Both 'Race Compatibility Improved' and 'RaceCompatibility patch for Dawnguard' are to fix werewolf/vampire transformations. And they are same author.

http://blog.himika.com/2012/10/racial-compatibility-improved-v11.html

http://blog.himika.com/2012/09/racial-compatibility-v01-dawnguard.html

The diffirence is that Race Compatibility Improved works regardless of Dawnguard being loaded or not.

If it did not works properly, the most probable cause is that it has not been installed correctly.

As I mentioned earlier, there is no need to separate packages because Race Compatibility Improved works regardless of Dawnguard being loaded or not.

I understand now. I looked at the custom Dawnguard patch with TESVsnip and it's by Himika. I'll make the corrections and redo the packages. I have replaced the Elin master file with the Skyrim 1.8 version and installed all of the non-updated add-ons and so far I have not experienced any problems in my game. Even Lydia has returned to normal. I'll be redoing the packs and leaving out the Dawnguard-compatible files and the custom Dawnguard patch. It would appear that I tried to fix what was not broken to begin with.

Thank you for your advice.

I would love to see a new elin-x117!

Once I finally straightened out the update for the Elins' date=' I'll get started on the Elin-x117 and Elin child. Both will be using the latest x117 body.

Out of curiosity, is the neck seam issue seen with Elin NPCs normal? For example, Lydia has a very noticeable neck seam.

She does have a slight neck seam, the head textures does not perfectly blend with her body, but it should not be obvious unless viewing her up close. How bad are the neck seams? Is it similar to the screenshots or worse?

Very noticeable to me:

I have never experienced that before and your Lydia is wearing the default armor. I do not understand why this is happening.

Have you tried moving ElinNPC.esp after the custom body ESP or giving her armor for the custom body you are using. Maybe giving her CBBE or UNP armor will fix the weight issue and close the seam.

Damn, I also notice her name is not translated. I thought I fixed that. No matter, the next, and hopefully, final complete update will fix this.

EDIT: There is a possibility that another mod is causing this.

hmm any reason why it's giving me CompanionsHouseKeepingScript.pex error with

Racial Compatibility 1.5 inc in the full package?

This is possibly the conflict between RaceCompatibility Improved 1.5 and RaceCompatibility patch Dawnguard.

Delete this file:

1) RaceCompatibility_patch_Dawnguard.esp

Then go to DATA > SCRIPTS, and delete this file:

1) DLC1VampireTurnScript.pex

Then go to DATA > SCRIPTS > SOURCE and delete the RaceCompatibility_patch_Dawnguard folder.

Now install the Race Compatibility Improved v1.5 with Elin Scripts and allow any files to be overwritten.

The seam is fixed if I use setnpcweight (any weight fixes it).

Not all NPC replacements have seam issue though. For example, Uthgerd the Unbroken does not have this problem. This includes having no armor on -- Lydia with nothing on her still has seam problem, while Uthgerd does not.

Beats me why this is the case. I guess I'll start disabling other mods to see what may be messing with npc weights on these. (the Elin NPC is at bottom of the load order).

In addition, delete these file:

- CompanionsHouseKeepingScript.pex

- PlayerVampireQuestScript.pex

- PlayerWerewolfChangeScript.pex

If you have installed vampire mods, You might want to re-install them. For example: Better Vampires, Vampiric Thirst and Vampirism Inverter.

So far, using Race Compatibility Improved without these files...

- Race Compatibility patch Dawnguard

- CompanionsHouseKeepingScript.pex

- PlayerVampireQuestScript.pex

- PlayerWerewolfChangeScript.pex

...has no negative effect on my game. Lydia, when dismissed, will go through the usual scripted events in Breezehome and the werewolf transformation works without any problem.

In fact, it also fixed the Summon Elin Ring v2 with the summoned Elin's transformation.

I will be uploading the "improved" packages later today and they will be for Skyrim v1.8 and earlier. I'm running Dawnguard and Hearthfires and have not run into any problems yet, so I will be keeping it this way for some time.

Finished Update #3. I made a few changes the major one being there are no Dawnguard-updates. I'm running the Elin files updated only to Skyrim v1.8 and so far no problems.

