Have not been tracking Fo4, what are your must have mods.

I know about and have used the following,

Place Anywhere,

HomeMaker,

Odinator...(That mod that allows you to place all the items as statics)

Seems to me that those fix up the Settlement game, no idea why they shipped it without some of the functions of Place Anywhere.

In previous Bethsada Titles there were mods that were must have or try kind of mods although admittedly I wont be surprised if these don't actually exist in nice packages, some examples,

Fallout 3,

FWE, Fallout Wasteland Wanderer

Basically this was a combined mod that had many many subauthors that built smaller mods that eventually all got combined into one big massive and working overhaul.  Fairly exciting mod and well complex as well, really changes the game and added survival elements.

MMM, or Marts Mutants Mod.

A creature overhaul and really one of the more interesting ones of its kind that I have yet too see again with perhaps the exception of "Skyrim Immersive Creatures"

Interiors, by ChuckSteel

Fallout NV,

Project Nevada,

Very much like FWE in fact some of the same authors,

Interiors by ChuckSteel

Skyrim,

Frostfall

Immersive Creatures

And well it seems almost like well Skyrim has just so many more options of Overhauls and Comprehensive mods to pick from...Almost doesn't seem fair to list them all out....Not too mention soo many different Outfit Packs some I have done as well.

So what I feel like I run into is that with Fallout 4, there do not seem to be really interesting mods like just the short list that I have assembled above, which I think I could easily add another half dozen for Fo3/NV and another 3 dozen such mods for Skyrim.

When I go and look at lists of FTM or Top Spot mods....Well it just feels awefully minor in comparison to what I'm used to seeing for the prior games.

I'm asking in case there are in fact some mods either here and now or perhaps upcoming that will certainly warrant a playthrough.

Is there even a way to export/import Settlements yet?

Posted

I do remember seeing something about importing/exporting settlements, but I don't know how well it worked.

If you're interested, here are the mods I use that I particularly like:

Personal Jetpack
Because being able to fly around is fucking awesome. It's a real cheat mod, because unlike the Power Armor jetpack it doesn't use fusion cores, just fatigue. It also prevents all falling damage.

Quieter Settlements
The loud generators and turrets get irritating to me. This fixes it.

Easy Lockpicking
Because really, bobby pins are so common and it's so very difficult to fail at lockpicking anyway. This just speeds up the minigame essentially, so you're not wasting time.

Happy pills
Because I don't particularly like micromanaging my settlements happiness. Let them drug themselves into oblivion, is what I say.

Functional Wedding Rings
Gives a reason to keep the wedding ring.

Unique Uniques
A lot of unique weapons (like Paladin Danse's laser rifle, for example) get unique perks along with unique cosmetic upgrades. Most of the abilities are fair to middling, but it's still nice that not every unique weapon in the game is totally generic.

Legendary Modification
This is a cheating mod too. Apply legendary mods to your weapons and armor. The material cost is kind of high in rare materials like crystal, silver, nuclear material, etc. but it's well worth it.

Brighter Settlement Lights
Because I've found the vanilla ones too dark (small radius) for my tastes.

Center snap-point for stairs
Nice to be able to set stairs on left, center, and right, instead of just left and right on balconies and stuff.

Craftable balcony supports
This is just cosmetic, but it's a nice addition if you're trying to make your settlement look good.

Simple intersection
This gives some items like walls a bit more leeway to be placed wherever you want.

Snappable junk fences
Junk fences snap to each other like other walls do. Really nice if you build settlements barrier walls with junk fences instead of cement blocks or wood or metal walls.

Stackable concrete foundations
Very nice if you build towers out of concrete blocks or like higher concrete block walls around your settlements.

Stackable vanilla walls and floor connections
This is pretty good, it adds more snap points to a lot of objects. It can be a pain in the ass sometimes finding just the right angle to snap them though.

A spark of life
Cosmetic. I like just a little more green. Not as much as some mods do (I think some of them overdo it) but still a little less brown and grey than vanilla Fallout 4.

Proper Destrucable Sandbags
This is basically just because I like blowing sandbags up, and this makes it easier.

Vivid Fallout - Landscapes
Kind of like Spark of Life for me.

Another Life
An alternate start mod that skips the whole prewar sanctuary thing and lets you choose a roleplaying start. Just the start, though, unfortunately... the whole main quest is still in there.

Ash and goo pile prevention
Nice mod that prevents ash and goo piles from being permanent wherever you kill an enemy with a laser or plasma weapon.

Easy hacking
Like Easy Lockpicking, this is a "cheat" mod that really just speeds things up.

Longer power lines
I like the 2x version. It's nice to not have to put pylons or connectors every few feet.

No scope fade in
This reduces the fade-in when using scoped weapons.

CROSS Mismatched Eyes - Blind Eyes
Because I wanted a character with a scarred face and blind eye.

