CBBE or UNP?

I used since skyrim came out almost, then recently gave UNP a try for a few days.

 

Both are great, but I prefer the proportions of CBBE just a tiny bit. However I far prefer KillerKeo's replaement armors over the current UNP ones available.

 

There are a lot of awesome anime-style armors for UNP only, which is why I gave it a good shot. But realistically I mostly wear stock armors (especially while leveling low-mid lvl as the custom armors tend to all be ebony-dragon level stats), and the cbbe replacement armors just look better to me.

 

I like both bodies. And note I havent tried it yet but ladybody looks absolutely bitchin.

Nexus modder Mak changed the CBBEv3 a little bit to make it even nicer and rounder. He also made replacement armor for just about everything and I am in love.

What I don't get is how anyone could think the butt on UNP's heavy end is flat.

I am currently using CBBE atm because of the mods and armor replacers it offers. Hopefully someone can make a UNP or CHS ver. of MAK's armor replacer, which imo one of the best armor replacers out there.

It's hard to decide. I love the detail of UNP. Even ladybody is great too. However I would have to go with CBBE for 3 reasons:

 

-The custom armor support is greater

-I prefer curvier women

-If I get tired of the proportions, I can always use the bodyslide tool to change it

 

If the armor support for UNP or ladybody could catch up, or someone do like what Thorazine or Patzy did for Oblivion and start a thread dedicated to UNP <-> CBBE armor conversions, I just may switch. =)

I still can't decide between either. I tried to sum up everything I like about both types in one screenshot below:

 

+++ CBBE definitely has a lot more armors for it

-- most of those armors come in 3-4 pieces only, and almost all of the BBP armors must be fully equipped or you'll see breakage in the wrists and ankles (probably the most annoying aspect of CBBE armors in general - I like piecemeal armor)

- a lot of the textures for CBBE (like navetsea or 4096 for example) have seams in the inner thigh/crotch area, so I'm pretty much stuck using the vanilla texture (wouldn't be an issue if it were as good as UNP's default texture)

+ CBBE has a quite a few nice tattoos for it

- because of those annoying seams, I only use the tattoos that modify the vanilla texture

 

-- UNP armor selection is still so limited

+ quality of the UNP armors is mostly very good

++ many UNP armors come with 7-9 pieces so that you can mix and match tops, bottoms, upper arms, upper legs, etc.

++ default texture is so good there is pretty much no need to modify it (outside of normal maps for muscles)

- tattoo selection is so limited (wouldn't be an issue if I had access to photoshop so I could learn how to edit my own)

 

Anyway, support for armors and the quality of the textures are measureable to me, whereas preference for body type is obviously not. I like both types, so in the end, the quality of UNP stands out enough that I'm using it as my default type. That said, I still use CBBE with custom races as you might have noticed with the screen. Honestly, custom races is the winner here since I don't really have to choose one over the other.

I have downloaded a ton of armor mods, and i mean a ton.

 

I use DIMONIZED UNP female body myself with UNP Fitness Body - Also CBBE and Tattoos for DIMONIZED UNP female body

 

Don't even have UNPB installed.

 

But with

 

The skeleton of female models (Perfect 3-2)

 

It seems I can also use armor mod's designed for dif body styles.

 

Game never crashes, But some Armor sets do have a few issues

So you can imagine. With certain parts covered up a little more..

you wouldn't have any visible texture issues and you get to enjoy whatever armor mod you want with whatever body.

And yes - It seems to change your Body style to fit the armor of your choosing (from big breasts to small) without you having to do a thing.

 

And no, i don't believe you can change the size unless you have that body mod installed.

I like petite girls as well. Never was a fan of ginormous boobs either, but everyone has their own preference in bust size. On the flip side of the coin, they might see what we like as unappealing or even repulsive. Best we can do is quietly disagree/disapprove and avoid it while remaining respectful, not that you weren't to begin with.

Seriously, after the new textures are installed, it just comes down to personal preference, the quality becomes essentially equal.