@Mima

Thank you, but some2chguy deserves all the credit.

@Lonelywolf1

The new voice packs also contains sample WAV files. That should help you pick something better. Btw, the latest main pack does not contain any voice files.

Hum, if the fix helm patch is default, is there a way to disable it? Namely I altered the race of one of my older saves and one of my alchemy hats is a hide helm, which would be hidden by this patch.

Arguably I could just cheat up and create a new set of armor and work around this issue, in which I could probably just double enchant alchemy smithing and also get around this other problem of having to change shirts between the two.

But anyway, freaking awesome work.

Oh, I also ran into this bit where trying to change my argonian's race via player.setrace gave me an elin body with an argonian head. I was trying to avoid having the game reset my player stats that using showracemenu would do if you touched the race choice. Any way to avoid this issue?

Alternativly, there a mod out there that can modify player's health/magicka/stam numbers?

I feel like that might have been already answered elsewhere, and I will probably get around to looking for it, but at 90 pages, that's a lot to go through.

Hello AsteriskCGY

Other than deactivating 'ElinRace - HelmFix.esp' you can delete these 2 files:

1) ElinRace - HelmFix.esp

2) ElinRace - HelmFix.bsa

An Argonian Elin, that is different. If you need to use SHOWRACEMENU to change race then follow up with these console commands:

Advancing Perks - Console Command

addperk (perk ID) = gives you the selected perk. To get perk ID type = HELP (PERKNAME) 0

-------------------------------------------------

Advance Skills - Console Command

incPCS (skillname)

Increases the given skill to the next level

(example: incPCS destruction = increases destruction skill by 1)

NOTE: uses the skill name and not it's ID

Alternative

------------

AdvSkill

advances the experience of a skill, but does not award a skill level.

A faster way to build the experience points to reach the next skill level.

------------------------------------

Restore Attributes

RestoreActorValue health

RestoreActorValue magicka

RestoreActorValue stamina

or

player.forceav health

player.forceav magicka

player.forceav stamina

------------------------------------

I remember seeing something at the Nexus that was suppose to prevent your attributes/stats/perks from resetting when change race with SHOWRACEMENU, but that was awhile ago and never was interested in it.

Thanks for the response. I'll have to try the forceav command then, since this is the only real issue I had.

Also apparently I can't just .setrace without the head acting funny. I'm guessing because the npc mod did a flat replace for each of the npc's files. The link on the first page is broken so not sure where to find that mod.

Oh and where do you go to choose your player voice?

I was cleaning out my Mediafire folders so there may be a few dead links on the first page.

I have added the Elin Race NPC and Enemy mod to the NER for Skyrim v1.8 and pre-v1.8. It would be in the folder labeled "04 - Elin NPC and Enemy".

The voice pack is in folder "03 - Voice Pack". You will need to install manually so just extract the file and choose one of the voice packs. There are sample voices you can listen to.

No love for the TERA Body, huh? The current New Elin Race mods look good, but the body shape of the Elins is what makes them so unique, at least in my opinion.

Any plans for an update of the TERA Body version? ^^

(Sorry if this was answered earlier in the thread! This forum doesn't have thread search...)

The other bodies all maintain the Elin's unique shape, though. The hips are all noticeably wider than on the equivalent human body, and their chests are the same way, except smaller instead of bigger.

So I decided to upgrade all my related files, but the updated

"2) New Elin Race Main Pack (2012Dec08)."

pack won't show up in my manager's list.

Or else I'm not coming across it

@AsteriskCGY

Mi Ya and Yi Ka can be found in the Drunken Huntsman in Whiterun. I will either add all additional information to my OP or add a README file(s) to the Mediafire folders.

@Auxy

I have not forgotten. I will upload the Tera Body and extra textures later today.

@Facebrain

I'm trying to keep the file names short, yet descriptive. So I will now be using either 'Elin Race', 'ElinRace' or 'NER' when it comes to file names.

got it, thanks. thought it was something left over from before.

The followers work well but have low res default hair and no ears/tails.

: /

Though I can gift them small ears and tails from another mod.