Ponytail Hairstyles by Azar
One of my favorite Skyrim mods, now in Fallout 4. Just adds some ponytail hair styles is all.

Improved map with visible roads
Just makes the pipboy map a bit easier to see.

Looksmenu Customization Compendium
Because I wanted a character with a scarred face and blind eye. :)

Lore-friendly ghoul eyes
Because the black ghoul eyes bothered me.

Better Settlers
Gives settlers a chance to spawn with their own armor pieces, and gives greater variability to settler appearance.

Moddable robot settlers compilation
Useful if you've got the Automatron DLC and want to modify some vanilla robots that stick in your settlements (like Codsworth).

Better vendor stalls
Just makes them look better. The mesh count is increased, though, so they use more of your settlement space budget.

Craftable floor supports
Same as Craftable Balcony supports - just a nice cosmetic mod.

Sanctuary door frames snap
Because I wanted to put doors in the Sanctuary houses.

Shaikujin's better alerts
Because a couple of times I missed noticing that my settlements were under attack.

Spring cleaning
TOTALLY AWESOME - not only does it give you more stuff to scrap which gives more resources, but you can really clean up some settlement locations from a bunch of junk that the vanilla game won't let you. It also allows you to scrap some stuff that permanently reduced your settlement size budget.
It has some problems though - it's possible to scrap things you don't want to scrap now, like the floors at Taffington Boathouse, or the basement door at Croup Manor. Just be careful scrapping and don't use the "scrapall" console command (or at least save before you do).

Looksmenu
Allows you to save character appearances as presets and re-use them in later games. Requires F4SE.

The Pipe Shotgun
Because I like pipe rifles and pistols, and there isn't a pipe shotgun in the vanilla game.

Unofficial Fallout 4 patch
Fixes a whole bunch of bugs.

Better holotape sorting
Because the way the vanilla game sorts holotapes in your inventory sucks rocks.

Better mod descriptions
Get accurate stats on weapon and armor mods, instead of vague statements like "more damage" and "even more damage."
Using this, I've found that often the best (in the sense of "most improved" or lowest on the list) weapon upgrade isn't actually best for some kinds of weapons.

Full dialogue interface
The most absolutely necessary mod for fallout 4 ever. Period.

KeyNuker and KeyRing
Like Better Holotape Sorting, this cleans up your inventory of keys, more like Fallout New Vegas.

Map markers more spaced apart
Just reduces the size of pipboy map markers so it's easier to select them on the map and not hit the wrong one accidentally when a bunch are close together.

Durable vertibirds
In my opinion, the vanilla vertibirds the Brotherhood uses suck. They're way too easily destroyed by a half-dozen super mutants armed with pipe pistols. This fixes that.

Power armor hud - no transparency
A nice little cosmetic mod that makes wearing power armor feel a little more like you're actually in it.

Remove ironsight blur
Kind of like the "no scope fade-in" mod, this fixes a minor irritation when not hip-firing weapons.

Better artillery signal flares - invisible wall bugfix
Gets rid of the invisible wall in midair that artillery smoke grenades always seem to hit when you throw them.
Before this came out, I made my own version called Artillery Smoke Grenades un-nerfed, but this mod does a better job and adds more functionality.

Spring cleaning is old and it seems scrap everything is better just don't use the automatron addon for it.

CWSS redux the bathroom mod is great build your own bathrooms and toilets watch your dam settlers take a dump and shower or do those things yourself they help to get rid of rads too.

Love to craft mod is better for legendary stuff it doesn't tack on a bunch of extra shit either. PTRS anti tank rifle mod for when you just want whatever it is dead right now. Dam if it ain't hard to find a decent sanctuary mod, I have yet to find something that cleans the trash out and takes it off the settlement limit bar, fixes the roofs and get rid of that tree crashed through the roof of that backyard bunker house, fix the build limit area bug behind that same house, restore the concrete roads so they don't look like a broken mess.

Don't forget custom combat armor mod it works great for all your combat armor needs. Almost all of doombased gun mods almost. Almost all of skibadaa's gun mods except the shotgun mod which is dam ugly. Oh and WM chinese assault rifle mod.

The armour is comprised in the "package" (not the under-armour nor the glasses). The regular semi-auto combat rifle does a roughly 390 damage per shot when the sniper rifle does 1375 damage per shot. More than the hit-points of my character (level 165). I have applied the TWO-SHOT legendary effect in the two cases. Expect fierce opponents because they have those weapons too :P.

the TWO-SHOT legendary effect decrease the actual precision of your weapon, be careful.

I'm just going to focus on mods that improve the NPCs right now making the game feel more immersive since the others

hit on armor and weapons already.

Atomic Radio & Tales from the Commonwealth

If you've played Skyrim and downloaded Interesting NPCs you know how much it improves the immersion of the game

by adding in tons of quests and new voiced characters. So they decided to start working on Fallout 4 and its really been

interesting. They did a radio station called Atomic radio from scratch with their own shows and commercials (eventually

their own music as well instead of old classics.) And Tales from the Commonwealth is already pretty great, it isn't quite

as big as Skyrim's Interesting NPCs yet but you can tell its going to be a vital download.