I use alot of jiitek's armor and skin mods... personal pref of course... never was a fan of big or huge breast, I like the A and B cups the best.. my gf is a 32 A and they R amazing!!! personal pref of course !!!

I used all of the body mods. CBBE seems to be the one i dislike the most. UNPB is the best but i stoppped using it to try ADEC. I'm hooked to ADEC because its just so hypnotizing with the physics. ADEC is good but with animation mods the clothes seem to clip through the body. And theres only 2 standard bodies for it, Muscular and regular.

why not use them both? there is body by race mod by dreamtourist, creating an armor by race mod isn't that hard.

I use CBBE BBP. Mods like UNP and ADEC are also nice, and I'll not have a single negative thing to say about either of them...but I personally prefer the curves of the CBBE body with the weight slider set around 15-25.

I've got both I've used the race mod "Yakska" to add a new race.

The Yakska mod uses UNP which I've updated with UNPB.

So now everything else uses CBBE, but I've got 1 race with UNPB.

 

You could also use the Temptress race.

I prefer the curvy CBBE and the CBBEv3M. The clothing mods for those two are really great. Plus CBBE comes with a bodyslider and you can make your own body.

UNPB seems to be the best because you can have a fantastic body from as slim to as voluptuous as you want. It also comes with high quality armors as well as it being obviously compatible with UNP armors and UNPB does have breast physics. UNP textures are also manageable on CBBE armor and clothes (just nipple moved and oddities around the waist). CBBE has good features such as the bodyslide, but the general shape, I do not prefer. CBBE also has more armor and clothes, but less quality, so it is quality vs. quantity, and UNP is still managing to catch up.

 

For jiggle physics, CHSBHC has the most mods for, but it is downright volumptous and ugly. UNPB has some armors here and there, but ADEC clearly wins this one especially if you want armors that are weighted closely to how oblivion's BBB armors are like (ADEC is based on a popular Oblivion Body HGEC. UNP is created by the same modder that created a popular Fallout Body TYPE3).

 

Lastly, the Lady Body. I prefer this over CBBE for quality, but not over UNP because of the lack of non vanilla clothes and armors Lady Body offers. Lady Body replaces all vanilla armor and clothes (like all bodies do), but lacks modders to create new clothes. Though it generally looks a tiny bit better than UNP.

 

Picking bodies used to be like picking clothes for an entire world of people. So many sizes and shapes from so many different types of bodies, all for an entire world of people and you can only chose one (until body by race came along). Skyrim is still just as complicated, from the rivaling bodies, to the extra crap. Make it easy on all of you by choosing UNPB BBP. It is the most versatile body without having too much crap.

To be fair, there are some nice armors/clothes for CBBE. I know Gatti on the Nexus makes some nice stuff. So does Kurese. But yeah in general the quality is sort of lacking.

Lady body looks great, but there isn't a whole lot of mods for it. Also, the UV map kinda of sucks imo. It reminds me a lot of HGEC body from oblivion and is difficult to make custom textures for.. and I love adding tattoos to my characters.

I just wish there was a curvy body with not too gigantic breasts. Nice subtle breasts and butt physics that don't spiral out of control when idling.

Lady body. I do not like that body, but it's not aesthetic reasons.

Ever wonder why the lady body has no support for beast races? Or why it's weight slider is almost non existent? Or why Krista is able to make armors so fast for it?

 

A lot of people who know her handiwork in Oblivion, she likes to rip high quality models from Poser/DAZ. Not that people seem to care much about where the content comes from. I suspect the Lady Body is a version of Poser's "Victoria" body since it's one of the most popular models.

 

Personally i find it disappointing that someone would go through the trouble of taking other people's work and claiming it as their own, so I do not like the lady body.

 

I do like to swap between UNPB and CBBEv3M thanks to custom races. There are too many great armors for both bodies and I would hate to miss out on something because I exclusively picked one body. I do wonder though, if there will ever come a time in Skyrim's life that there will be one major body that content is created for, like HGEC was in Oblivion.
