Best race for Magick

What darkevilhum is pointing out is that this was posted in the Adult Mods section rather than the General Discussion area. It is related to the base game rather than adult modifications to it so it would be better served by being moved to that section of the site.

Since Destruction School magics are worthless outside of enchantment in the base game (Destruction skill scaling and Sneak Attack magic mods are a must for me),the races who excel at enchantment (it is possible to enchant 100% magic cost reduction gear) and/or alchemy (to craft potions which increase spell damage) are going to be the best mages in the end. Those are the High Elf,Wood Elf, Khajiit, Imperial and Orc races.

What is the best race in magick that has a high regan in it?

Altmer for magicka amount and regen but, if you're looking for a mage with durability then Breton as they're magicka resistant. Now if you're building off the Oblivion/Morrowind models of a class based character than pretty much anything other than an Orc and you can make the race play a mage class fairly well but that's probably a bit more than you were asking. Mind you I have seen an Orc mage played well even if the race is heavily favouring the warrior build though it's usually a Spellsword or Battlemage.

For vanilla game, marginally better than everyone else, Breton, Dark Elf, or Nord.

High elf is a trap, with enchantments none of your spell should cost anything, investing in magicka is generally not really worth it.

Argonian is also a good choice in general.

Best race at magick without a lot of side problems like the Altmer and the Thalmor who happen to be High Elf and Altmer would be the Dark Elf. Only one side effect and you get 50% magicka rebuild instantly in Oblivion, and in Skyrim itsĀ  easier to use for Dark Elves also. Fire, shock, and cold resistant but a percentage open to magick. Cured with either a spell or amulet.
