I don't think there will be accidents with "hacked" robots that became violent. Simply because I doubt there will be ANY implemented code or physic functions involving attack/combat mechanics. Yes, they may hack your robot to insult you or do funny stuff, but forget about battle robots taking over the world. For such thing, someone should rewrite the whole AI from scratch and somehow rewrite the kernel of your robot - doubt this' gonna happen. Unless somehow the dev kit leaks, but again, extremely doubtful.

Fully autonomous robots likely will come from the military first.

Then the tech would be taken to the consumer division to make money and support the development.

From that chances are the code will be recycled. It wouldn't be as difficult to rework something to do another act. The basic coding for simple walking would be difficult to build from scratch.. movement of the arms etc. Location sensors, and other hard ware dependent functions would likely be the exact same as the military version or vice a versa (if a sexbot was created first) The "code" would be something working on top of the "firmware" which would be independent to a point but I suspect easily replaceable if someone was to say have access to your robot. LIke say your wife... 

 

It would be say something along the lines of installing another OS on your computer if say the OS already had the drivers to run the computer. Simple swap out. Even in the movie posted above. The chip.. would give the personality and such nothing mentioning the firmware or base code of the robot.

It will be either embryo facilities where newborns will be born in the tubes, only needed men or we will die simply die out sexexhausting ( depopulating ) ourselves.

Totally agree with you. Buying one? I won't say i'll never do, but not any time soon. But even then... i don't think i'll become old enough to have intresting conversation with an AI. And one of the reason to buy one if at all would be that i don't need to care about it's feelings. No need to calling, or cleaning, or talking while drinking my coffee in the morning... that's actually a main reason to be intrested at all. :P

After reading the article, one part of me is like " No....... just no...... why.....would you buy this?"

Another part of me can actually understand why. There could be several reason for a man to want this. Spanning from how the state of society is to how woman treat themselves and/or act a certain way.

But would I get one of these things? Nope. I'm on the boat of "wait for marriage, then sex". If that's not possible then so be it. Sex really isn't that important to me.

meh...just put in first thing that came to my mind...the usual response (IMO) that people who disagrees screwing or having feelings with an A.I. silicon bot...you could give suggestions though and I'll change it...

I answered yes BUT their wasn't a serious choice to choose from for those who wouldn't mind/want one for whatever reason.

 

That said depending on capabilities of said bot/sex bit I'd get one, my wife would probably surprise me with one if they existed. She loves doing stuff like that, especially if she gets to surprise me.

I don't know why but two robots from years ago come to mind.

Aibo the Sony robot dog,

And an old Twilightzone episode about some old guy lording it over his niece.

 

The Dog was seen by the president of Sony who was on a ceremonial visit to an electronics fair, many years ago.

The Zone-episode concerned a woman who was waiting for some guy to die so she could inherit tons.

The guy forsaw this and created a robot to order her around after he was gone.