Super Mutant Redux

Another good one is Super Mutant Redux, it actually brings in Nightkin from Fallout: New Vegas and makes the Super

Mutants loads more difficult to fight. They even look more menacing. Watch out for the glowing mutants, they fight like

a deathclaw on psycho.

http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/11853/?

Gunner Faction Overhaul

Then there is one that revamps the Gunners into more than just someone to shoot at. You can actually work with them

and they become a real faction.

Raider Overhaul WIP

And finally my favorite that really makes the raiders amazing. This modder went in and redid their clothing, armor, added

drugs for them to take, everything. Like Super Mutant Redux it makes fighting them tougher but the rewards are greater.

The clothing is top notch.

Hope this helps. Its just a few, I'm sure a lot more immersive and fantastic stuff will be up soon.

I'm interested in CBBE Bodyslide,

Though a search seams to yield quite a lot of results and Im just at a loss.

Which Bodyslide?

You know its like which one, has the least amount of change to the vanilla structure of the outfit, and well "works"

I'm also not sure what I should really be looking for in this regard, are there Bounce effects now or what?

For my Skyrim game Im basically using stuff I built or rebuilt for the community like the Remodeled Armor for UUNP and the Book of UUNP.

All of which have bounce.

But I think for Fallout, Id like the outfits to look vanilla but with a UNP looking body....

Questions,

Do the Npc's still have their random weight assignment or they will all have the same body after going with CBBE?

Will the games normal cloth physics still work?

Should I be looking for the "extra physics" at this time or its still too early?

The best Fallout 4 mod is http://store.steampowered.com/app/22380/

But in all honesty, Weaponsmith and Armorsmith extended. Old World Radio. Northland Diggers.

Yeah, they should remaster NewVegas, not Skyrim damnit.

There was a rumor going around that Bethesda would do just that, along with FO3, months ago. It would make sense for them to cash in on what's been done already--that's their SOP. Since it's just a rumor take it with a grain of salt.

It's been a long time since I played, but I remember a mod that made everybody kill-able. I know MxR on YouTube detailed it in one of his earliest Fallout 4 Mods Weekly vids. That one is essential to me because after a while I just want to kill everybody. Especially Preston and the other survivors, all of the Institute, the BOS, everyone in Diamond City...

I would not hold my breath on that:

  - skyrim is way closer too Fallout 4 in term of its state, engine ? well few differences here and there but it is juts one game away. Models ? meh themodels were probably kepts as this with just some snazy effects to hide how low poly they were  (to be fair I am not sure that Fallout 4 models are that much more [poly than skyrim ones) textures ? HD was good enough on PC and people who will buy the skyrim remakes are on console so that will do

  - Fallout 3 or new vegas : all of the above (engine, models, textures) need to be brought to today standard => actual work of remastering the game => moire expense => less money. Also those games -- while having excellent mods -- have far less of them (compared to skyrim) with probably a mod community that is not as active anymore as it used to be

In short whiloe I would love a New Vegas updated to today I doubt it financially it is as easy to justify to the marketing team at Bethesda then Skyrim.

Also I am not sure I would trust BGS to mess in any way with an Obsidian game: don't get me wrong Bethesda is doing amazing stuff I would not trust Obsidian mess with (world map and environmental storytelling being the number one, lets be honest Bethesda honned this skill since they figured it out for Fallout 3 and then refined it with Skyrim or even Fallout 4) but there are things where BGS could learn a lot from NV and obviously did not (story arc and choices)

... and despite the fact that on both side some people mentioned "yeah we do not exclude doing a  do-over" the rest of the interaction between Obsidian and Bethesda (the publisher) tells me that they are not really ready to go in bed together anytime soon (both l have scars they need to lick about how badly it went and both have good reason to just say " lets give it some extra time")

I would never believe in a NewVegas remaster, if anything Bethesda would remaster Fallout 3, the biggest issue would be the engine, simple "adapting" to a reworked engine wouldn't make things better, they would have to rebuild everything, or it will be a shitty remaster, so maybe it's better that it will never happen, well time will tell.

That's why I said to take those rumors with a grain of salt. I've lost too much faith in Bethesda at this point to believe anything they say they'll do until it happens. And some things, like a finished GECK as opposed to a beta, still haven't happened. Also this is the Internet we're talking about. Wild rumors thrive when people can't (or won't) verify their facts.

No Settlement Attacks
Just what the name says. No more losing settlements to horrid AI.

Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch
We all knew this would be necessary. :(

Mute Player Voice
For those that hate fully voiced PCs.

Realistic Ragdoll Force
Because Bethesda's physics are terrible.

Farming Equalized
More food from less crops. Saves on settlement space and materials.
