Error (screen attached). This left NPCs (not player) in perma Stuck state. 
  2. Yoke not hidden
  3. Very long delay before transition visual, reached orgasm stage before transition. SLaV uses a mod event where the orgasm harms players with sounds, visual effects, and the harm of NPC HP. For this to fire off, before a new animation plays, adds to the scene problems which became stuck later
  4. Player Stuck (3 cases)
  5. Stacked (1 case)
  6. DD still intercepting. Same comments as last report. Also 2 new things learned here... 1) Filter OFF must make some difference, as things are still better with no stacked and stuck seen so far  (except in the case of message box). 2) The message box error case is a show stopper and making my path forward more cloudy. To have a path forward, I need "still intercepting" to go away, or some other solution. Should be no chance of interrupt if the filter is not engaged

 

EDIT: Think I will hold off giving any more logs/reports, unless I see a new type of error, or you ask for me to retry something, or you have a release. Also because I have no way to fully turn the filter off, and its unlikely the Love Shout will ever be a fit for the feature, as I think this report is showing, I hope you might start thinking about a solution to turn off the filter at the event level.

@VirginMarie About the Log17

 

I check the logs corresponding to the "[Virgin] Start Love bypassing DD Filter" and for I see even if DD still check the devices and try to select the right tagged Animations at the end don't seems to modify the Animation list you defined. So all seams to go as expected. Of course I can't be 100% sure because the original SexLab Logs are not clear enough.

 

 

 

 

 

Edited: My mistake I see now the "[Zad]: Overriding Animations" on the logs. 

 

I check all the script again and the news are not good @Kimy since you have not way to know if the currently running Animation is forced or not because SexLab don't have function or property for that at less you somehow allow temporary bypass the filters, part of the @VirginMarie Mod is Doom.

 

Since DD use the SetForcedAnimatios to set the new Animations and can't detect if the function was called before. Use the SetForcedAnimations is pointless to bypass the filter at less DD use SetAnimations instead. Of course use the SetAnimations function in the DD also require call the Thread Event "LeadInEnd" in case LeadIn animation be running.

Also the only the .dll files that I had in SKSE/Plugins folder came with the installs of SexLab, Aroused and Devious Devices, there are no "bug-fix" SKSE plugins installed.

Maybe I'm getting issues mixed up, but in 2013 there was a report of it, with the workaround being to delete the first-person meshes so it had to use the third-person ones. There's also several reports about the CK not saving them, and a mod to work around it.

Since DD use the SetForcedAnimatios to set the new Animations and can't detect if the function was called before. Use the SetForcedAnimations is pointless to bypass the filter at less DD use SetAnimations instead. Of course use the SetAnimations function in the DD also require call the Thread Event "LeadInEnd" in case LeadIn animation be running.

Its interesting that SetForcedAnimations has made a difference. You can see where I wrote about that above, for logs 18 and 19. Its clear that DD still intercepts, but I've not had any Stacked or Stuck problem yet, when using it, and the Delay and restart of animations is faster. It's like Sexlab is more stable somehow.

 

The good news is I'm setup now to easily plug in a call to DD, that triggers something, that helps me. Otherwise I don't think I have a known path forward. A DD feature be needed :)

 

 

 

EDIT:  @KimyAbove, and previously, I've said I've not had any Stacked or Stuck problem yet, when using SetForcedAnimations. I just had one case of Stacked now. Only 2 actors, its the 3rd (last) try in Log20.txt, in case it helps.

It's the same function the actual filter is using.

It seems I repeateadly fail to express my thought.... Let's rephrase it: SuppressTags are used by SexLab to determine animation. But bound animations aren't registered in SexLab, and are selected within the framework. This selector, as far as I understand it, doesn't use SuppressTags, it only uses blocked slots. So, for example, setting SuppressTags="Oral", having bound actors and not having gags can select oral animations still.

The only difference between the two functions is that besides SetForcedAnimatios have priority also bypass all the SexLab internal Filters and that reduce the delay.

 

I'm not sure what you mean with stuck problem but SexLab have a lot of problems and many of them related with Actors don't being animated, usually for being stuck on previous Idles so report SexLab Stuck issues to Kimy is pointless.
